Continuing to build on his extensive community support, a large group of Asian Pacific Islander-American leaders endorsed Democratic candidate Jimmy Gomez in his bid to replace Attorney General in the 34th Congressional District.

“As a State Legislator, Jimmy Gomez worked to get funding for the Historic Park and worked with Chinatown small business leaders to craft legislation to protect small businesses from predatory lawsuits. I know that Jimmy will fight just as hard for us in Washington, D.C.” said Los Angeles Community College Trustee Mike Fong.

“Jimmy Gomez has a long history of serving the APIA community as a union organizer and Assemblyman, making it an easy decision for Pilipino American LA Democrats to endorse him. Jimmy Gomez has been one of the most effective and progressive members of the State Legislature. He has passed laws and carried bills to expand paid family leave, promote environmental justice, prevent domestic violence, protect Planned Parenthood, disclose money in political ads and stop President Trump’s anti-immigrant orders.

First elected in 2012 and re-elected in 2016 with over 86% of the vote, Gomez's assembly district encompasses more than half the 34th Congressional District. On April 4th, Jimmy Gomez placed first in the 23-way special election, earning 25% of the vote. Jimmy lives in the Eagle Rock with his wife Mary, and dog Austin.
