Last Will &Testament

I, Logan Anthony Brinkerhoff, of creative mind and human body, do hereby bequeath the following: (spoiler alert I’m not really bequeathing anything, it’s more like a “things I just need to know that you know” type of spheal ok you may now proceed)

To Cody Condrad : • “this is our hill, and these are our beans!” “Just think; next time I shoot someone, I could be arrested.” “Wilma, I promise you; whatever scum did this, not one man on this force will rest one minute until he's behind bars. Now, let's grab a bite to eat.” “I've finally found someone I can love - a good, clean love... without utensils.” • (waching WWII movie in Dingle Ireland) *hysterical Laughter* “I think that this is supposed to be a serious movie…” • (playing SSBM with only Pokeballs) • DOBBY! • “I do believe that was a Grand Jete” I’ll text you later.

To Alexandria Isais: My Darling, you are completely wonderful. Thank you so much for letting me be a part of you becoming Mrs. Spruce Creek, bringing the title back to the Band program after Rosemary . Thanks for being there during marching season, and West Side Story, and Math last year, and in 11 O’Clock, and in my life in general because I would be a complete train wreck without you. Brava darling, you rock :) Without you being there during Center Stage I have no idea if I would still be performing, and for that I thank you so very much. Can’t wait until you join me in NYC!

To Nina Abando: I love you to the moon and back multiplied by seven. You are so wonderful and hilarious, I will always be right here for you :) Thanks for bringing so much happiness to my life, I love you I love you I love you I love you I love you I love you I love you I love you I love you I love you I love you. I can only strive to be more like you every day; I will always do anything in the world for Nina Abando, because she showed me a new way to see the world.

To Reagan Walker : I can’t really describe my feelings for you, they are a mosh of unconditional love, absolute joy, humility, awe, and an emotional manifestation of sunshine. Without you my life would be a dark place indeed, because you showed me such kindness again and again year after year. I only hope that I can show other people what you have shown me. Thank you, from the bottom of my heart, for everything.

To Deanna Silvey: “We have been done for too many years now” That basically sums up our relationship I believe. Best friends forever, I cannot wait to get a signed copy of Bestselling Author Deanna Silvey’s first novel, and then show it to all of my friends bragging about how amazing my friend is and how their friends are so lame in comparison. They dynamic duo for sure, I have nothing but hugs and smiles for you and I thank you for always being there for me, 100%, no matter what :) I love you. And I always will.

To David Garey: I think that you are pretty cool. Ish. On a good day. Thanks for covering up my seagull squaks during West Side Story, and for just being an amazing friend in general, four for you glen coco, you go glen coco. You’re awesome and when you design NYC’s next skyscraper I want a dance studio and a penthouse apartment with an indoor Jacuzzi. I call dibs. Thanks for basically teaching me through example how to play the saxophone in a jazzacular way, though I am still nothing next to you. Thanks for making 12 O’Clock really special because I got to play with David Garey five days a week. Muzel Tav! (btw call me if you are ever in the city! We need to hang in NYC!!)

To Sydney Levy: (hug) thank you.

To Erika Cooley: This is pretty pointless for you. I’ve said all there needs to be said and further reiteration of the matter would be such a drama to unfold again, so I’ll text you later :)

To Sarah Farmwald: SARAH DARLING WOWOWOWOWOWOWOWOWOWOWOWOWOWOWOWOWOW!! I love you and you rock and you are so funny and hardworking and you are so cool and so unique and so yourself I adore you so much you are the most awesometastic person I have ever met, I love you sooo much and you are the most cool special important person I have ever met. To Alex Aramayonnaise: ALALALALALALALALALALALALALALALALALALALALALALAL!!! Yes absolutely yes. Uuh alex you rock and have always been my friend since like band camp of sophomore year which I think is pretty cool. I am actually going to do my first bequeathing of this whole testament and say that I hereby bequeath to you the Tenor 1 spot in 12 O’Clock jazz. But if you don’t practice and sound like a fool bad things will happen. I’m talkin a plague which wipes out all chik-fil-a. Beware. Thank you for always keeping things light and I hope you have someone senior year who is like a replacement me so that any music classes you take won’t be too unbearable, and so that you have someone to put paper wads in their desk with. To Madeline; MWAH I LOVE YOU

To Tashina Potts: Thanks for always having the right thing to say, and for being my go to theatre gal whenever something big happened on Broadway :). Can’t wait to work with you in the future! AND HAVE FUN NYC ADVENTURES!

To Mason Norris: Mason. Norris. Thank you for always having something witty and absolutely hilarious to say. Thank you for regularly correcting Mrs. Cappeillo, and just being the awesomely cool Mason Norris. Keep up the cool my friend.

To Dominick: You’re cool. Keep it up.

To Michelle Henning: MICHEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEELE! As stated in Erika’s little ditty I have nothing more to say to you. I love you, and I’ll text you later :)

To anybody I missed: My humble apologies, and just tell me. I’ll get you the most wonderful thing in the world :) chao! To Ronda: LOVE YOU AND YOUR GRANDMA STORIES!!! You are so amazing and you inspire me to be a better person all the time. I can’t wait to see what you do love :)

Cody Conrad

I began my band or colorguard career at: Creekside Middle School! My various roles in the band or colorguard have included:

Field crew member, field crew captain, spider handler, inventory radical fascist, band captain My most memorable experience has been: Perhaps stepping onto the field for the first time at FBA just staring at Jared to my right to watch for the step-off. But then, watching for the step-off at the Ireland parade is very memorable. At that, my freshman year band banquet will be something I take with me for the rest of my life. My favorite trip with the program:

I loved both the Germany trip and the Ireland trip equally. I enjoy being the spectator and the performer. What was your most embarrassing moment? During band camp my freshman year people (mostly my sister’s friends) tried to get me to date my sister because we were so similar and so close already. They of course didn’t realize we were siblings… What are your future plans? I plan on attending a 4 year university and then continuing to get a doctorate degree in some field of study. In which field? I do not know. If you could give a piece of advice to the underclassmen:

Keep the big picture in mind, but always take delight in the simple things. Erika Cooley

I began my band career at: Six years old, when I first began taking classical piano lessons. My teacher was Russian lady who played Chopin like a goddess. My various roles in the band have included:

Field Crew (tuba tradition!), Sousaphone Section Leader, and Keyboardist in the pit! I have also been a pianist in all three jazz bands over the years (which is my favorite part, duh). My most memorable experience has been: All the Lakeside Jazz Festivals!!! It’s like Christmas every time it comes around! My favorite trip with the program: Ireland, of course. Need I say more? What was your most embarrassing moment? The day before competition, my sophomore year, Mr. Kidd had us rehearsing the closer, and for some reason I thought that the drum major had started the song. So I played the sousaphone intro, alone. Mr. Kidd YELLED. The entire band ended up doing twenty pushups. I cried… What are your future plans? To major in jazz studies at the University of North Florida. If you could give a piece of advice to the underclassmen: Cherish every second of your time. You might have the biggest desire to leave as fast as you can, but it will come sooner than you think, and before you know it, you’ll be saying good bye to your closest friends. Don’t forget that. Last Will &Testament I, Erika Cooley, of content mind and not Beyoncé (dang it) body, do hereby bequeath the following:

To Dane Marcum: You can have the whole locker now. Stay on track and don’t get TOO wild!

To Cole Popovic: Stop calling me Reginald G you know what. Have a fantastic senior year!

To Joseph Kelemen: I leave you my superior tuba skills, because lord knows you need them.

To all of my Tuba Babies: WHO’S A HAPPY TUBA?

To Dominic Cinefro: I gave you enough gigs, what more do you want? Just kidding, keep giving extra sandwiches to people who are hungry, it makes a bad day much better.

To Reagan Walker: Come find me so we can do our handshake at least one more time. I love you!

To Sarah Farmwald: It’s been thirteen years of friendship, since the very start of kindergarten. It’s kind of weird to think that it’s been that long. Who would have thought we would be here after all this time? I hope to see you for many more years! P.S. I also love you! To Jake Farmwald: Jake-a-Shake! Get out my house already! When are you going to leave?

To Christian Cooley: Pee! I’ll see you at home. Hopefully Jake won’t be there again.

To Daniel Lunde: Lundizzle… We still have many more gigs to play together. See you around.

To Michelle Henning: Oooooooo gurl…. Your piano skills are on fire. I leave you my non-existent sight-reading skills. Make sure you come up to UNF next year to visit! Thanks for being a great co-pianist in four the last four years, you rock my socks off.

To Sydney Levy: Syd!!! You can have all of my songs. You’re welcome. But really, you’re a great pianist. I can’t wait to see how much you progress in the coming years.

To David Garey: I leave you a jet-pack riding unicorn dolphin tattoo. Appreciate the little things in life.

To Michael Lira: You don’t need anything from me. You’re very talented, and I hope you keep up with it. Don’t let it go to waste.

To Brian Bujalski: I leave you all my copies of Real Book tunes. Don’t stop learning your voicings, you have the capacity to become an accomplished guitarist!!! To Logan Brinkerhoff: I owe you a lot of gas money. I wish you the best in your dance career!

To Cody Conrad: Cody… Learn better jokes. Just kidding… Kinda. Haha! I leave you my piano skills, so keep on learning cheesy Bruno Mars tunes! And don’t forget- SIF and ARIFEC.

To Nina Abando: Nina, since freshman year math class your sassiness and humor has made me smile and laugh so much. I leave you many hugs and my best wishes!

To Mason Norris: Keep up the impeccable fashion taste. And I’m sorry I yelled at you for banging on the piano freshman year.

To Cody Carrier: I have enjoyed teaching you so much. I leave you the confidence of a budding and talented jazz pianist. I can’t wait to see how you progress during high school. Have a good time.

To Jillian Bennett: You’re the new tuba mama. Treat them well.

To Elijah Barnes: I leave you what minimal knowledge of bass that Finn gave me. Which is basically nothing… haha

To Elise Stewart: You’re pretty cool. Just thought I’d let you know. ;D

To Tashina Potts: I’m going to miss you! Thank you for being the most understanding of leaders, you made the season that much easier. Good luck in your future endeavors!

To 12 o’clock: Don’t forget, you have a tradition to uphold. Don’t let the reputation be all that you have, back it up with your great talent. It has been a wonderful time. Thank you for everything. P.S. Please burn Disco Christmas.

To all of the band family: Thank you for reminding me that there is always a reason to smile. I am so honored to have been a part of such a wonderful family. The tradition continues!

To everyone I forgot to specifically mention: Come yell at me next time you see me. I procrastinated this.

Sarah Farmwald

I began my band career at: Sweetwater Elementary School with Mrs. Schmidt, playing the flute. My various roles in the band have included: being a quartermaster in 10th and 11th grade and being brass marching tech in 12th grade. My most memorable experience has been: deciding to switch from clarinet to mellophone for marching band in 10th grade. Being able to learn both brass and woodwind instruments has really broadened my knowledge of music in general. What are your future plans? I plan to do marching band at the University of Florida, playing the mellophone. If you could give a piece of advice to the underclassmen: Before you know it, you will be graduating too, so make the most of your time here and make as many lifelong friends as you can!

David Garey

I began my band or colorguard career at: Silver Sands Middle School. Well, technically, I began playing saxophone the summer before sixth grade because I wanted to do band in middle school, and I had seen someone at my temple play saxophone. My various roles in the band or colorguard have included: Field Crew, Section Leader, and Band Captain. It has been a rewarding experience to be part of the leadership team behind such a large and well-renowned program. As a player, I’ve enjoyed my opportunities to perform solos in jazz and concert band. My most memorable experience has been: The Ireland performance tour. Even though I could barely move my fingers because of the cold, marching in the St. Patrick’s Day Parade and playing in Merrion Square in Dublin were two performances I’ll never forget. My favorite trip with the program: Of course, Ireland. It was my first visit to Europe, and what an incredible place it was. It was great to share music with an international community and to not only march in but win the St. Patrick’s Day Parade in Dublin. The scenery and landscapes were unlike anything I’ve seen, especially the incredibly powerful Cliffs of Moher. What was your most embarrassing moment? When a certain recording of me singing that wasn’t supposed to be heard by anyone was heard by everyone. What are your future plans? I intend to earn a bachelor’s degree in architecture. If you could give a piece of advice to the underclassmen: Don’t make the same mistake twice. But to do that, you first have to own up to your mistakes. Last Will &Testament

I, David Garey, of sound mind and able body, do hereby bequeath the following:

To Deanna Silvey: Trips to Orlando and St. Augustine and wherever else we go in the future, Halo 4, my Xbox, lots of movies, good and bad, How I Met Your Mother, pearls, ERMAHGERD IT’S A BERSS, everything about Ireland, more pearls, red roses, chocolate. There were many days where I couldn’t have made it through without you. Thank you for being my best friend.

To Cody Conrad: Twelve years of friendship (wow), epic horn and mello parts, a capella singing, Le Petit Negre, manhunt, ping pong, billiards, Xbox, zombies, SSBM, long walks on the beach, wait what. Whether we end up at UF together or not I know we’ll stay friends.

To Donald Hughes: Ireland roomies, long nights and days and weeks making movies, sax quartet, 12 o’clock, awesome bari playing. Gonna miss you man.

To Logan Brinkerhoff: Ireland, stuffed monkeys, laughing at the most ridiculous things, awesome flute/picc/tenor tripling, always playing as Pikachu in SSBM, inCREDible dance skillz. You’ll go so far in New York! To Tashina Potts: Trips to Universal, fabulous fashion, tons of awesome theater productions, and so much more. You were there for me when I needed you. Don’t sweat the small stuff in college.

To Alex Aramayo: Your tenor back, lots of punches, v-necks, playing every single-reed that exists, high-pitched screams.

To Caitlynn Lawler: Your soprano sax back.

To Alexandria Isais: Awesome sax and clarinet playing, double tonguing, MISS SPRUCE CREEK!, and all the saxophone and vocal solos you deserve. You’re an incredibly kind person, and I truly admire your faith. Continue to stick to what you believe in and reach for the top.

