Fleet Archive 2019 8 September 2019 Repaints last week included Wright StreetDeck 6307 (NK16 BXG) into the blue variant of the Xlines livery. Due to a low-bridge strike, Volvo B7TL/East Lancs Myllennium Vyking 3976 (PJ02 PZC) has been withdrawn from service. Replaced in the fleet last week at Riverside, Scania L94UB/Wright Solar 4941 (NK51 OLC) has also been withdrawn. Following the end of the temporary shuttle bus in operation at Bournmoor, Scania CN230UB/Scania Omnicity 5238 (NK56 KHF) has transferred to Percy Main Depot from Washington, where it will displace a double-deck to Riverside to replace 3976 (PJ02 PZC). Vehicle disposals continue; with Scania L94UB/Wright Solar 4969 (NK53 UNV) having been sold to Davies Motors, Ruthin, and Volvo B7TL/Plaxton President 9074 (MF51 MBV) returned to East Yorkshire following temporary loan to Go North East. 1 September 2019 Repaints last week included Scania CN230UB/Scania Omnicity 5271 (NK56 KKG) into the 2019 fleet livery. Following on from the vehicle movements last weekend, all of the fleet movements associated with the new academic school year have now been completed. These are summarised below: - 724 has transferred from Washington to Riverside, in order to operate the new NHS contract, pending delivery of the new EVM Sprinter minibuses - 3941 and 3942 have transferred from Washington to Chester-le-Street - 3962, 3963 and 3964 have transferred from Deptford to Chester-le-Street - 3965 has transferred from Riverside to Chester-le-Street - 4949 has transferred from Peterlee to Deptford - 4989 has transferred from Deptford to Percy Main - 5234, 5235, 5236 and 5237 have transferred from Saltmeadows to Riverside - 5238 has transferred from Riverside to Washington - 5269, 5270 and 5271 have transferred from Percy Main to Chester-le-Street - 5420 has transferred from Deptford to Consett - 5440 and 5441 has transferred from Riverside to Consett - 6122, 6123, 6128, 6136, 6137 and 6138 have transferred from Chester-le-Street to Saltmeadows - 6131 has transferred from Saltmeadows to Percy Main - 6146, 6301, 6302, 6303, 6304, 6305, 6306, 6307 and 6332 have transferred from Crook to Chester-le-Street, following the closure of the Crook outstation, with the full X21 operation transferring to Chester-le-Street - 6910, 6911, 6912, 6913 and 6914 have transferred from Percy Main to Chester-le-Street - 6929 has transferred from Saltmeadows to Riverside - 6930 and 6931 have transferred from Saltmeadows to Consett - 8294, 8295 and 8296 have transferred from Chester-le-Street to Deptford - 8297, 8298 and 8299 have transferred from Riverside to Deptford - 9071 is a Mercedes-Benz 516CDI Sprinter/EVM VS30 Cityline on loan at Riverside, to operate the new NHS contract, pending delivery of the new EVM Sprinter minibuses - 9073 has returned to service at Consett, to be allocated exclusively to St Bede’s scholars services, pending delivery of the new ADL Enviro400s for service X30 A number of vehicles have also been sold, including: - 4978, 4980 and 4981 to Ensign Bus Co., Purfleet. - 5205 to ConnexionsBus, Harrogate. - 9072, formerly East Yorkshire’s 582, to Ensign Bus Co., Purfleet 25 August 2019 Repaints last week included Optare Solo SR M890/Optare 631 (NK61 FEU) into “Little Coasters” livery, and Wright StreetDeck Micro-Hybrid 3 6333 (NK67 GOC) into the blue variant of the Xlines livery. Wright StreetDeck Micro-Hybrid 3 6333 (NK67 GOC) has also been re-registered as X21 GNE; with 6146 returning to its original registration mark, YN55 NFE. Double-deck fleet movements have begun ahead of the new academic school year; including former Go-Ahead London General Plaxton President bodied Volvo B7TLs 6924, 6925, 6926, 6927 and 6928 (LX54 GZB/GZC/GZD/GZE/GZF) from Saltmeadows to Riverside, displacing Go-Ahead London Central Wright Eclipse Gemini bodied Volvo B7TLs 6915, 6916, 6917, 6918 and 6919 (LX06 EBV/EBZ/ECA/ECC/ECD) from Riverside to Consett. Former Go-Ahead London General 6932 (LX54 GZW) has also transferred from Saltmeadows to Consett. In turn, former Brighton & Hove East Lancs OmniDekka bodied Scania N94UDs 6124, 6125, 6131 (GX03 SUU/SUV, YN04 GJE) to Saltmeadows. Similar long wheelbase Scania OmniDekkas 6167, 6168 and 6169 (YN56 FFG/FFH/FFJ) have transferred from Consett to Riverside, displacing similar 6126, 6127 and 6129 (GX03 SUY/SVA/SVD) to Saltmeadows. 18 August 2019 Repaints last week included Scania CN230UB/Scania Omnicity 5270 (NK56 KKF) into the 2019 fleet livery, and Wright StreetDeck 6304 (NK16 BXD) into the blue variant of the Xlines livery. There were no fleet movements during the week. 11 August 2019 Repaints last week included Optare Versa V1170/Optare 5390 (NL63 YAY) into a white livery, receiving a promotional livery to support the World Transplant Games, as well as Optare Solo M710SE/Optare 709 (WK58 EAJ) and Scania CN230UB/Scania Omnicity 5247 (NK56 KHT) into the 2019 fleet livery. Scania L94UB/Wright Solar 4940 (NK51 OLB) has been sold for scrap to Alpha Recovery, Weetslade. 