This exciting THANKS TO: event brings arts, science, industry, motion and engineering together to capture the imaginations of children and the young at heart alike. From arts and street theatre, to workshops, vans, vintage vehicles and cars there is something for everyone to enjoy at trAction. trAction brings its own brand of edu-tainment with lots of STEM activities taking place in Lyceum Square bringing science, technology, engineering and maths to life (pages 4 and 5). Crewe Heritage Centre will be displaying classic cars, vintage lorries and buses plus a selection of Whitby Morrison’s ice cream vans and their fascinating locomotives. Music from The Cat 107.9FM (10am - 3.30pm) and live music from Green Bullet (11.30am and 1pm). Learn about life in a 15th century camp in Memorial Square (10.30am - 2pm). Look out for highlights including the SpareParts Arts Parade at 3pm, (see map for route), which will be packed with crazy contraptions and flying machines created by local community groups and local schoolchildren performing with The DMPC. It’s not too late to get involved – join in with our workshops (page 9) and make something for the parade. Head to Market Square, Lyceum Square and Memorial Square to watch bicycle powered theatre, aerial artists and even a trip to the sky with Cloudscapes. (Pages 10 onwards).