To Amanda Vazquez: Seven years of experiences together, concert band performances, jazz band performances, solos, duets, Dixieland, All County Jazz, In the Heights, trips to SeaWorld, Earth, Wind, and Fire, and trumpet playing that will take you somewhere. I hope I’ll have a chance to hear you play again.

To Ega Prasasastaprana: The 1st Alto folder and the sax quartet. Keep the traditions alive my man.

To The Saxophones: Christmas parties, manhunt on a golf course, awesome doublers (and triplers!), Careless Whisper, all the rest of the annoying songs, laying down on the grass and waving your legs, knowing when to have fun and when to get serious, and the best instrument in the world. Do anything and everything with it. To The 12 o’clock Saxophones: Epic solis, epic solos, awards at UNF, tenacious playing, doubling, tripling, Tank, that awesome buzz then the whole section is in tune, and generally being the best part of the band. Put a little practice into it and keep the tradition alive of simply shredding on every song.

I began my band or colorguard career at: The wonderful Spruce Creek High My various roles in the band or colorguard have included: Doing a little bit of everything from nothing but fun to menial, hard tasks and important things. Especially taking care of my wonderful flag line babies. My most memorable experience has been:

Being apart of such a unique program where everyone is friends and you can have a good time and always be included My favorite trip with the program: Ireland of course, it was once in a lifetime and I couldn't imagine going with any other people. It was simply amazing to me. What was your most embarrassing moment? There are way too many occasions to count and I can't pick one over the other. What are your future plans?

I will be at Daytona State for the next two years and then I'm transferring most likely to North Florida. I want to major in some form of psychiatry and child education so I can work with children that may not be mental sound and just help them and their parents for their future. If you could give a piece of advice to the underclassmen: Never make Mr. McKaig mad, or anyone else for that matter. Always respect the rules, love one another and just have fun doing something you love. Treasure the time you have with this program because it will be gone before you know it. And finally, take care of this program, never let its reputation get bad, make it get better and better at every opportunity. Last Will &Testament

I, Mara Hill, of sound mind and body, do hereby bequeath the following: To My guard senior people: hopefully, a ton of good and fun memories that we will never forget for years to come. And most importantly friendships that will never go away even though we will scatter everywhere after this I know that we always stay in touch. I love you all so much.

To Shawn McKaig: thank you for everything you have ever done for the team, and me personally. Thank you for teaching me the circle that rounds the room and how to be okay with people. You made me a much better person and I can never repay you for that. I hope (I know) that you are left with the best memories possible. And the best stories about us crazies that you can tell for years and years.

To The Colorguard as a whole: a team for you to be yourself in and have so much fun doing something amazing. Make it an escape for you like it was for me. Never mistreat it, love it, nurture it, and help it to grow.

To Everyone else: sorry but there are too many people and I was forced into doing at least something so this is all I am doing, but good luck in the future and have fun, make memories and friends like I did.

Keenan “Keke” Holbrook

I began my band or colorguard career at: Creekside Middle School My various roles in the band or colorguard have included: Tenor Saxophone Section Leader, Sass Captain My most memorable experience has been: Mr. Kidd breaking down into tears after the parade in Ireland. Any given Friday night that I got to perform a halftime show with my family. My favorite trip with the program:

Ireland... Is that seriously even a question? What was your most embarrassing moment?

Too fabulous to be embarrassed. What are your future plans? Seek a job in the area of sports medicine or sports journalism. If you could give a piece of advice to the underclassmen: Never have a dull moment in band, it’s far too fun to not appreciate it. Never strive for mediocrity, life’s too short for it to just be “ok”. Last Will &Testament

I Keenan Holbrook, of sassy mind and bodacious twerking body, do hereby bequeath the following:

To Vincent Drewes: I GIVE YOU ALLLLLLLL OF MEEEEEEEE. You’re more than a best friend; you’re truly family. You’re someone I would truly give my life for. which is why I pass on to you: my full arsenal of sass, the ability to say and do whatever you want whenever you want in band, section leader, and being able to yell “seniors!!!!….” at all major events. Keep the Keenan tradition going! I love you Bud.

To Elise Stewart: I give you whatever sass Vincent doesn’t claim, even though you really don’t need it. Thank you so much for all of your work organizing the section while I was at football you did a wonderful job and im so glad I have a friend like you, because at the end of the day every one needs an “Elise” in their life. To Donald Hughes: I give you a phone full of wonderful snapchats. Its been a real pleasure having you as a good friend and playing next to you everyday makes wind ensemble that much better. Hope I get to see you next year at Santa Fe, but if not I wish you the best of luck at Stetson.

To The Tenor Sax Section: I’m sorry I didn’t get to be around you guys as much as I wanted to but I couldn’t have asked for a better section for my senior year. Keep the tenor tradition alive: the tradition of doing WHATEVER YOU WANT… if you’re working hard.

To Sydney Hazen and Nina Abando: I leave you a promise that the Santa Fe squad will have the best four years possible in Gainesville. You guys are wonderful friends and I’m glad I get to continue a friendship with yall.

To Bobby Williams: you’re a great kid with loads of talent. I wish you the best of luck in your last two years.

To Dom Cinefro: always had a great time hanging out with you I hope you return for your last year. I promise it’s much better than junior year. Best wishes on a great senior year in 2015.

To China Loewinger: you’ll honestly be one of the people I miss the most. Ive know you for so long its gonna be tough not seeing you everyday. Youre always so easy to talk to and you’ve got this inate tendency to see the best in people and I find it really inspiring, but I digress. Have a wonderful senior year! Love you China. To The Fab Five: Sorry if I made your job a little more stressful… lol you guys did an amazing job running the band. Couldn’t have been a better group.

To Alex Aramayo: as promised.. I leave you the ability to call the prayer before every game and competition.. IF Vincent isn’t there.

To Riley Tulius: you are my spirit animal. STAY FOREVER FABULOUS. After Vincent I want you to continue the Keenan tradition: DOING WHATEVER YOU WANT WHENEVER YOU WANT as long as you are working hard.

To Every Member Of This Band: I’ve been a part of at least half a dozen different groups and none of them can even compare to the band. Its such a genuine a diverse group you cant help but feel comfortable. When I look back on high school I won’t think of the football team or of the weight team. I will think of every individual that was a part of my experience in this band. You’ve been a part of something that I will cherish the rest of my life, and I sincerely want to thank you. Even if you weren’t addressed in this letter, or didn’t talk to me much, or whatever it may be; you’re truly a part of my family. I love this program, this tradition, and most of all I love every member of this band that has made my experience possible. Go Hawks.

-Keenan Holbrook Donald Hughes I began my band or colorguard career at:

Silver Sands Middle school, where I was accidentally enrolled in Mrs. Williams top drama class. Little did I know, I was actually suppose to be next door in Mr. Williams beginning band class.

My various roles in the band or colorguard have included:

Being apart of Field Crew my sophomore year, Woodwind Marching Tech my junior year, and Saxophone section leader my senior year.

My most memorable experience have been:

To name a few: Hearing the 12 o'clock jazz band for the first time my freshmen year, being forced to sit on Creeks notoriously famous rickety stools in the aisles of a moving charter bus on its way up to UNF (thanks Colin O'Brien), getting up before dawn to set up Lakeside and then getting back home at dawn the next day, Mr. Kidd walking down the hotel halls in Ireland after curfew counting down from the top of his voice for people to get back in their rooms, playing in 12 o'clock jazz band my junior and senior years, and experiencing the senior cross dress show my first year in wind ensemble (Wow). But I can say I'm honored to have had the chance to play with great musicians and met such amazing people throughout my years, and I hope to continue our friendships for the years to come.

My favorite trip with the program:

Was Ireland, while, on our way over, I staying up the while night before, then not being able to sleeping a single bit the whole flight over. I'm definitely going to remember every experience I had over in Ireland, and I plan on going back in the future.

What was your most embarrassing moment?

My most embarrassing moment would probably of been last year during a wind ensemble practice, where I thought the best adjective to describe the bands sound was “Honorable.” I realized at that moment, it wasn't. Till this day people still bring it up.

What are your future plans? My future plans include going up to Santa Fe in Gainesville, then transferring to UF where I plan to explore fields to study in, or possibly enter the medical program.

If you could give a piece of advice to the underclassmen:

Just have fun. Be yourself and live life to the fullest. GaRRett Johnson

I began my band or colorguard career at: Rosslyn Academy High School My various roles in the band or colorguard have included:

Playing in the marching shows and the time spent in the band room while the band took a trip to Ireland. Good times. My favorite trip with the program: My trip around Kenya on which I toured for a week. The Jags game was pretty cool too. What was your most embarrassing moment?

Almost falling on my face in marching band. What are your future plans?

I will attend Liberty University College in Virginia studying English. If you could give a piece of advice to the underclassmen: Don’t wait to find what should be #1 in your life. Last Will &Testament I, Garrett Johnson, of sound mind and body, do hereby bequeath the following:

To Mason Norris: Take my jug and create a hurricane the likes of which the world has never seen (Yes, bigger than Hurricane Sandy that I caused).

To Carli Castillion: Take a little bit of my height—although I’m sure you’ll manage to succeed without it.

To Those Who Will Follow in My Footsteps: Kick off your shoes and take confident strides through life.

To Anyone I may have slighted or forgotten: Take my advice: live for today so that you may impact your tomorrow and change what your past will become. Joey Lavarias

I began my band or colorguard career at: Creekside Middle School in 6th grade. I wanted to play clarinet or flute, but my parents went to Mr. Bill Guthrie, the band director at the time, and told him to make me play the most challenging instrument. That turned out to be the bassoon. After a while, I loved it, and I’m still playing it to this day. My various roles in the band or colorguard have included:

I have been the principal bassoonist at Creek since freshman year, and I served as Woodwind Captain, Clarinet Section Leader, Woodwind Marching Tech (even though I didn’t really do anything), and head Librarian for marching band. My most memorable experience has been: My junior year, I was selected to play with the 2013 Florida All-State Symphonic Band. We performed the Pines of Rome, and the performance was immaculate. It was praised as the best performance in FMEA Conference history. I’m still very proud of the hard work that went into that performance. My favorite trip with the program: Ireland was the greatest foreign trip I have ever taken. A beautiful country. Words cannot describe how much I loved Ireland. What was your most embarrassing moment? I guess throughout high school I was never really able to control some of my emotions, and all those highs and lows were embarrassing to experience. What are your future plans?

I’m planning to study at the Eastman School of Music in Rochester, NY, with Mr. John Hunt. I will major in bassoon performance, and I will get at least my master’s degree, possibly at either Rice or Juilliard. My long term goal is to become a university/ conservatory professor. If you could give a piece of advice to the underclassmen: Don’t procrastinate, be respectful to earn respect back, and have fun! Jessica Lim Liwag

I began my band or colorguard career at: Freshman year of High School, not truly knowing what it was when I first signed up.

My various roles in the band or colorguard have included:

Officer, “Asian” and caring friend :) My most memorable experience has been:

Singing obnoxiously and out of tune with all the colorguard girls in a cramped up hallway during Music N’ Motion. We were happy and it felt amazing. My favorite trip with the program: Ireland and Disney! What was your most embarrassing moment?

Walking straight into the pole and landing face first in the auditorium during a rehearsal for the teacher performance What are your future plans? To travel the world and be happy. (And get married to Logan Lerman of course!) If you could give a piece of advice to the underclassmen: If you want to succeed as bad as you want to breathe, then you will be successful Last Will &Testament

I, Joey Lavarias, of musical mind and sexy body, do hereby bequeath the following:

To Celine Lavarias: You got this. If you need anything, don’t be afraid to call me.

To Madeleine and Milani: You know I love you guys to death, and we can spend hours talking about the amazing life we have had together. Please look after Celine for me.

To David Garey: Trio practices, ditching you at Kohl’s on Christmas Eve, and all that jazz. Stay Jewish and stay beautiful.

To Tashina Potts: I want to sincerely thank you for being the momma bird for the band all these years. I know you probably get this a lot, but you are the spirit of this band and your hard work definitely inspired me to do my best. To Amanda Vazquez.: You’re gonna rock FSU, don’t sweat it. Work hard and go far, and hopefully I’ll see you at the top someday :D To Joseph Kelemen: You’re going to see me at FSU Honors Chamber Winds anyway. Love, Eli. To Dominick Cinefro: I’m leaving now. Lots of love, Eli. To Cody Conrad: Stay sexy, and the pitch of the warning bell is an A Flat. Sincerely, your Mojo Jojo.

To Alex Aramayo: HIIIIIEEEEEEEEEEE! And the late bell is a C Natural. To Nina Abando and other azn crew: Let’s face the facts, you, Mia, Aya, and I have basically grown up as family. I really wanna keep it that way. Love y’all Filipinos, stay Asian and stay awesome!

To Fairooz Haque.: Orchestra nonsense and fun stuff, Ireland group memories (like the time we lost you for 45 minutes at the Dublin Street fair thing). And your calculator is in degree mode

To Nick Parray: Err’day you light up the viola section with your brown- ness. Keep on doing what you’re doing.

To Annie Guidubaldi: I leave you the viola section. TAKE IT WITH PRIDE, HONOR, AND A LOT OF ROSIN.

To Gary Broyles: Ireland roommate, I am addressing thee. From waking up to Pictures at an Exhibition to violent card games with Nick, Ireland was a fantastic experience together.

To Curran Andrews: Thanks for all those chocolates in TOK. I probably would have gone insane in that class if it weren’t for those.

To Amriti Singh: Chipotle and Starbucks runs, all the orchestra stuff we’ve done together, and quartet were so much fun! Good luck in college! To Deanna Silvey: You strived to make sure the clarinets were prepared for the season. You worked hard to keep their morale up. You and all the section leaders did it. I dare say it was the best marching clarinet section Creek has ever hadl. Congratulations, and bring that fighting spirit everywhere you go.

To the Marching Clarinets: I’m so proud of all of you. I had the best time this year because of all you guys. You were willing to learn and willing to fight for the best, which what makes a strong section. I will personally come back and kick all you guy’s butts if it doesn’t improve even more next year.

To Lauryn and Kaylyn: You got this, bassoons. Work super hard and never give up! Oh, and if you need help with reeds, I am just one phone call away.

