Tiphia Fabricius, 1775: 353; Bingham, 1897: 56-57; Allen and Jaynes, 1930: 4–13. Type species: Tiphia femorata Fabricius, original designation.

Diagnosis. Metasomal sternum VI much longer than sternum V, exceeding far beyond the apex of pygidium inmale. Sternum VII hidden under sternum VI in male. Hindwing with jugal lobe longer than subbasal cell in both sexes.

Tiphia antigenata Allen and Jaynes (Figures 1–2)

Tiphia antigenata Allen and Jaynes, 1930: 15 (in key), 18 (in key), 23-26, ♀, Kiangsu, China (USNM); Kim and Han, 2008b: 321- 322. Tiphia ogurai Tsuneki, 1986: 3, ♀, Seoul, Korea (MNHAH); Han et al., 2007: 309 (listed); Kim and Han, 2008b: 321–322 (synonymized with Tiphia antigenata Allen and Jaynes).

This species is a member of “koreana-group” (s. str. Allen and Jaynes 1930) characterized by the subapical fold on tergum I and the posterior groove of mesopleuron (refer to couplet 2 in the key).

Recognizable characters. Female. Body length 8.5 mm. Apical margin of median production of clypeus almost truncate. Frontal groove lacking. Pronotal carina well developed, at most weakened in dorsomedian part. Central longitudinal groove of pronotal lateral face defined, but interrupted, not forming a continuous groove. Posterior margin of tegula without impressed line.
