5. Brief ‘Description of Work’: Use another sheet if necessary. Copies of all material submitted with an application are retained by the Memphis Landmarks Commission. Replace a swollen, rotten wooden gate that is inoperable with a custom made iron gate that will match existing iron work on fence and other gates currently on the property

Install iron posts on either side of gate as close to existing stucco posts as possible. New gate will have a keyed deadbolt lock and a handle in same finish as the gate. 6. On an attached sheet, list the names and mailing addresses of the property owners within 150' of the subject property or lot and provide typed mailing labels. See the COA application instructions sheet for how to obtain this information. 7. Sign the attached COA Application Certification Form and include it with the application. 8. HISTORIC BACKGROUND: Date of Construction: National Register for Evergreen Historic District lists ca. 1921. Current Subdivision: W C JOHNSON Historic Information: Constructed ca. 1921 this dwelling is part of the W C Johnson Subdivision.

ARCHITECTURAL SUMMARY: Architectural Style: Craftsman This is a two-story, frame, Craftsman house constructed ca. 1921. The dwelling has a continuous poured concrete foundation, stucco siding, and a tile hip roof. On the main façade is a canopy porch with gable roof and engaged columns. The main entrance has a non-original ten-two light wood door with four transoms. The windows are original six-over-one and one-over-one double hung with wood sashes and brick sills. On the gable field is stucco siding, with one round window opening. There is a one-story garage with a standing metal seam roof, and a fifteen-light pedestrian door. On the east façade a sunroom has been added with a four-light wood casement door.

NATIONAL REGISTER ASSESSMENT: This dwelling is located within the Evergreen Historic District and is considered contributing to the district.