To Brittney Wilson: Old buddy, old pal, old sport. We did it. Senior year has been survived, and we have so many memories together since we met in 8th grade. I don’t want to list them all, it’ll be supah long. But you know I love you and will always remember the times we had together. And BTW, our end-of-summer Disney trip still better be a thing.

To Taylor Wagner: We’ve known each other for so long, and I wouldn’t have it any other way. I still remember (still) the time your uncle stole your phone while we were talking. I STILL REMEMBER. Stay safe in the Navy, and I’ll try and visit wherever you’re stationed, hopefully! To Mason Norris: Ermahgerd, sernyer lerst werl ernd terstermernt. Well, I leave you the fact that I AM A CLOCK, MREH, MREH, MREH, MREH. And IB Music, Precalc struggles, and always remember: YOU CAN’T EAT THE ORANGE AND THROW AWAY THE PEEL! A MAN IS NOT A PIECE OF FRUIT!

To Cassidy Peters: Well, here we are. And here come the inside jokes. IT’S A FERALIGATR. I don’t see his torso, all I see is a pair of walking jeans…I think it was more like A HUNDRED YEARS….in Muicuh. Jokes aside, we have been joined at the hip since freshman year, and I wouldn’t have it any other way. You have sincerely been my best friend and the best friend I have ever had, and I will always cherish the time we spent together doing, well, whatever shenanigans we got ourselves into. Hopefully our paths will cross more than once in the future , wherever our paths take us.

Daniel Lunde

I began my band or colorguard career at: Creekside Middle School University My various roles in the band or colorguard have included: Drum Storage Captain and Member of Ancient City Ensemble. My most memorable experience has been:

Marching in the St. Patrick’s Day Parade and Performing in Dayton Ohio. My favorite trip with the program: Definitely The 2013 Ireland Tour. What was your most embarrassing moment? My freshman year when Mr. Kidd screamed at me for being super late to Pep Rally. Let’s just say I needed a change of shorts. What are your future plans? Transferring to The University of North Florida for a performance degree. And then 4 years In the United States Marine Corp Band. If you could give a piece of advice to the underclassmen:

Please slow down and enjoy the rest of your high school career. It definitely flies by quicker than you think and practice REALLY REALLY makes perfect so please please PRACTICE.  Last Will &Testament

I, Daniel James Lunde, of sound mind and a percussionist’s body, do hereby bequeath the following:

To Jess Semple: My brother, we have been through literally thick and thin. It all started back in elementary school. That place no one had ever heard of on the face of this planet. (Deepest southern sticks accent) “Samsula Elementary” was the name. We went about our daily lives back then not knowing the antics you and I would be getting into and that we would have wound up being the best of friends. Middle School was next. Our immaturity taught us a valuable lesson. There is a time and place for everything. Mr. Billy Dean really crafted us into the fine young men we are today. Talent and well being. High School for us again, was another great learning experience. We matured and have had the time of our lives here at good ole’ Spruce Creek High School. Now, here we are today, our senior year of high school has come to an end. We have billions of stories defining our friendship and an Infinite amount ahead of us. I love you man. Thank you. 

To Cristian Rodriguez: Man, you are a beast. You have the talent and the knowledge of a true leader. Working hard and positive creativity are just a few of your many talents along with rippin’ the skinz. For a sophomore, you’re pretty on point dude. Be safe on yo mota byke, keep up the great work, and never fail to impress. Love you dude.  To Tyler Montisano: T$... I remember seeing your butt in that Silver Sands Middle School band polo my freshman year of Creek on middle school night. Your Long Black emo hair made me think we were all doomed here in the percussion section at Spruce Creek. The 2012-2013 quad line was by far one of the best quad lines we have ever had here at Spruce Creek in a very, VERY long time. Jess and I couldn’t have done it without you. We have had many great memories throughout our high school career. You’ve turned out to be an extremely helpful and well educated young man. Keep drumming and don’t have too much fun senior year ;)

To Juan-Diego Baucom: I’m just going to say this juan time but you are the juan who really is the definition of a member of SCP. No juan came into the program as quiet as you did. There are numerous memories of us together and whenever every juan hung out, If you weren’t there, we wouldn’t be together as juan. You turned out to be a very friendly and smart individual who loves drums and loves hanging out with his bros. Keep on drumming man! Let the SCP spirit live juan! 

To Luke Leuterio: Tong. ACE. LUKE PUKE. Dude, so you are one of the funniest guys I’ve met and I’d like to say it was a pleasure playing on the same Line as you this year and a pleasure performing with you with ACE. You’ve made some amazing progress with quads. Definitely keep it up man  You are extremely smart and extremely talented. You also work hard at what you do and Love what you do making you a critical part of SCP. I love you dude. Keep drumming!!

To Kyle Smith: Bro, what a journey… we’ve finally made it. My whole career at Spruce Creek would not have been the same without you! You’ll always be considered one of my brothers. Loving cars and playing drums is what we love to do and I’m so glad to have done that with you. Have a ton of fun in Spain and keep drumming mayne! 

To Joshie Rankinberg: Joshie poo! You are a very special part of SCP in my eyes. Thank you for being sort of a role model for me. You have worked hard drumming and completing school work and still have had enough time to have fun. Lol I respect that man. Keep up the hard work on quads and keep drumming!!! ;)

To Kris Casey: You turned out to be a pretty cool dude Kris. I’ve seen a lot of progress from you starting in middle school, man have you hit the gym lol. Keep using your “Casey” powers to attract those women. I think it works dude. Keep drumming and definitely let the SCP spirit live on!!! 

To Brandon Steinman: Dear Brandon, Butt. That would pretty much be the definition of our relationship. Brandon freaking Kyle freaking Steinman…. You are my bro and always will be. We first really met in middle school in the All County Bands. Those were some of the best performances of my life and you were a part of those. Never forget that. Another one of the essential pieces to the SCP Brotherhood would be you. You always know how to make everyone die on the floor laughing. 12 o’clock Jazz band and wind ensemble would never be the same without you. You are an extremely responsible, educated, and talented young fellow. And will always succeed in no matter what you do. You have made my stay at Spruce Creek High a remarkable one and I thank you. You are also a very top notch leader. Never stop drumming. EVER. I love you dude!!  Cristian and you play nice now. ;) haha p.s. Pat says hello! To Alex Lacerna: Hey man, keep up the good work. Never stop practicing and never stop seeking to impress. You have made great progress this year. Don’t let Jess or I down now. ;) You’re one of my favorite freshman dude.

To Santiago Gutierrez: Outstanding Job on bass 5 this year man. You have worked your butt off in academics and percussion. One of the hardest working students and friend I know. Keep drumming! And I hope you get Drum Major next year 

To Jacob Stumpf: Hey Buddy. Why are you reading this? You should be practicing. Jacob, good luck to you in the future, keep drumming and never stop trying bud. You’ll get there one day. ;)

To Jake Farmwald: Yacob, I BID YOU FAREWELL. We’ve had a great time in this prison called “Spruce Creek” lol you are an outstanding young man. And you have improved in percussion so much… It’s scary… haha You led the pit last year in a way I’ve never, ever seen a leader do. Props to you my man. I’m so glad you were a part of my High school career and I thank you my friend..  Keep drumming and

To Ashe Moll: Ashe… You are the cat’s meow. That pretty much sums you up. On top of being an amazing leader and saying the down right, funniest puns and remarks, you have been a special part of my High school career so I thank you! Keep drumming and I hope to see you piloting our future space craft!  Love ya dude! To Freshman Percussion Students: Practice. You can accomplish anything you want as long as you are dedicated and are willing to work hard for it. Go the extra mile to be ahead of those who decide it’s too difficult and the feeling you get when you succeed will be the greatest reward you can receive. Kill it, and have the time of your lives!!! -Jess and Lunde

Mason Robert Norris

I began my band or colorguard career at: Cuchetti School of Music, 3rd grade. I started playing trombone, no joke, because I saw a picture of a trombonist in my math textbook and it looked pretty fun to eight- year-old me. My various roles in the band or colorguard have included:

My freshman year I was hopeless in marching band, pitiful in concert band, and THE trombone player in 10 O’Clock Band. Not the best one. The only one. Sophomore year was a bit better, as I moved up into 12 O’Clock because of a conflict with my schedule. I tried out twice times to be section leader, only to be denied the role. I eventually made field crew senior year, basically in charge of whatever everybody else forgot. I’ve also served as Director of Fun for the trombone section for two or three years. My most memorable experience has been:

This is a tough one. I have so many wonderful experiences with this program; to pick only one seems a travesty. There was the Monkey of Galway. The pants incident (see below). But I don’t think anything I have done in band has affected me today as much as meeting one person, whom I have spent the last wonderful year with. I met Brittney freshman year, but it was just a Facebook-friend sort of thing for the longest time. We really started talking last year, and as I got to know her, she became my best friend. Fast forward to band banquet, and I spent roughly an hour trying to build up the courage to ask her to be my girlfriend. And I don’t think I shall ever forget how wonderful it has been ever since. My favorite trip with the program: Considering I chose my college major to a large degree because of it, and because most other people will be listing it as theirs, I have to pick Ireland. It was honestly the most beautiful place I have ever seen. When I took that trip overseas with the band, I expected a great deal of things. I expected to get all of my make-up work done and to read The Hobbit and to spend every dime of my money on souvenirs. When our flight touched down at Dublin International thirteen hours later, however, everything changed. The grey sky shedding thin spring snow above me was new and unfamiliar. There was beauty in every pothole and puddle, and something I could not recognize beamed from the pale and cold-blushed faces of every person on the street. I will never forget the spring snow that fell sideways onto soccer pitches. The ancient musk of one forgotten antique shop in a forgotten alleyway. The afternoon sunlight, filtered through the foliage of innumerable trees, falling on a quiet park in Dublin. These images remain locked in my mind, like Romantic masterpieces, beautiful in their scenes of tranquility, both human and natural. My experiences in Ireland changed my life because they taught me to appreciate the beauty that lies in the simplest aspects of life, and inspired me to bring beautiful things into this world. What was your most embarrassing moment?

Late in the winter of my freshman year, it was time for the annual trip to UNF for the Jazz fest there. Smart freshman-year Mason decided it was a good idea to put his tuxedo in a garment bag to change into on the bus. The problem? I. Didn’t. Check. In. The. Bag. Before. I. Left. My. House. So we’re 15 minutes out of Jacksonville, and there I am. No pants. After Mr. Kidd and everyone else on the bus proceeded to flip their s**t, I had to borrow a pair. From a senior girl. The best part? I didn’t know my own pants size, so they were four sizes too small. I performed that day in someone else’s tuxedo pants, fly open. What are your future plans? Next year I plan to attend THE Florida State University in Tallahassee, working towards a Bachelor’s degree in Creative Writing while avoiding my brother as much as I can. After that, I will probably travel to Kanto to finally realize my dream of becoming a Pokémon master go to grad school out of state to do something related; I’m not quite sure yet. If you could give a piece of advice to the underclassmen:

Do what you love, and don’t let anyone harass you for it. Take every opportunity you can while you can. Not to be cliché, but you do only live once, as far as science can confirm. Listen to the Mountain Goats. Great band. And please don’t forget your pants. Last Will &Testament

Note: I did these the day before the deadline, so I’m sorry if I’ve left anybody out in my haste. I organized these (mostly) alphabetically to avoid any favoritism, except the obvious. I, Mason Robert Norris, of some sort of mind mind and body, do hereby bequeath the following:

To Alexandra Isais: Congrats on making Mrs. Spruce Creek! You earned it. You’ve been an amazing performer in band and winter guard, and I really do hope you make drum major. Maybe one day you can follow in your brother’s footsteps and cheer at football games covered in glitter. Or not. Your call.

To Amanda Vazquez: We’ve had some great memories together, from freshman year, to Jazz camp at FSU (Barnhart band REPRESENT), to Dixieland, and I will perhaps never forget the time you hopped in the trunk of my car and yelled, “TAKE ME TO THE BORDER!” Best wishes, and I hope you make it big someday. PS IF YOU DO BECOME FAMOUS PLEASE GIVE ME CONCERT TICKETS KTHXBAI

To Avatar Amriti Singh: Cappiello’s class last year was just the best. You’re an amazing violinist and an amazing friend. I hope to someday see your name in lights, or on a cover, or wherever you want it to be, I suppose. Have an excellent life.

To Andrew Lenois: You remind me a lot of myself freshman year. Like, almost exactly. Therefore, I’d like to offer you the following advice from my past four years: Practice your music. More than once a week. Join some more clubs, and get involved. Don’t procrastinate. Or at least try not to. Let your hair grow out. Talk to girls, they’re not as terrifying as you think they are. Don’t do drugs. The only drug I ever needed was FRIENDSHIP. Best of luck in this crazy world, I hope you make the best of it.

To Annie Guidabaldi: I have to admit, I did not even know your first name until Holly and Ellen’s party last year. But I have to say, you’ve been a great friend (at least I have someone to talk to in Phillips’ class). I hope your senior year isn’t unbearable, which is about all one can hope for, I suppose. It’ll be over before you know it. Also, sorry if I ever third-wheeled it between you and Gary. YOU TWO ARE JUST SO CUTE. In conclusion, Coconut Coconut Coconut Coconut Coconut Coconut Coconut Coconut Coconut Coconut Coconut Coconut Coconut Coconut Coconut Coconut Coconut Coconut Coconut Coconut Coconut Coconut Coconut Coconut Coconut Coconut Coconut Coconut Coconut.

To Ben Weinrich: You and Marr probably take my vote for cutest junior band couple. Just stay away from Bob Evans. Best of luck in the future.

To Brian Behrens: Oh, Brian. You’ve had to deal with my antics for what, two years now?? You just couldn’t BEHR it, I suppose. Haha. Puns aside, you’re an excellent human being and I wish you best of luck in the future.

To Caleeb Hinkle: Throughout this year, you’ve simply been a bright ray of sunshine, always putting a smile on my face. Not to sound overly optimistic, but I know you can do whatever you set your heart to. I hope your next three years will be a blast. Never ever forget to be awesome. To Carli Castillon: CARLI! I’ve known you so long; I remember when you were just a wee little… oh, wait, that was yesterday. Jokes aside, you’ve been a great 3rd trombone buddy. To you I bestow the solemn duty to preserve the historic artwork in the folder. You’re a great player, and exactly the sort of leader that makes me feel confident about the future of the band. Best of luck with the next two years and beyond.