4 August 2019 Repaints last week included Optare Solo M880/Optare 703 (YJ10 MFF) into “Little Coasters” livery and Mercedes Citaro 0530N/Mercedes Citaro 5285 (NK08 CFU) into the 2019 fleet livery. Scania L94UB/Wright Solar 4933 (Y933 ERG) has been sold to Alpha Recovery, Weetslade, whilst similar 4948 (NK51 OLO) has been withdrawn from service at Riverside having suffered defects uneconomical to repair. 28 July 2019 Repaints last week included Optare Solo M880/Optare 702 (YJ10 MFB) into “Little Coasters” livery and Scania CN230UB/Scania Omnicity 5268 (NK07 GJO) and 5269 (NK56 KKE) into the 2019 fleet livery. An outstanding transfer from last week; Optare Solo M890/Optare 647 (NL63 XZU) has transferred from Consett to Deptford, releasing similar 650 (NL63 XZX) to Percy Main. Chester Road at Bournmoor will be closed westbound (towards Chester-le-Street) from Monday 29 July until Friday 27 September to allow for road reconstruction and utility works in conjunction with the new housing development at this location. During this closure; Services 4, 78 & 78A will be unable to serve Bournmoor (4, 78 & 78A) or Fence Houses (4) in a southerly direction. As such; a shuttle bus will be in operation, ran from Washington Depot. Optare Solo M890/Optare 724 (YJ13 HMY) will be the vehicle allocated, so this bus has transferred from Percy Main Depot to Washington. Scania L94UB/Wright Solar 4932 (Y932 ERG) and 4969 (NK54 UNV) have been withdrawn from service at Deptford. The former will be sold for scrap, but the latter is expected to be sold on for further use. Volvo B7TL/Plaxton President 6017 (V317 LGC) has been sold for scrap to Alpha Recovery, Weetslade. 21 July 2019 Repaints last week included Optare Solo M880/Optare 701 (YJ10 MFA) into “Little Coasters” livery, and the final “Whey Aye Five 0” branded Scania CN230UB/Scania Omnicity, 5259 (NK56 KJO), into the 2019 fleet livery. A number of the buses which were repainted into the 2016 fleet livery, but not fitted with advert frames, are due to return for repaint in the coming weeks to have these fitted, and will also receive a partial repaint into the 2019 fleet livery for consistency. A large number of vehicle movements have taken place in line with the start of the school holidays. Summarised below: With surplus double-decks now being available at Deptford, East Lancs OmniDekka bodied Scania N94UDs 6126 (GX03 SUY), 6127 (GX03 SVA) and 6129 (GX03 SVD) have returned to Riverside, enabling Plaxton President bodied Volvo B7TLs 9072 (X762 ABU), 9073 (MF51 LZX) and 9074 (MF51 MBV) to be withdrawn. Whilst building and facilities work is being carried out at Washington Depot, the operation of the Miscellaneous Works and additional peak-time commercial services that the depot operates, has transferred to Deptford. Along with this work, Wright Eclipse Gemini bodied Volvo B7TLs 3962 (JCN 822), 3963 (NK06 JXD) and 3964 (NK06 JXC) have transferred to Deptford, as well as Mercedes Citaro 0530N/Mercedes Citaro 5487 (HW07 CXY). Scania L94UB/Wright Solar 4932 (Y932 ERG) has transferred from Chester-le-Street Depot to Deptford, serving as a replacement vehicle for Scania L94UB/Wright Solar 5201 (NK54 NUU) which has been withdrawn from service at Deptford. Wright Streetlite DF/Wright Streetlite Max Micro-Hybrid 5420 (NK16 BYA) has transferred to Deptford in a float/reserve capacity over the summer holidays, and Scania L94UB/Wright Solar 5215 (NK54 NVL) has been withdrawn as a consequence. The reduction in service levels on “Toon Link” service 6 saw the transfer of Scania CN230UB/Scania Omnicity 5250 (NK56 KHW) to Chester-le-Street. Service changes in the Stanley area saw the transfer of Optare Solo M890/Optare 648 (NL62 XZV) from Consett to Deptford and Optare Solo M880/Optare 697 (YJ59 NNH) to Riverside. 651 (NL63 XZY) transferred from Deptford to Percy Main as a result, with Scania CN230UBScania Omnicity 5267 (NK56 KKC) and 5268 (NK07 GJO) transferring to Chester- le-Street in lieu. The loss of the contract to operate service 5 between Jarrow and North Shields saw the transfer of Scania CN230UB/Scania Omnicity 5262 (NK56 KJX) from Washington to Chester-le-Street. As a result of the inward transfer of these Scania OmniCitys, Chester-le-Street have transferred Optare Versa V1110/Optare 8297 (NK09 FUV), 8298 (NK09 FUW) and 8299 (NK09 FUY) to Riverside, enabling the withdrawal of Scania L94UB/Wright Solar 4938 (NK51 OKX) and 5215 (NK54 NVL). Volvo B7TL/East Lancs Myllennium Vyking 3968 (PJ02 PYU) has also been withdrawn from service at Riverside having sustained defects uneconomical to repair. 14 July 2019 Repaints last week included Optare Solo SR M890/Optare 694 (YJ13 HNZ) into “Little Coasters” livery and Scania CN230UB/Scania Omnicity 5267 (NK56 KKC) into the 2019 fleet livery. A trio of Plaxton President bodied Volvo B7TLs have been acquired on temporary loan from East Yorkshire.
