My name is Bridgett Williams, the head women's basketball coach here at Wright State University, and I would like to thank you for taking the time to view our media guide. Inside you will find pictures of my players and the staff, information on our campus and much more. This media guide was put together diligently by our sports information office for your viewing. We thank them for putting together a wonderful guide to Wright State Women's Basketball. We hope you enjoy it.

I would also like to share my vision for this program, which consists of four areas I work daily to improve:

As a result, Williams was selected as the conference's Coach of the Year. Away from the court, Williams also made an immediate impact as two Chicago State players were named to the Academic All-Conference Team last season and, in 2000, she conducted the first basketball camps sponsored by the women's basketball program in Chicago State's history. Prior to arriving at Chicago State, Williams served as the recruiting coordinator at fellow Horizon League member Illinois-Chicago. She was instrumental in Illinois-Chicago's signing of a top 20 class in 1999. She was also an assistant coach at Kansas State University for two years, an assistant at the University of Wisconsin for two years, and an assistant at her alma mater, Southern Illinois-Carbondale, for two years. During her tenure at Kansas State (1996-98), Williams' recruiting and coaching efforts contributed to the Wildcats' first NCAA tournament appearance in 10 years in 1997.

7 1.888.RAIDERS Kevin VVilliams Assistant Coach Third Year In his third year at WSU, Kevin Williams is a man with many hats as he serves as Life SKILLS coordinator as well as a volunteer assistant with the women's basketball team. As Life SKILLS coordinator, Williams is responsible for housing and community service opportunities for all Wright State athletes. On the coaching side, Williams brings a great deal of experience to Wright State as he has coached on both the scholastic and intercollegiate levels. At the college level, Williams was part of the women's basketball coaching staff at Chicago State in 2000-01, where he assisted in such areas as game strategy, position skill development, scouting and game preparation. He also served two years as the head men's basketball coach for the Wisconsin-Rock County Rattlers, a junior college located in Janesville, Wisconsin. At the scholastic level, Williams coached junior high boys basketball for three years at Unity Point in Carbondale, Illinois, and was an eighth grade assistant football coach for Fort Riley Middle School in Fort Riley, Kansas. The husband of Bridgett Williams, Kevin graduated from Kansas State in 1997 with a degree in child psychology.

Jason Franklin Athletic Trainer First Year Another new face on the Raider sidelines this season is Jason Franklin, who will be the athletic trainer for the women's basketball team. Franklin, however, is no stranger to Wright State and the Nutter Center with his prior experiences. A 1995 WSU graduate with a bachelor's degree in elementary education with a concentration in athletic training, Franklin was involved with several teams while as a student, including the Cleveland Cavaliers during their training camp and the Dayton Wings of the World Basketball League. He then served as an athletic trainer for the Springfield (OH) City Schools and at Buchholz High School in Gainesville, Florida. From 1997-99, Franklin was a graduate assistant athletic trainer and teaching assistant at the University of Florida and also spent time as the trainer for the Gainesville Growlers semipro football team. He earned his master's degree in exercise and sport science from the university in 1998. After returning to Ohio, Franklin worked at both the Franciscan Medical Center and the Kettering Sports Medicine Center, with his main focus being the head trainer of the Dayton Bombers minor league hockey team the past four seasons. Along with treatment and rehabilitation of injuries, Franklin was also responsible for all strength and condition programs. A member of the National Athletic Trainers Association, Franklin resides in Kettering with his wife, Angie, who competed in women's soccer for the Raiders from 1992-95, and daughter Sydney, who was born earlier this year.

Chris Brann Director of Basketball Operations First Year Director of Basketball Operations Chris Brann is the newest addition to the Raider coaching staff, joining WSU after three years at Florida State. Over the past three years, Brann served as head manager for the Seminoles, where he assisted with scouting of opponents, travel coordination and equipment set up and mainte­ nance. He also was involved with camps as he coordinated sites, scheduled officials and oversaw equipment and facilities. Brann earned a bachelor's degree in social work from Florida State in 2001 and a master's degree in sports administration from there earlier this year. 8 WSURAIDERS.COM Meet the Raiders

32 WSURAIDERS.COM Dr. Michael J. Cusack Over 20 years of innovation and growth has highlighted Dr. Michael J. Cusack's tenure as director of athletics at Wright State Unjversity since ms appointment in April of 1982. On the long list of accomplishments by Cusack has been Wright State's move to division in 1987 and the building of the 11 ,000-seat Ervin J. Nutter Center as well as Nischwitz Baseball Stadium and Alumnj Soccer Field, all of which rank among the best athletic facilities in the Midwest. Also to Cusack's credit was the move to the Midwestern Collegiate Conference (now the Horizon League) and the development of the Life SKILLS program that enhances the student-athletes through a rruxture of acaderrucs, community and university service as well as the typical athletic endeavors. A native of Levittown, New York, Cusack earned his Bachelor of Science degree in physical education from Long Island University in 1964. He received his Master of Science degree in physical education from Queens College in 1969 and Dr. Cusack an Ed.D. degree in 1980 from New York University in adrrunistration of physical Director ofAthletics education and athletics. Following graduation in 1969, Cusack spent nine years at Queens College as a member of the physical education faculty. He served as head baseball coach, assistant basketball coach and assistant athletic director. His baseball teams had a combined record of 65- 27 with teams appearing in postseason tournaments each of the four years he was coach. He was inducted into the Athletic Hall of Honor at Queens in December 1986. Cusack and hi s wife, Dot, have five children and six grandchildren.

As a co-host with , the Raise Your Sights League resume includes hosting the Men's Final Four in 1991 , 1997 and 2000. Horizon League markets, including five of the nation's top 30 television DMAs, cover more than nine Jonathan B. The member institutions are generally located in major metropolitan areas and benefit from the business, cultural, educational and entertainment resources available to the university community. Originally founded in 1979 as the Midwestern City Conference, the League was a men's only sports league until the 1986-87 season when it added women's athletics.