To Cassidy Peters: I remember when Mr. Cuchetti teased me about you becoming my girlfriend. I remember freshman year, when I actually had a hopeless crush on you. Those days, fortunately, have passed. Your constant sarcasm and surreal sense of humor always make me laugh. You were the one who got me back into playing Pokémon games, so I guess I should blame the resulting lack of sleep/higher grades on you, but nah, son. You’re also a hella fine clarinet player, and I’ve enjoyed playing in Dixieland with you and performing exchanging snapchats in Jazz band. PRAISE HELIX. And good luck in college.

To Celine Lavarias: I just wanted to apologize for all of the crap you’ve had to put up with after school (e.g., me jumping into the backseat of your brother’s car at least once a week). Best Wishes.

To Cody Conrad: Thanks for playing along with all of my unbearable jokes. It’s really a shame that I didn’t get to know you better. But overall, I think you’re a pretty cool guy. I hope that wherever you go in life, you find happiness there.

To Curran Andrews: It’s been a pleasure being in the dwindling bass section with you. You’re a pretty smart guy, Curran. Best of luck wherever you end up going. To David (Benny) Garey: Since 10 o’clock band, freshman year, I’ve always been there right behind you. Quite literally: I can draw the back of your head quite well now. You play sax like a god and you have the voice of an angel (I’m still waiting on David Garey Garey Sings the Hits II). And we had some good times in Physics last year. Thanks for being our esteemed band captain, and good luck wherever life takes you. Probably to Universal.

To Dillon Wilson: Thanks for all of your advice and companionship. You’re an amazing bassist, and I can’t wait to see what you’ll do with that talent. NO PRESSURE! Best wishes.

To Dominic Cinufro: To you I finally bequeath the other half of our shared locker. Use it well. Best of luck senior year, you’ll probably need it. I sure did. May there always be grilled cheese on your cactus and a crocodile in your bathtub. As they say in England, G’day Snmgfiehp!

To Eric Weinrich: Eric, I’d just like to say that it was a pleasure sleeping with you. In the hotel, in Ireland, of course. You’ve been a great friend, and we had some good times on that trip. Best of luck, buddy.

To Erika Cooley: Erika, you’re one of the best pianists I’ve seen at Spruce Creek (or any high school, for that matter). You’re really smart, and ToK with you has been pretty fun. I hope your life will be full of great things.

To Garett Johnson: Garett, it’s been a pleasure to have known you. That composition at Prism just showed me what amazing potential you have. I know wherever you end up, you will be a success. Best wishes. To Gary Broyles: I’ve enjoyed our friendship, from Catan coalitions to Ma’Oregonian mischief, to Splash Mountain moistness. It just occurred to me that most people will have no idea of what I’m talking about here, but whatever. You’re one of the smartest people I’ve ever met, and I know you will succeed in whatever you end up doing. Just please GET A SNAPCHAT SO I CAN SEND YOU FRIVOLOUS PICTURES. If you’d ever like to get together sometime in the future, give me a call. I’ve got the bananas if you’ve got the bathtub. I’ll meet you at the Port Authority, and we’ll drink a toast to the Üplander, Re-Education Camp #4, and the great, contemporary times we’ve had together. Best Wishes, and Hail Smith!

To Jay’quan Miller: You are a pretty cool kid (You already have more Instagram followers than me). If you really wanted it, I could see you becoming drum major or band captain in a few years. Or, perhaps, Color guard captain. Who knows. What I do know is that you can toss about 6,000 times better than me. Best of luck with the rest of high school, and wherever life takes you afterwards.

To Joey Lavarias: I’ve known you since freshman year, and you have been one of my best friends ever since. Thank you for the gift of your company. You’re just a wonderful person to be around. And I’ve heard professional musicians with less skill than you. I just know that you’re going to be a huge success. Just don’t forget about the little people when you are ;) Best wishes, and good luck.

To Logan Brinkerhoff: Logan, I’m sincerely extremely glad that I met you. You’re always great to be around, because you just exude positivity. I hope you have a wonderful life ahead. To Michelle Henning: It’s really a shame that we never got together for that Jazz combo. But I’m sure that you’re not quite finished with the piano yet, because you have some serious skills. Good luck, in wherever life takes you.

To Miles Truslow: I’ve known you probably longer than anyone else on this list. I remember when you were small and adorable. Or at least smaller and adorable-er. It was my pleasure carpooling with you, and best of luck in the grand adventure that is high school.

To Michael Lira Racing: You are a crazy good trombone player. It’s not just that I admire it. I’m jealous. Tell me your secrets. All of them. Seriously though, it’s been fun. Thanks for all the good times. Someday, you’ll be in the big leagues. Or whatever the big leagues are, but for motorsports. Sorry, that’s just not my métier. But I’ll be cheering for you.

To Nina Abando: When I was thinking of people to include here, you were candidate number one (GET IT? I’m so funny.). Even though we’re not the best of friends, you’re super nice, and one of the people that made being in this band one of the best experiences of my life. Best Wishes.

To Sarah Farmwald: I’m glad that #farmwaldfriday (kind of) became a thing, because you are awesome enough to deserve your own day. You are a great musician, a great friend, and super freaky smart. I’m certain that you’ll get a PhD in hyper-calculus, or something like that. Best of luck to you..

To Sydney Levy: Your mother is one of the nicest people I’ve ever met. Some day I will pay her back for everything she did for us in Ireland. Tell her I said thank you. And thank you as well. For having the chance to know you. Ever since middle school, you have been one of the nicest people I’ve known, not to mention a fantastic musician. I know you’re going to be successful, no matter what you set your mind to. Best wishes.

To Taylor Wagner: Since we were both freshmen, you’ve just been an awesome person all around. Thanks for being awesome, and I’m glad I got to know you even better this past year. Trombone seniors, yeah! Best of luck in the Navy, sailing the seven seas. I hope you put your mind at ease, and I’m proud of you for taking a stand, to protect the motherland. In the Navy ~♪

P.S.: Sorry about Brittney not being a lesbian. You two would make a cute couple.

To Brittney Wilson: Oh my. How do I even begin this one? I expect a lot of people will just look for this one when they see my name. Probably because you have affected my life more than anyone else on this list over the last year. Sorry, Joey. While I could just make this an anthology of every inside joke we have (You smell like water; the ‘love tap’; board games, etc.), I really want to let you know how much I appreciate you. I’m so glad that we had Cappiello’s class together last year and I got the chance to know you (as opposed to just being Facebook friends). If you hadn’t made me talk to you all those months ago (that’s like, 5/12 of a year), who knows where I would be right now. We have been through a lot. And I just don’t know how to summarize it to fit in here. But I want everyone to know how fantastic you are. I want everyone to know how perfect you have been for me. This year has probably been the best of my life, because I got to spend it with you. Thank you. For everything. All of the sad times, all of the heartbreak, all of the pain has been worth it. Because the good times outnumber the bad tenfold. Every ordinary day spent with you has been extraordinary. And for that I can’t thank you enough. Someday, I promise I will find that puppy to rent for you. I know you will do great things someday. You are extremely intelligent. You finished four years of IB, that has got to count for something. And you are also amazingly kind. I hope you are able to fulfill every one of your dreams. And I hope I can be there, every step of the way. I know that we will be together for a long time. I know that I want to. You’re not just my high school girlfriend. This is my first relationship. Ever. And that’s not something I am likely to forget anytime soon. I consider myself extremely lucky for finding a person as wonderful as you (Well, not so much finding as being forcibly introduced to). I consider myself the luckiest man in the world to have you. I’m not perfect. But I hope that I can always be the person someone as sweet and caring and lovely as you deserves.

Here’s to a bright future for the both of us. After all, it isn’t that far from Tallahassee to Pensacola. P.S.: Did I mention that I love you?

To everyone not included on this list: I’m deeply sorry that I didn’t have time to write about all of the wonderful people I’ve met during my four years here. My biggest regret is probably not getting to know some of you better, because you’re pretty amazing. You are the ones that make this program great. Not just the leaders. Everyone. Best wishes to you all, and I hope your lives are all fantastic. It’s a blessing just to have the opportunity to have been here.

To Robert Bosma: It’s only been a year, but I have sincerely enjoyed having you as our new associate band director. It’s not easy to follow up a dynasty of almost 30 years, but you’ve done your very best and the hard work has shown. Thank you. And if you’re wondering who was writing on your car in blue window marker, yeah, that was me. April Fools.

To John J. Dupuis: I still remember “raise the fiz’ith”. Thank you for all the good memories, and, yes, even the unbearable jokes. I’m sure you’ll continue that capital-T Tradition, and I’ll be sure to come back and see for myself.

To all football program ads: Good riddance. I’m thankful that I don’t have to put up with you anymore.

To my loyal, steadfast trombone: Thanks for being mostly reliable in the six years we’ve been together. Maybe one of these days I’ll get your slide fixed. Hopefully I’ll find the time to practice over the summer. Maybe.

To the band room: Thank you for being a second home, a sanctuary, and, yeah, even a cafeteria. Sorry about that. Some of my best memories take place inside you. That sounds creepy, but it’s true. When they finally tear you down along with the rest of that relic of the 1970s known as Spruce Creek High School, your spirit will remain in ten thousand hearts.

To Andrew Kidd: Thank you for dedicating your life to enriching lives such as mine with the gift of music. I will certainly always remember your analysis of Ravel’s Bolero, among other fantastic experiences. Enjoy your retirement. You’ve earned it. P.S.: You still owe me one Euro. To Dr. Dean Musson: The lessons you taught me are invaluable, and I will never forget them. Rest in peace, wherever you may be now.

You dirty memelord.

To Sarah Farm(turd)wald: sarah farmturd! meeting when dupuis moved you into the second clarinets sophomore year, you abandoning the marching clarinets (which i should have done), our fake fights like every day, the first clarinet group text when only one of us shows up for class, the tico tico quintet, too many turds to count, your awesome clarinet christmas parties every year, being in the same spanish class freshman year, the book of holcomb's crazy stories you made, sra. shoultz's descent into insanity, reading taryn's blog after the christmas party junior year, trying to convince you to join my quartet like every year, cringing at out of tune piccolo, all hail the council oak, and last but certainly not least, #FARMWALDFRIDAY To Liz(turd)zie Polhill: LANGSAM. coprincipal clarinet swag, playin dat second alto in 12 o clock, count boobz, mispronouncing song names in band, zig zum munster, six, six, six, disco christmas, annoying underclassmen in marching season, complaining about people in wind ensemble and 12 o clock, woodwind supremacy, you having to play my solos when i miss class, langsam, get it on in 12 o clock, all hail council oak, oak is love, oak is life, hating marching band, your risque tumblr ;), that one time at lakeside my junior year when we had to break into the school to get dixieland folders, luminaries, your adorable dog, your sassy black nails, dancing in 12 o clock, putting lettuce on emily when she was asleep, and your many changing names on twitter. And langsam.

To Britt(urd)ney Wilson: confusion about how colorguard works, many after school dinners, driving me to your home after the winterguard show, playing careless whispers outside mason's house, knocking over the cereal on your car floor, the many interesting "trinkets" in your car (dead flower, cough medicine, a single french fry...), interesting conversations at lunch every day, you not understanding pokemon, hearing your intense stories about colorguard rehearsal, shoving an illegal amount of people in your car (on multiple occasions), "what are you, some kind of line or stick or something?", hearing more than i would like to about... things, passover at tristan's house, "you may say... i'm a meme-er, but i'm not the only one", comic sans, you being far too obsessed with doge, your awesome cat, that time we had movie night with "da crew" at your house (and neighbors), your amazing hair skills, and you being one of the realest people i know.

To Daniel Masters: You are definitely the coolest underclassman I've ever met. In the short time we've known each other, we've shared some awesome times! Between luminaries and our three classees together, I've come to find you remind me so much of myself, especially when I was a sophmore, it's ridiculous haha. I wish you all the best in your future endeavors, especially music, because you are an amazing trombonist and I can't wait to see what you become in the next couple of years. I'm pumped to see 12 o' clock at UNF next year, you better have a solo! (and don't lose your bowtie!)

To Em(turd)ily Loweinger: You falling asleep in wind ensemble and on the bus home from the football games (and us putting lettuce on you), the first clarinet group text, the marching clarinet section, loweener, abandoning you when none of the first clarinets come to class, and you getting me for the clarinet christmas party for two years (i use that coffee cup all the time).

To Ega Prasastaprana: ega... you're something. you're such a character, and everyone thinks that you look like joey from far away. my grandma has mistaken you for joey before. you saying that i have a bald spot, and that i sometimes i look slightly asian, and watching your saxophone slowly die like it has a terminal illness, and you pretending to steal the screws out of my saxophone. To Amanda Vazquez: dixieland and impressive memorization skills, awesome marching solos, you always are a ball of sunshine and your passion for music is unparalleled in our program (except for maybe joey). good luck in all of your musical endeavors, and i hope you make that big band one day and become the next maynard ferguson or dizzy gillespie! To Daniel Lunde: going to the same kindergarten and reuniting in high school, awesome solos in dixieland that make the crowd go insane, incredible percussion skills, being adorable with breanna, first chair in all county two years in a row (or more?) and all around awesomeness. Also you're an amazingly talented violinist and incredibly intelligent too and all around great and an awesome person, and I miss you fifth period every day!! To Amriti Singh: Amriiiiti! You are an amazing talent and I love how you take bs from no one. You are one (heck) of a violin player and I will never forget our days in IB music with Joey and Gary, I miss you guys! To Gary Broyles: I miss being in fifth period with you too! You're so smart and going to go so far in life, and you and Annie are absolutely adorable and I'm glad I got to witness it all start in Ireland in our awesome group! To Annie Guidubaldi: Annie, you are so adorable and talented, not only on viola but on piano as well! I miss our talks about astrology though and our gemini-ness! :) Keep the viola section strong with Nick and everyone else when Joey and I are gone! To Nick Parray: Be the father of the viola section next year, I know you can do it. It's amazing how much you've improved in such little time! Get that first stand part! To Dan Silverio: From the little time we've known each other, you seem like a really awesome guy! I regret not talking to you more in fifth and sixth period, but you seem really funny from some of the sarcastic remarks I've heard you make! I wish you all the best in whatever it is you choose to do in the future, and continue to expand your UCONN t-shirt collection! To Alex Rasmussen: hating the world together, making fun of our peers, having the same pessimisstic sense of humor, cute animals, pictures of cute animals, loving cute animals, and only cute animals, no humans, astrology talks, that one picture of us in ireland in the snow, being thug (not being thug at all), you being homecoming queen or something like that, and hating marching band with a burning passion. To Joseph Keleman: You are an awesome and super talented guy, and you also seem really funny! I'm looking forward to hearing about where your music career goes (and seeing all of Creek's performances on your mom's youtube channel!). And I swear to you, one day I WILL watch that episode of the Boondocks (my subscription ran out I waited so long). To Vincent Imbimbo: From the little bit we've talked, you seem like a really funny and down to earth person, and I'm so grateful to you for playing with Dixieland. It really means a lot to us seniors to see that group through until our graduation. I wish you all the best in your future years at Creek and beyond! To Michelle Henning: I miss our seventh period together with Sarah this year! That class was so much fun haha. I admire your piano skills so much and your all around chill-ness. It was so awesome getting to play with you in the pit for In the Heights as well! I definitely wish you the best for the future! To Erika Cooley: Erika! We were never all that close personally, but I've always admired your passion and drive for music, as well as your social/ environmental awareness! It's always nice to see other peers that care about those things as well :) And I know exactly what it feels like to be told music isn't a real job, etc etc, and I know that you certainly will defy all those odds and show those people how wrong they are. I'm looking forward to seeing you at UNF, and hopefully I can keep up and maybe we'll get to play in a jazz band together again! To Deanna Silvey: "reverse score order? ... i'm going to kill myself", section leader-ing, you being the only section leader that ever talked lol, your cat hiding under your blanket after that one sectional, that one time i needed a ride home after all county and got dragged to max's dorm with you guys, 12 o clock this year, clarinet choirs/ woodwind choirs, and you laughing at my morbid sense of humor (see above) To Jordan Blair: Here's to the most awesomest freshman of the year. Honestly you are so mature, none of us even think of you as a freshman, we just see you as our friend, which is truly saying something. Even from when I started teaching you, I knew you were gonna be popular at Creek! Keep up your awesome work, and btw those cookies were awesome and I still have your little letter to the section leaders on a corkboard in my room! :,) To Zach Doherty: Little Awkward, just remember, everyone poops. To Tashina Potts: You are just bedazzled perfection. You are by far the most fabulous person I know, and your fabulosity is truly just beyond words. Wherever you go in life I know you will WERK and I hope you have a fabulously amazing time at Flagler next year. Just don't forget me when you make it big in NYC! To Elijah Barnes: Honestly I've only talked to you a couple times, but you seem like a really nice dude and you seem really cool and down to earth as well! If I could put a sunglasses emoji here I would, but that basically sums it up haha. Stay awesome! To Brandon Peterson: You're really smart and talented, and we've had some good converations. Just don't let that go to your head, because as long as you stay down to earth you can be a pretty cool guy. Just don't become a dudebro. To Berke Stavoy: Berke! Don't let the world get you down. You're an awesome, funny, and incredibly intelligent guy, and don't let anyone else tell you otherwise! You are going to go so far in life and that's what matters. Don't let the h8rs get 2 u. To Sydney Hazen: We've never really talked before this year, but you're a really smart and funny person! I really enjoy talking to you and Elise, and I appreciate your sassiness and that you favorite some of the cute animal posts I retweet haha! To Raileigh Duschen: We never really see each other anymore except in passing in the locker room, but I still think you and Eli are adorable and you are a great flute player. Also your fashion sense is adorable! U da best. To Nina Abando: We go so far back, even back to playing basketball in middle school... what a time, to say the least! Haha. You are like a ray of sunshine in the band room and I'm so glad we could meet and become friends in high school. I wish you the best in whatever it is you choose to do in life! To Cristian Rodriguez: Lab partners for life, ride or die. To Chad Johnson: Chad you are just adorable. Keep doing all those things it is that you do, and be the clarinet mac daddy once Joey leaves. You can do it! To Alex Aramayo: You are just like. A tornado. Of you-ness. You are probably one of the sassiest people I know and your bass clarinet skills are killer. Keep it up next year, they are going to need you so bad lol. Also, I hope that one part from my quartet piece that you hated so much haunts you for life :) To Katarina Figueroa: Honestly I don't even know if I'm allowed to write to you at this point, but I don't really care either. After getting to know you in 12 o clock this year I'm glad to see that all the things people say about you really are just haters lol. You are honestly one of the funniest people I know, and I love having another social activist around to talk about stupid white/ priveleged people to. Keep doing your thing , you're great. To Elizabeth Veillux: I truly thank you for brightening up some of our marching rehearsals with your completely hilarious antics, and I also truly thank you for favoriting so many of my corgi pictures on twitter. To Mitchell Horbrooke: Truly one of the most noble and amazing people I've met in this program. Though he lives in the shadows, he's alive in each and every one of our hearts to this day. Thank you, Mitchell, for teaching me so much of what I know today, not only as a musician, but as a person. You have truly been a friend to me, even in my darkest of times. You are a real friend, and I know you are one friend I will keep far beyond high school, and your legacy will live on through the ages. I love you, Mitchell Horbrooke. To The Clarinet Section: Well.... we've shared some of the best and some of the worst times together. We've needed come to Jesus meetings, had parties, made cliques, and come together all in the course of a couple years. We're really like a family, hating each other at times, but never really meaning it, and coming together when we needed to and really bonding over our differences (which there are CERTAINLY a lot of in such a huge section). Good luck, you guys are always the biggest section, so let the band know it and never let them walk over you! I love you all. Best wishes! To Band Seniors: Well... we've certainly been through a lot together. Good, bad, excellents, superiors, happy times, sad times, transitional times... We've been at the center of it all. From when Dr. Musson and Mr. Kidd ruled the band, to having Steiner and Dr. Musgrave run our class for a while, to finding a new director and handling all the changes that came with him, to Mr. Kidd's retirement, and finally to welcoming Mr. Bosma into the fold. It's truly been a turbulent four years in our program, but I wouldn't want it any other way, with any other people. You guys are truly some of the most amazing, most talented, most intelligent people I have and will probably ever meet. I'm sure throughout the years we've all had our spats and arguments and disagreements, but in the end, we're all part of the same era, and share the same memories, and cherish these same memories. I wish all of you the absolute best, and you all absolutely deserve it. To Mr. Dupuis: Thank you so much for being a part of my early music career. A lot of your teachings have helped shaped me into the musician I am today, and for that I am truly grateful. I hope with your leadership that the band and orchestra continue to grow and achieve even more amazing things. To Mr. Bosma: Though the time I have had you as an instructor has been short, I am eternally grateful to you for widening the horizons of our jazz program so immensely. I have throroughly enjoyed playing such a diverse set of literature this year, and I feel like I have become an even better musician because of it. To Mr. Kidd: An amazing teacher, director, musician, and person. You have taught me so much about what it means to be a musician, and what it takes to get there. The road was not always easy, but we always made it happen, and we always made those straight superiors. I am so immensely proud to have had the privelege to be one of your students, and it is an honor that I will never forget throughout my whole music career. Thank you so much. MeMeHaMeFoStyCo for life. (I will also never forget that saxophone is indeed, NOT a real instrument). To Dr. Musson: Though the time I spent as your student was short, I will never forget the fun I had playing in your band. You had a way of always making band fun, no matter how hard we had to work. You were also always, always “in the mix” with us, your students, and we felt comfortable coming to you with any questions or things we needed to talk about. You also taught me one very important life lesson- that the way we percieve things will change how we deal with them, and eventually will help in achieving a positive outcome. Remember- “It's not a problem, just a minor setback”. Rest in peace, Dr. Musson, one of the brightest and most amazing people I've ever had the honor of meeting. We've done everything in honor of you these past three years. To Black Santa: Please stay ever watchful and vigilant over the band room, and continue to give us your blessings for years to come.

ADEle Pietras

I began my band or colorguard career at: At Spruce Creek high School when all my friends thought it was a good idea to join for fun, I had no idea what colorguard was at the time but blindly joined anyways which was the best decision of my high school life! My various roles in the band or colorguard have included:

Junior year I was co-captain but my duties were not very pronounced as I let the seniors take over and stepped back that year but senior year I became a captain and hopefully one that can be a role-model in all of the underclassmen eyes My most memorable experience has been: It would have to be my senior year while walking away from our final winterguard show. It hit me that this would be the last time ever I would perform with this group and no matter the little mistakes or errors made during the show I know that I was proud for what we put out there. My favorite trip with the program:

Would have to be Ireland! I will never forget all the new friends in band I made in a matter of days and I have never felt closer to being a united group in the program. What was your most embarrassing moment? My most embarrassing moment was in Ireland on our last day when we went this natural park with huge trees and mountain paths. As I got off the bus and started walking with Jessica to the park a random freshman came over and started talking and walking with us. Thinking that she knew him I kept on walking and talking with jess and this freshman. Half way through I whispered to her, ‘do you know this guy,’ she responds, ‘I thought you did,’ and so we slowly but awkwardly began to ditch him which was so weird at the time but hilarious as a memory I’ll never forget. What are your future plans? In the future I hope to spin in an independent guard but will probably focus on school and research a couple of years with my main focus on epigenetics and inheritance in large animals, and no that does not mean zoo animals like an elephant. Hopefully after my bachelor’s degree is obtained I will have enrolled into the vet school at Colorado State and have moved into Colorado which I hope to remain in for life. If you could give a piece of advice to the underclassmen:

I would tell them that Kim is not as intimidating as she seems at all. That if they wait it out through the heat of field season they will be greatly awarded during winterguard and it will be an amazing experience you can have in high school. Last Will &Testament

I,Adele Pietras, of euphoric mind and elated body, do hereby bequeath the following:

To Chloe: I give you all the memories and gifts and love that only a big sis can give. I love you girl and I hope to see you in the future as an amazing baton and flag spinner! To Elsa: I give to you the power of creativity but I know you don’t need it. You, cupcake queen, are such a unique and talented person that is willing to try anything and even make up your own tricks on the spot. I know you will do amazing things for this guard.

To Morgan: I give you something really special… you may not know what it is yet but trust me you will! I see so much potential in you and I can’t wait to see you your senior year!

To Skylar: I give you the promise of a front walk over while tossing a 6 and catching it solid! I know you can do it girl and I can’t wait to see how you grow.

To Destany: I give you courage to get up on that stage and shin in the spotlight. Upon first meeting you, you were a little timid but now I know you’re an amazing singer and you need to show it girl! I hope to see you in guard for the years to come!

To Precious: I give you the promise of staying safe and being amazing, which you always are. I hope you stay with the program and become the awesome spinner I know you will be. I love you girl and I promise to come back and visit.

To Courtney: I give you all my rifle skills and passion because you were amazing this year. I see a true strong weapon of you and I can’t wait to come back in the years to come to see how you grow. To Caitlyn: I give you all my sabre skills because even though you struggled this year you were resilient and stubborn to get things right which is awesome when it comes to how scary sabre is. I know you will be a powerful sabre spinner in the future you just have to believe in yourself and practice! I know you can do it!

To Jay: I give you my awesome freshman award! I have to say out of all the freshmen I’ve seen you are the first that comes off as not being a freshman which is awesome! Also keep up the colorguard skills, who knows maybe Mckaig will make an exception.

To Alex aramayo: I give you OOOOOO. Enough said….

To Elijah: I give you a thank you because although I didn’t get to know you until this year you’ve given me some pretty awesome memories so thanks!

To Kyleigh: I give you my dancing award! Girl you got called out so many times this year for being fabulous so I had to give you a shout out! You’ve really grown since freshman year and I know you’ll be amazing your senior year!

To Megan: I give you a fabulous promise of an amazing senior year! You’ve got a great team this coming year and I know you’ll make then work harder and become even better than this year. Wish you all the best!

To All the seniors: I give you the promise of reunion because although there may be some of you I don’t know too well or some that I may not talk to in years we will always be connect by this program and in that sense we will never part. We shall always see ourselves and our loved ones in our daily lives because this is an experience I know and I hope for all of you will stay with you for life. I love everyone I have ever met and I hope to at least met and see all of you again in the future.

Tashina Potts

I began my band or colorguard career at:

Sugar Mill Elementary in 4th grade with clarinet lessons from Mrs. Scaccia My various roles in the band or colorguard have included:

I Was a quarter master my 10th grade year and a Drum Major for my junior and senior year. My most memorable experience has been: Leading the Dublin St. Patrick’s day parade with Ellen and Deanna as Drum Majors My favorite trip with the program: Ireland of course. What was your most embarrassing moment? Falling asleep in the stands my freshman year at the homecoming football game.

What are your future plans?

I will be attending Flagler College in the Fall to peruse my goal of a Doctoral in Child Psychology

If you could give a piece of advice to the underclassmen: Do things for you and to have fun, not because you’re forced too. Because if you do things for someone else and not yourself you in it for the wrong reason. Kristi Scaccia

I began my band career at: Grandma and Pappy Joe’s house on Great Grammy’s Piano. Pappy Joe taught me the basics before he sent me for lessons with Ms. Sandra Sowell… My school band career began on the French horn at Creekside Middle School with Mr. Billy Guthrie. My various roles in the band have included:

Quarter master my sophomore year, Mellophone Section leader my junior year, and part of Drum Corps International’s World champion Drum corps and Drum major my senior year. My most memorable experience has been: Taking all I learned from being a part of the spruce creek band program, and auditioning for my dream drum corps, getting contracted, winning a world championship, and being able to bring even more knowledge and experience back to the already thriving program here at creek. My favorite trip with the program:

Was Ireland of course! With all of our Jazz band events in a close second. The Jazz groups are almost like a family within the band family. What was your most embarrassing moment? Nearly taking a tumble off of the side ladder at FBA. You know that Jam session in the closer when Adam and I put our legs up on the top platform? The band was definitely almost short a drum major! What are your future plans?

Following an undergraduate degree from Florida State University in Horn Performance, I hope to receive a Graduate degree from Indiana University and go on to perform in one of the many prestigious military bands as well as be a horn player for movie soundtracks… OR DISNEY! If you could give a piece of advice to the underclassmen: Don’t ever let anyone take away your passion for music, be it a director, a judge, or your peers. Be confident in everything you do, and if you aren’t truly confident. FAKE IT TILL YOU MAKE IT! Reach for your dreams! Any dream can become your reality with enough passion and dedication. You have extraordinary talent, and something special to offer to not only the world, but to the entire music community.

Last Will &Testament

I, Kristi Scaccia, of my fried, lost, band mind and surprisingly not broken body, do hereby bequeath the following:

To Tashina Potts: Since Freshman Year, we said we would be Drum Majors together. I will never ever forget my rookie year of drum corps, a terrible day of spring training, receiving a call from you, my best friend, screaming like a little girl to tell me that our freshman dream came true (; Needless to say, the rest of that hot rehearsal day was much better after hearing the good news. Oh goodness the times we spent in the car on the way to DSC complaining about band practice, JAMMING out to Crown 2011! Venting to each other about everything under the sun. Including Doorbad’s class! Haha! TOO MUCH POETRY! You were definitely my shoulder to cry on more than once. <3 OMG! Sophomore year in your back yard doing the drum major salute with glitter! I HAVE TO FIND THAT VIDEO! Glitter Committee for life! I still have that shirt! Haha remember me you and your dad hot gluing rose pedals to a piece of wood for a bow for my cupid costume on character day! (: Girl im going to miss you like crazy! I know senior year has been tough, and I know that band will not be a huge part of your life after high school, so I leave you all of our memories, happy and sad, high and low and everything in between. I love you girl! Reach for the stars, maybe someday we’ll cross paths in New York City (;

To Adam Rich: You are going to make an amazing senior drum major next year. I leave you this advice, Keep up those trumpet skills too! Twelve o clock needs a good lead player! Never let go of the laid back attitude you have now. Whenever anyone was freaking out, or in a stressful situation, you were always the one to be relaxed and just do what needed to be done. You’ve got a great sense of humor. NEVER let go of that! Keep puttin a smile on everyone’s face Adam. This is your program next year. <3

To Logan Brinkerhoff: Oh my goodness Logan! I love you with all my heart! Take your mad jazz flute skills and your incredible dance skills and reach for the sky! I can’t wait to see your name in lights one day! I want back stage passes to your show (; don’t forget about us ok? You give the best hugs, so I leave you with all the hugs in the world! If you’re ever in town, and want a hug, you know my number!

To Deanna Silvey: Even though we kind of drifted apart throughout high school, you were always one of my best friends. As you go through the rest of your life, I leave you my phone number. If you need anything at all, you know who to call. A shoulder to cry on, someone to cuss out after someone has pushed you past the limit. Or just someone to chat with. <3 I love you sweetheart.

To Allison White: I STILL HAVE THE MIRROR YOU WROTE ON WITH WHITE OUT! Haha! Ill never forget all the boy problems, the girl drama, the band room lock in’s when everyone taped me to a wall that time. Singing “that’s not my name” with Mr. Guthrie after school. Me, you, Deanna and Logan, were some of the closest friends I think anyone has come across back then. (: And to this day, I would do absolutely anything for you, and them. Take all our memories, and experiences to help you stay AWAY from boys (; lord knows I will!

To Nina Abando!: The cutest most adorable sweetest talented Asian girl EVER! Never stop playing piano, and never ever stop smiling. Your smile is infectious. I leave you with the annual pictures from our recitals together (: <3 I love you girl.

To Cody Conrad: All those times when all I wanted to do was throw something (or someone) through a window, you knew the EXACT song to sing to make me unable to be angry anymore. “wake me up, before you go go!” (: “the lion sleeps tonight” “Circle of life” oh the list goes on. We’ll have to create a Kristi and Cody playlist! You will always be in my heart with nothing but fond memories. I leave you with karaoke, crazy high notes on mello, and great music (:

To Donald Hughes: Im pretty sure we have known each other since Port Orange Elementary. (: I had the biggest crush on you in middle school! Haha. First year of all county remember?! The picture you drew me had our audition music on it! And that picture is framed in my room still! You’re a great guy, Donald. I leave you the absolute best of luck with your art career (: You deserve the world.

To Dylan O’Keefe: I swear you frustrated me more than almost anyone in the band program. But despite your shenanigans, you are talented Dylan, and I still think the pronunciation of your name is your senior prank (; Or maybe not. But anyway I leave you with a freaking watch! Or a calendar! Or some way to keep track of what is going on when for god sakes! (: Do good things Dylan (: Ill see you around buddy.

To Amanda Vasquez: FSU! I will be seeing allot of you for the next four years (; Just ASK me what I would have written for your last will! (: Our school time together isn’t over yet! GO NOLES! To Mackenzie Trujillio: You are an incredibly talented, beautiful, athletic, funny and amazing young lady. (: Your “halleluiah” at prism concert made my mom cry. You’re good, girl! Cant wait to see you in Atlanta, and at an FSU game here and there (; I leave you with every bow you could ever possibly imagine. But wait…. YOU ALREADY HAVE THEM! (;

To Vincent Drewes: Sophomore year in Mrs. Pilsbury’s class, I harldy knew who you were. “That saxophone football player dude” But I am so glad I got to know you better (: I know you will be lost without Keenan next year, but keep up your crazy humor ok? Keep making everyone laugh with your HILARIOUS snap chats in band class (; oh! And don’t forget those funny pictures! I leave you with careless whispers.

To Jillian Bennet: Definitely one of the coolest, most bad ass freshman chicks I know! How often do you find a girl who plays tuba and is still gorgeous?! (freshman year Erica Cooley) But that’s one in 4 years! You’re a rare breed sweetheart! And you can kick the crap out of those boys any day of the week! I leave you with an immense amount of Girl Power. (:

To Joe Guidabaldi: You were my Freshman, and now my Sophomore. I am warning you, I will take FULL credit for all your achievements. “Yeah I taught him everything he knows” (; haha! No, you are going to be an incredible horn player Joe. You are already good! Definitely gave me a run for my money in the beginning! Maybe ill see you in the drum corps world one day (: I leave you the new mellophone that I stole from you (and didn’t make back to you for the port orange parade… damn GPS’s. SORRY!) and the lead horn spot. (: Fight to the death for that chair with Alyssa! To Alyssa Pokorny: I see you doing amazing things one day! You are like the silent killer! You are so quiet but whenever you do speak its either 1) genius. Or 2) freaking hysterical! I don’t know if you see yourself being a leader in the band, but I sure as hell do! You do all of the right things (: All the time. Plus you’re beautiful, smart, and extremely talented! I leave you with GIRL POWER! That first horn spot (come one girl I know you can beat Joe!) and a leadership position in the future. I can see it!

To Bobby Williams: Don’t you dare sell yourself short ANYMORE! You are good bobby! You are on the verge of Greatness. Please for the love of god, if you want to do something. DO IT! All county Jazz, All state Jazz, DRUM CORPS. You don’t get anywhere with an attitude of “Im not good enough.” If I went into my Crown audition like that, I would not have gotten a spot and you know it! Don’t let anyone EVER tell you that you are less than wonderful. You have so much potential and I couldn’t bear to see you throw any of that away. Be good to Adam next year ok? Don’t be as frustrating to him as Dylan was to me (; And go ahead and share lead in 12:00. Y’all will have to fight it out for the solos! I leave you with the confidence to do anything and everything you dream of. Go out and be a famous trumpet player (:

To David Garey: We may not agree on everything. But David you are a killer saxophone player. You are a pretty damn good band captain, and not too shabby of a person either (; haha You are going to go places. For Sure. I leave you with a peace offering. And safe travels to wherever life takes you.

To Sydney Levy: Girl, you are so beautiful. You have a heart of gold. And you can shred on piano. (and I assume surfing since you were bit by a shark!) haha! That just makes you automatically the coolest girl in school right? Even though we were never really close, I can definitely consider you a good friend. You have a personality that is hard to find now a days. You’re sweet, modest, talented, and beautiful! (Don’t tell me “no” just say thank you <3) I leave you here with your killer wardrobe that I am extremely jealous of! (: I would say that I leave you with a good head on your shoulders, but you know that. You will do great things Sydney. If you ever need anything at all come find me! Good luck in your future sweetheart (:

To THE ENTIRE MELLOPHONE SECTION: Keep up the tradition of a mellophone player in top leadership every year! It has been that way since before I got to spruce creek! I know you guys can do it! The spruce Creek Mellophone section has the most fun, are the most tightly knit family of the band, and will always have a special place in my heart. I hope I was able to give you all the same kind of experience that I received as a freshman mello player! I had probably the most fun my freshman year. Then I had to be responsible! Haha (: that leadership business can be kinda fun sucking every once in a while. But I DEFINITELY enjoyed every second spent with you all. Let the tradition continue, be the best section in the band! Sound the best, Look the best, and behave the best. Be the best you can possibly be 100% of the time! Every single one of you have incredible potential, and every single one of you deserve the best. I love you all with all my heart! SCHS mello 4 life!

P.S. I want to be invited to mellophone karaoke parties!

To Eric Weinrich: HERBALIFE. That is all (; To THE ENTIRE TRUMPET SECTION: While I will always love the trumpet section. COOL IT WITH THE TROUBLE MAKING! You guys are one of the most stressful sections in the entire band…. Probably THE most stressful. Stop needing a babysitter (; I won’t be around to yell at you next year. Don’t give the directors too much hell (: they do the best they can. SCHS Trumpet section will always have a special place in my heart, now be nice, deflate all of your big heads, stop causing trouble, and quit giving the directors high blood pressure. <3

To Joey Lavarias: All I can say is… WOW. Who would have ever thought that you would have come this far, and achieved so much by your senior year in high school. You are legitimately a music prodigy! I don’t have anything to say except. “I am not worthy!” haha! I don’t have to tell you to keep it up, because I know you will. (: I leave you with all the best of luck for your future auditions. (Not that you need any!)

To Nate Green: Even though we never really got to know each other that well. You are incredible! You’re talented, sweet, and funny! I cant wait to hear all about where your high school career takes you!! I leave you with leadership. I know you’ll be there one day.

To TUBAZ: I just want you all to know, that after going to drum corps and meeting other tuba players from all over the place… All tuba sections have the same personalities! You are all extremely hilarious, sometimes aggravating, and pretty bad ass. (: I love you guys! Keep stirring up laughs (: To Dominick Cineffro: I leave you also with a watch… but one that tells you AM from PM. (: wouldn’t want you showing up 12 hours early again!!! (: (told you you’d never live it down!)

To Sarah Jane Farmwald: The only reason I know your middle name is facebook! Haha! You are incredible! Almost like superwoman. (: and youre my favorite because you switched from clarinet to mello! (; good choice! I really hope you felt welcome in our crazy section! Im sure it was much more relaxed than the dramatic and HUGE clarinet section! (: haha I leave you with the most awesome woodwind player award in my book! (:

To Alexandria Isais: I am so incredibly proud of you! Mrs. Spruce Creek?! Like WHAT?! Don’t lose your head pretty lady! You are an all- around amazing person, and I am so glad that spruce creek saw that! I still wish I could have been there to see it! Keep shooting the stars sweetheart! Be sweet to everyone, even though you may not think the deserve it. Don’t sweat the small stuff. Don’t stress about anything that isn’t in your control. (:You are going to be a fantastic Mrs. Spruce Creek. (: I leave you with patience. You are going to need allot of it. <3 You already have the Poise (; Now play the game! <3

To Alex Aramayo: Oh my goodness! Our one handed, crossed arm, hand on face high five thing… Im going to miss that. (: Im going to miss you! You’re SO funny! <3 I love you Alex!!!!!!!!! I leave you with bright colored shirts. Cause you always stand out in them (:

To Keenan Holbrook: HA! You thought I forgot about you didn’t you?! (; OF COURSE NOT! Don’t forget about Vincent ok? He needs you. (: haha! Just kidding. He’ll be fine. Don’t forget about me though!!! (: I don’t know what I would do without your funny snap chats too! Or you just screaming random stuff all the time (: I leave you with a loud voice (; cause lord knows you got one!!!

To Lunde (Daniel): Does anyone even use your first name anymore? (: lol You are definitely one of the most chill, relaxed, cool, people I know. (: I hope to see you in ACE in the future! (: We could use an attitude like yours in the battery! I leave you with hopes of seeing you in the WGI community (; and of course the best of luck in your future. (:

To THE ENTIRE COLOR GUARD!: You are SO pretty! (: Oh you ladies! (: You all put a big fat smile on my face. <3 I wish the band could be as close as you guys are…. HAHA wait… you hate each other right?... (: nah. Just kidding. I love you girls with all my heart! You are always the most well behaved on the field, the most respectful, the prettiest of course (; every single one of you ladies are extremely talented and are so lucky to work with the staff that you have. I know you have ups and downs (no not drop spins) (; but take a minute to appreciate all that your staff does for you. And maybe even go thank them (: A little bit goes a long way (; I leave you ladies with all the bobby pins, hair spray, eyelashes, and makeup tutorials in the world! <3

To Jayquan Miller: Thank you so much for being the only one in the band program who understood the caliber of what I did over the summer. And thank you so much for being a fan! Coming into the band room and hearing someone sing my show is such a rewarding feeling! That means I did exactly what I was aiming to do, and that was to expose drum corps to younger kids! No one knows what it is until high school unless they know people in it. Anyway. You are an awesome player. But back off the ego a little bit (: You remind me allot of myself my freshman year, Loud, cocky, social, but all the potential to be a great leader in the future. (: I can definitely see Drum Major in your future. So I leave you with that seed planted in your head, and I hope to see you at a Carolina Crown audition in the near future!

To Shawn McKaig: I am going to try extremely hard not to cry. I cant even begin to tell you how much of an impact you have had on my high school career, and my life. You are like the ultimate best friend! A shoulder to cry on, the wisest of wise to give advice, my all time favorite educator I have EVER had the privilege of being educated by. When I think about you, I think of a role model. Someone to portray in every way in my future. (but always be on time (;!!!) haha <3 You just need to know that you have positively impacted not only my life but so many others that have come through the Spruce Creek Program. But I’m sure you know. (: I will never ever forget you McKaig. I better see you at a show in the future! <3 I leave you, with the upmost respect, and all the love in my heart! You are the heart and soul of the Creek Music Arts Program (: Plus some flair! <3

To ANYONE I MAY HAVE FORGOTTEN: This program has been my home away from home for 4 years now. And you all have been a part of my family, Ups, Downs, turn around’s. Thank you all for being such an essential part of my life. Every single one of you take up this special place in my heart for Spruce Creek Music Program. <3 Thank you for helping to make my senior year something to remember. I wish every individual one of you the absolute best as you go through your high school careers, and the rest of your lives. <3

Deanna Nicole Silvey

I began my band career at: Sweetwater Elementary with Mrs. Kidd and Ms. Schmidt playing the flute and steel drums. My various roles in the band or colorguard have included:

Librarian, quartermaster, and clarinet section leader. It has been a joy of mine to be a part of taking care of all the uniforms for the Ireland trip last year and leading the best section ever this year. I never thought it was going to be extremely tough being a section leader, but the outcome was absolutely rewarding. My most memorable experience has been: Roaming the alley ways of Ireland with my best friends, and when Logan magically made every light turn off in an Ireland shopping center simply by flicking his wrists and yelling “expelliarmus!” then proceeding to look at his hands in utter amazement. My favorite trip with the program:

Ireland. Every part of Ireland was incredible. I will never forget the memories I made there or being a part of the band that won the best overall band in the St. Patrick’s Day Parade. I am so grateful to have been a part of that entire trip. What was your most embarrassing moment? Although I have so many to choose from, I feel obligated to close out this Irish theme by recognizing the time when I fell down the last set of steps to the lobby in our Galway hotel… I literally face planted into the lobby. Unfortunately, Donald was the only witness to this incident. What are your future plans? Attend Flagler College to pursue a degree in English and Creative Writing.

If you could give a piece of advice to the underclassmen: Don’t let anything (or anyone) stand in the way of your happiness, and don’t take this band program for granted… Your time a part of it will flash before your eyes and when you look back you’ll realize all of the opportunities, wonderful memories, and friendships it has created for you. Last Will &Testament

I, Deanna Silvey, of sound mind and body, do hereby bequeath the following:

To David Garey: Wow, it’s truly amazing to think of how far we’ve come. Through all the roller coasters (figuratively and literally) I can honestly say that I have never cared more for someone. You are the very reason why I end my senior year on a good note. According to Google, our schools are approximately 2,457.2 miles apart … But every day I’ll know that you’ll be with me in my mind and in my heart. I leave you our amazing memories, future trips, our love for chocolate, my terrible baking skills, himym quotes “legen (wait for it…), and above all… I leave you my word that I will do everything in my power to hold onto you for as long as you will let me. Thank you, David… for picking me up when it felt like the world was pushing me down. dary” <3

To Tashina Potts: I am so grateful that we became best friends. You are an extraordinary person and I cannot imagine my life without you. I leave you our loud synchronized laugh, my hair to braid when you’re feeling up for it ;), and our incredible and epic future memories together at Flagler! Dang… Can you believe we made it?... Haha 

To Ben Weinrich: We became friends so suddenly and I have nothing but great memories with you. You are so easy to talk to and I love how I could tell you anything and still trust you with it all. You’re a great person, Ben. Just stay out of trouble ;). I leave you my job at POMA. You are an amazing teacher and in many ways YOU taught ME a lot about this job and how lucky I have been to be able to work with some talented students. Best of luck, and please stay in touch.

To Donald Hughes: Even though our friendship is only 4 years old, I feel like I’ve known you for a lifetime. Donald, you are a great guy with one of the biggest hearts I’ve ever seen and you’ve been such an amazing friend. I will truly miss you, but I will never forget all of the laughs and great advice we have shared with each other over the years. Thank you for teaching me how to loosen up and take a joke (since you made fun of me a lot) haha. Also, thank you for being there through dark moments as well. You deserve all the best and I wish you luck in your future. I leave you the memory of me pronouncing pigeon as “pi-gon” in front of our entire English class freshman year… That way you can laugh at me if you’re ever feeling down 

To Allison White: Allison, we share a lot in common. People have judged us and made us both feel terrible about ourselves, but we found a friendship in that whole mess which is a truly beautiful thing. I leave you our jam sessions to country songs on the way to school, our sleepovers where we hardly slept and instead talked all night about everything possible, and the strength to stand on your own. Don’t let anyone make you feel worthless or guilty for being yourself. You’re too good for that. Please stay in touch. I wish you the best of luck at USF. I know you will be very happy there.

To Logan Brinkerhoff: Logan, I don’t even know where to begin! You are an incredible person, and I don’t know what I would do without all the laughs I’ve had because of you (please read my most memorable moment). You just light up an entire room and your presence simply puts a smile on gloomy faces. You are a huge inspiration of mine and I hope that one day I can strive to obtain some of those same qualities. I leave you my best Ireland memories, a love for SpongeBob, and my wish that you will have a wonderful time in New York. One day when you’re this famous dancer, don’t forget about us little people!

To Amanda Vazquez: You have been there for me so much this year (literally too since we had like a billion classes together. Haha). Anyway, you have an amazing heart, and I respect you in many different ways. Please don’t let people walk all over you. You’re too good for that! I leave you my number to call or text if you ever want to vent or just have a conversation with a friend. Also, I wish you the best of luck at FSU. You will do great things there and in your future beyond college. To Alex Aramayo: I leave you my bass clarinet and left over reeds, sassy comments, intense rock paper scissor wars, and many laughs. Thank you for being a good friend. Have fun next year!

To Alexandria Isais: You’re a beautiful person inside and out, Alexandria. It has been an absolute pleasure watching you grow into the young woman you are. Life is looking up for you now and I’m so glad to see you happy again. Never let people break you, or push you down and always remember how much you are valued. I leave you our long talks, Stetson Clarinet Camp memories, and many amazing football game bus rides this year.

Oh yeah… and congratulations on Miss Spruce Creek! To Nina Abando: You are a little bundle of happiness and I’m so glad I got to have you in my life. I leave you the Ireland roomie memories, Ermahgerd It’s a Burrsss! Photo, and the awesome times we had together in band! I’ll miss you Nins.

To Cassidy, Elizabeth P., and Joey: It has been an absolute pleasure working with you three this year. At first, I was really nervous that I wouldn’t fit in because you all were already so close with each other, but you guys made me feel comfortable as a fellow section leader and I’m so happy we got to improve our section together. I leave you the time when we scared the crap out of our section at their marching rehearsal, section of the day, clarinet tassels, gunkie tags, and the best of luck with all of your futures. Thank you for making my senior year filled with fun.

To Clarinet Freshman: You guys are by far the best class of people I have seen go through this band. I wish I had the time to write something to each of you individually, but this is the best I can do for now. All of you worked so hard this year and made me extremely proud. You are going to do great things for this section and for the program. I know that I wasn’t the best section leader at times, but it’s important for you all to know that I cared a lot. I hope that you all will carry on our new traditions like clarinet tassels, winning section of the day (maybe even week) at band camp, and passing down the band camp survival guide! The best and last piece of advice I could give to you now is just have fun. All of you should become friends with each other and cherish those friendships forever. Remember that although some things (like band camp) might really suck now, it will one day be something that you will be so proud to have been a part of. Thank you for being the reason why my job as section leader was extremely rewarding. The Tradition Continues!......

To The Clarinet Section: I’m grateful to have been your section leader this year, and I want you all to know that I’m proud of everything you did. More importantly, I’m finally proud to be a part of this group of people, because you are all the reason why it’s such a great section. Please respect your section leaders next year and show up to the parties and rehearsals they throw… It can be a lot of fun if you make it fun. Realize how unique it is to be a part of team that’s a part of an even larger family (the band as a whole). Just strive to become close friends with each other, because as you know, you will be spending lots of time together. I love this section and I hope you all will have an unforgettable experience in this program.

To Andrew Kidd and Shawn McKaig: “Pride, Class, and Dignity.” This quote will forever stay with me. Thank you both for showing me what those words truly mean. I understand now the value they have had in my life and will continue to have.

I plan to attend Daytona State for the next two years and after that transfer to a university. After that? Who knows! As long as I’m happy it doesn’t really matter! If you could give a piece of advice to the underclassmen: Have fun! Don’t stress over every little detail, if you didn’t mess up, there would be no need for improvement and what would be the fun in that? You keep hearing “Pride Class and dignity “but have you ever really tried applying those words to everything you do in life? Try it! It will honestly make such a difference.

Allison Leigh White I began my band or colorguard career at:

Spruce Creek Elementary in 3rd grade with Mr. Clowers

My various roles in the band or colorguard have included:

Flute and piccolo player in both marching and concert bands. My senior year I was flute section leader with Reagan Walker My most memorable experience has been: Walking down the field on senior night and reflecting on all of the experiences that I have had in the band program. Spending all four years of my high school doing something that I love made my high school years that much better. My favorite trip with the program:

Ireland!! Of Course!! There were so many great memories made with such amazing people that I couldn’t imagine a better group of people to spend that time with. What was your most embarrassing moment? My most embarrassing moment was when I slipped and almost fell off the mountain in Ireland, my whole left side of my jeans covered in mud. Then about 30 minutes later I slipped again and fell on my hands and knees, covering myself with even more mud. What are your future plans?

I plan to attend University of South Florida in the fall to eventually become a doctor If you could give a piece of advice to the underclassmen:

These four years really do fly by. So enjoy your time and experiences with the right people because you don’t want to regret spending it with the wrong people. Last Will &Testament

I, Allison White, of strong mind and body, do hereby bequeath the following:

To Deanna Silvey: Where do I even begin!! You have been my rock these past couple of years and I have NO IDEA what I would have done without you. You are always there when I need a shoulder to cry on, tough love or just someone to talk to. Next year I am going to miss you soo much, I wish I could just pack you in my boxes and take you with me haha! We have been through so much together since 7th grade and soo much boy drama! You are the most amazing best friend I could ever ask for. I wish the best for you at Flagler with Tashina. I love you <3 To Tashina Potts: We definitely need to do another girl’s night sometime soon! You have been such a great best friend and you give the best advice. And you are AMAZING at doing hair!!! There are so many memories that we’ve had together, like our little dinner together in Ireland haha. I will miss you a lot next year! I hope you have a great experience at Flagler. P.S. I will probably be calling you and Deanna every once and a while. I love you girl  To Rondalyn Dickens: You are soo sassy and I love it! I missed you in concert band this year and chemistry has definitely been interesting to say the least. You will do amazing at whichever college you choose to attend in the fall and I will miss you so much. You are always there when I need someone to talk to especially recently, and that means so much to me! And I know who to call if I ever get in a fight haha  I love you

To My Ireland Group: We had such an amazing experience together and I wouldn’t trade it for the world. You are such an amazing group of friends and I was lucky to have you guys. There are enough memories and stories from the trip to last a life time and I am so grateful for that! I love you guys! To Cody Conrad: We have known each other for such a long time. And you are still just as strange as ever but that is why everyone loves you so much! It seems like yesterday you were chasing me around my front yard with a lizard haha and now we are about to graduate and leave for college, and we have almost made it through 4 long years of IB. I wish you the best in college  To The Flute Section: We have the reputation of being a section full of drama, which isn’t entirely untrue, but I love you guys and I have made some amazing friends through this section. Being a section made up of all girls and two guys there is bound to be some drama but that’s okay, we all made it out alive didn’t we? Good luck next year all the underclassmen I hope you all have the most amazing experiences like I did. I loved being section leader along with Reagan to such an amazing group!

To Everyone else: there was no way I could possibly fit every memory of every person that has made a difference in my life. There are so many people that I have met in this program have changed me and my life in so many different ways, whether it was good or bad. And I will carry those memories forever! Being in band consumed much of my 4 years of high school and I wouldn’t change that for the world because I got to spend it with such an amazing group of people! There are certain people who have made a bigger difference than other and you all know who you are, and there have been so many lessoned learned throughout these 4 years it is indescribable. I am so grateful for those of you in my life and I hope you all know what you mean to me. I love you all 

BRITtney Michelle Wilson

I began my band or colorguard career at: Colorguard auditions my 8th grade year…but I have known how to spin since I was nine. My various roles in the band or colorguard have included: Being a member of the Varsity Winterguard since freshman year. And marched since freshman year. My most memorable experience has been:

Every experience I have gone through with the Senior Class. There’s too many to pick simply one. My favorite trip with the program: Definitely the Disney Dream christening from my freshman year. (I didn’t go to Ireland….so) What was your most embarrassing moment? This one time, at band camp…freshman year I had lost my gunkie tag, and the captains had gotten ahold of it. So, in order for me to get it back….I had to pull my pants up to my bellybutton and run to the band while they were at attention and make obnoxious bird noises. What are your future plans? I am going to the University of West Florida in Pensacola (also known as Southern Alabama) to get my Bachelors and then my Masters in Nursing. If you could give a piece of advice to the underclassmen: Invest in socks and deodorant. I love you guys…but the band room has a constant underlying aroma of sweat and grossness.

Last Will &Testament

I, Brittney “Guardian Angel” Wilson, of asdfghjkl mind and fragile, bone- breaking body, do hereby bequeath the following:

To Dr. Dean Musson.: I miss you so so so much. There isn’t a dat that goes by that I don’t think about you. I loved it when we would talk about random things in the office, and when we messed with other kids after school. You were my favorite, and still are. I remember when I found out what had happened…I cried the entire week. The silence in the band room that afternoon was unbearable. I wish you could have known how much the senior class this year cared about you. We dedicated the Jags game to you, and performed our hearts out. I’ll try and always keep my promise to you. You may not be here anymore to listen to my girlish drama anymore, but you’ll always be there in spirit. I love you Dr. Musson. You’ll always have a special place in my heart. To Shawn McKaig: You have shaped me into the woman I am today. Four years ago I was freaking insane and never understood how you dealt with my immaturity. Now, I am going off to college and have become a strong independent woman who don’t need no man. (But having one is nice sometimes). To all of the embarrassing pictures I have of you on my phone sleeping on your desk and at regionals and other specified events. I am pretty sure you sleep everywhere. That’s my theory at least. Well, anyways…I love you. You’re my dad. Thank you for walking with me on Senior Night. It meant a lot to me. Luckily you get a year off so that you can recover…and then you get Erin. Good luck with her. Hahahaha. But hey, at least you know I’ll come back to see you. You’re the most influential person in my life, and I’ll always remember the impact you have had on me and my academic and social adventures.

To Kim McCool: When we first met…not going to lie, I was literally scared to death. You were an evil person and I swore to myself that you enjoyed yelling at people for fun. But that’s not really the case. Sometimes we mess up and there’s a little tough love, but in the end it’s usually for our best interests. I know it was for me. Thank you for putting up with me and telling me that I am capable of doing great things, and for providing me with an incentive to work hard and achieve great things. You have succeeded, and are pretty much like my second mom. I know I am not coming back next year to be on staff…but I’m going to college! So yay! Don’t worry, you’ll always have Mara to beat flag line. I’ll come back though. This isn’t the end of me  plus you’ll have my sister. So, make sure she doesn’t do what I did. I love you.

To Cassidy Michelle Peters: Oh boy, where do I begin? Well you’re the first one on here out of my friends, so that makes you my first choice. Now you can never say that you’re never anyone’s first choice. You have talked to me when I needed it, and I have done the same for you. Thank you for that. This year you have grown to be one of my best friends, and I couldn’t have asked for anything better. To playing careless whisper outside of Mason’s house to serenade him, and to marching our shows. To eating lunch together in the auditorium while Bell flips out because of food. Staying in the tech booth just because, and hanging Lorenzo and the disco ball from the spot booth. Tarzan was quite….oh and flappy bird. I hate you for your high score. To Ice CreaMMMMM fvjbkewlfdj. YES. And also, too staying in your driveway for an hour and a half just talking about life. To our trip to St Augustine with Karly and Haley to surprise Tristan, and never being able to find a parking spot. Eating lunch under that one tree, and then having it rain on us. Ah yes. Good times. Also, sfter school parties at my house and dinner dates and such. Senior year was great chica. P.s. I WANT SNAPCHATS IN COLLEGE. No exceptions.

To Joey Lavarias: You’re pretty cool. I mean, we have been friends kinda for a while so. By the way, I’ll never let you forget middle school. GOOD MORNING TO YOU GOOD MORNING TO YOU. In all seriousness though, you make me so so happy, Joey. You’ve become one of my closest friends and I am going to be devastated because we can’t have our daily afterschool hugs with Mason in college… #sadface. But, here’s to twerk music and getting into college, and also not killing anyone in the process I love you <3

To Taylor Wagner: To our long lasting friendship. Since middle school… we have spent lovely days together. From me and you together in English, to me coming to your house and “graciously” waking you up. I have had the pleasure to be initiated into your family (even though I ended up taking your place…oops), but I will make sure to be the best big sister ever to Mattie and another best daughter for Mom and Dad 

To Amanda “Starfish” Vazquez: High school has been a journey. From freshman year band camp to senior prom…you’ve been a great friend. And guess what? We are the last two ORG members still in high school! We can join the others!!!!! FINALLY!!!! Ah. You are such a great person, and I can’t believe that we are going to college. But hey, at least we’ll only be an hour away from each other…so that means we can still have weekend get- togethers and Chinese lunch dates <3 I promise I’ll text you whenever I can, and that we can have Netflix and food parties.

To Adele Marie Pietras: It’s been a long journey. I’ve seen you grow in both colorguard and academics. I’ve always been jealous of you, to be honest. I could never manage grades and colorguard…but you could. And you showed me that it can be done, with hard work and effort. I think you pretty much lived high school the way it should’ve been, and I have always idolized you for that. We are pretty good friends, and I’m really going to miss spinning with you…because after 4 years of spinning together, it’ll be pretty hard to let go. But hey…here’s to being the only seniors on the team that performed in “The Water” year. I know you’ll do great things in college…and when you cure cancer, I can say that I knew you. “Hi. My name’s Adele, and I PLAY SOCCER”

To Morgan Wixted: Picture? Picture? PicTuRE? PICTUREREREREFDEFDEARFBJKASVNDGF?>!?>@! Hahaha, I love you. U got them Math skillz grl. Teach me yo wayz. Swerve. I better be invited to you’re and Tyrone’s wedding.

To Ikang Jessica Lim Liwag: Since the second grade, I’ve always loved you. Sorry for leaving you behind when I moved. And sorry for letting you tell people you were blonde. Oops. Maybe I’ve always had a dark sense of humor xD But we did find each other again during auditions in 8th grade, and have managed to stay friends all this time without murdering one another. Cappiello’s class. I’ll try and always be there for you to save you from your stalkers. That is all. P.s. I don’t know if anyone ever told you, but we got the number of the guy who works at Takara for you…

To Brittany Sue Martin: I bequeath to you the OFFICIAL name of “Baby Britt”, because it was never official last winter season. I love you. And you’re graduating as well…but yes…good luck with college. Don’t forget to stock up on Froot Loops and gummy bears. xoxo

To Kayla Byrnes, Sara Costner: Here’s to coffee runs and food before practice. And mainly trying to get Sara out of her dad’s room and forcing her to come with us (even though it never worked ever). And also to when Sara and I ran into each other at the fair with the goat selfies and my turkey leg. And to Kayla….we still have our pine cones. I’ll see you two turds at band camp.

To Skylar Theis: Neighbor buddy!!! And car ride buddy!!! And spinning buddy!!! I love you! You’re great  Thanks for not shooting me when we drove home from practice. And stay away from boys. Unless you find one like Mason. But I still have to approve. Also, make sure Erin doesn’t do anything stupid when she joins…and burn the heart out of her enemies <3

To Mr. and Mrs. Gary Broyles: I love you. But. No. I will never look at you two the same again. Ever. Be safe you two. And also, you guys are the cutest Orchestra couple. Also known as “The orchestra couple” ~M. R. Norris

To Kimberly Alexis Boone: Our super long friendship will never enddddd!!! NEVAAAA! We went to prom together freshman and senior year…(and every year in between for you xD). But even if we irritate each other, at least we know that we are honest with each other to our faces Weaslepuff, Rippindorrs, Hogfarts, Spitrin, and Hersheysquirts will still be a thing. NEVER FORGOTTEN.  Good luck at Stetson, and we WILL be in contact. No exceptions. No excuses. I’m watching you girl. Continue the coffee tradition that Haley instated.

To Tricia, Kyleigh, Caitlin, Jackie: Winter season was awesome with ya’ll, and I’m glad we grew a little closer this season. I’ll see you guys at band camp, and I hope that your senior year goes swimmingly!

To Tashina Potts: You are simply a fabulous human being surrounded by a frenzy of cute dresses, hair braids, and glitter. Here’s to that one time when we both made the little mini flag ornaments freshman year for the guard as Christmas presents, and to Senior Prom. Your pinterest makes me smile, and I look at t all the time because of the beautiful things on it. To Taylor’s birthday surprises, and other great adventures. I love you girly.

To Sarah & Jake Farmwald: #farmwaldfriday

To Alex Lacerna: You’re the cutest little drumline freshman ever. Go on and do great things!!! You’re the best.

To Jayyyyyyyquan Miller: Join Winterguard next year. You have to. Please. Then I can come back and be like “THAT’S MY BOY!!! I’ll be like the protective mother. I hope you grow in both band and guard, and school. P.s. I hope you’re able to achieve my angle-toss perfection some day 

To Michael Lira Racing.: Here’s to Spanish class. It was pretty crazy. To Rondalyn Dickens.: You are a beautiful, graceful, intelligent young woman, and I am so happy to call you a friend. Thanks for hanging out at prom with us. It was great. Also that guy at Takara…I’m pretty sure that “Oh my god” was the only thing he knew how to say in English…

To Jordan Blair.: You’re so adorable, and my third favorite clarinet (next to Cassidy and Joey). Thanks for sitting with all of us in the mornings and going out to dinner before marching practice with us. I’m going to miss you!!!!

To Benjamin Weinrich.: I can’t wait for Marr to join guard. You two are so friggin’ cute. Like, cuter than five kittens taped together. Don’t worry… marching with your girlfriend won’t be as bad as you think. I marched with Mason this year, and look at us xD You’re birthday party was super super fun, and I can’t wait to come back and see you. Also, stay away from the Bob Evans parking lot. And don’t hurt her. I’ll burn your heart out if you do.

To Logan Brinkerhoff.: We have had numerous classes together over the course of the past 4 years…and I was sad we didn’t get one this year!!! I am srsly jealous of your dancing, because you’re simply amazing. Also, Cappiello’s class last year wouldn’t have been the same without you. And sitting with you at band banquet last year was great 

To Emily Keith.: The snaps I get from you are super hipster and adorable. I’ll probably see you sometime in the near future, because I’ll more than likely spin with your sister. Good luck next year! We’ll keep in contact, I promise! To Daniel Masters.: From the couple of times we have met, you’ve been pretty cool. I liked hanging out with you, Amanda, Ben and G at family days for homecoming. I wish you the best of luck next year!

To Allison White: I’m glad we got to talk a lot more this year in TOK. You’re actually a really super awesome person to be around, and I wish you all of the happiness in the world.

To Adam Rich: Surprisingly enough, it never hit me until just now that we were in CAFA together and did the Sound of Music. Weird. But yeah, here’s to being neighbors and I’ll come back to see the band next year, so I’ll see you too!

To Megan Burgman.: You just remind me of sunshine and rainbows and you’re the most adorable human being I have ever encountered in my entire existence. Good luck next year, and I believe you’ll do a great job <3

To Shelby Maynard.: Similarly to Megan, you’re so super adorable and nice. She really picked a great girl to be her little sis  If I ever spin again, it won’t be the same without you. Maybe someday we can march an Independent together <3

To Chloe, Morgan Fox, Destany.: Ya’ll are frickin crazy. I leave you guys….”the frickle-frackle”

To Precious Bowers.: Get it gurlllllll. To Dominique Wiley.: You are just perf. I adore you so much babe <3 I’ll miss you when I leave!!!!!! But best wishes to you in the future <3

To the Juniors.: Not everything is going to stay the same. The traditions will dissipate, and things will never really go back to the way they were…but you guys have the choice now to make or break this program. It’s all up to you guys now. I believe in you all.

To Mason Robert Norris: Happy One Year Anniversary, derpface. This is a lot different than last year though xD I HAD TO MAKE YOU TALK TO ME. You were so socially awkward, and still are, but it’s okay! To me forcing you to do your math IA the last week of school, and when we almost got that referral the last day of school for skipping. To Cappiello’s class. That’s where everything began. We didn’t really learn much about history…. “Mason’s grades dropped in the fourth quarter”, gee I wonder why…and also to Amriti and everyone who sat around us that made us the official OTP before we were even a thing. Everything that we are and everything that we will be all started right here. Last year at band banquet, everything changed. One year ago, I found out that you had liked me as much as I liked you. One year ago, I found out that this would be a new adventure…and I wasn’t necessarily sure how it was going to go. But you know what? The adventure has been marvelous. So here’s to us. Holly and Ellen’s graduation party last year was our kind-of first date. To picking flowers with Annie and Gary from the side of the road (the flowers of which I still have). Twinning with Blackburn, Prince, Cappiello, Costner, Duncan, and Joey was the best idea ever. Also, the present war. I got you a million and 4 books, and you got me a million and 5 flowers, along with the first of many love letters. I still don’t know who is winning the war at this point. To awkward banjos, and taking out the trash. Playing board games, both literally and figuratively. Never seeing you over summer because you were at camp. Hey, I suppose this summer will be a repeat, except I am the one gone this time. To watching DCI at the movies and marching together for the past 4 years. To the beach, and midnight in the parking lot. Crazy car adventures, which include losing 80 dollars at Starbucks, and getting traffic tickets. I mean, come on. Couples who get traffic tickets together stay together, right? To Brason being our official shipping name, and to being put onto the Homecoming Court ballot xD CRUSH THE PATRIARCHY. To Panera adventures before band practice, and Districts. Robert Downey Jr. To kissing other females at districts, and then seeing her freak out when she realized I was your girlfriend. I felt so bad xD To luminaries and such, and adventures in our community that involve walking around the surrounding New Smyrna Beach area. Ah, historic New Smyrna. Good times. To minor civil holidays….God Bless America. I don’t know how we have made it this far without going completely insane. P.s. Sorry for getting you grounded for the first time ever…..oops. Anyways, I don’t know where we will end up, but I know we’ll be together because….psht. There’s no one else I’d rather be with than you. You’re my partner in crime, and my other half. I can’t live without you, dear. So, here’s to our future together and many years to come. 5/18/13 forever. Together. Always. I hope that our few remaining friends give up on trying to save us.

Morgan wixted

I began my band or colorguard career at: During the winterguard season of my freshman year. My various roles in the band or colorguard have included: Being a lieutenant this year. My most memorable experience has been:

Our trip to Ireland. My favorite trip with the program: Again, our trip to Ireland. What was your most embarrassing moment? I forgot where to set my equipment during a winterguard competition. That was interesting. What are your future plans?

Attending the University of Florida to study engineering. If you could give a piece of advice to the underclassmen: Just go for it. Don’t give up. If you find something you have a passion for, pursue it. If you are faced with an obstacle, find a way to overcome it. You will be glad you did. Try to find your real friends, and stick with those that prove themselves.

Last Will &Testament

I, Morgan Wixted, of capable mind and tired body, do hereby bequeath the following:

To Jessica Liwag: Roomie! Here’s to hoping we don’t want to kill each other by the end of the first semester! To you I leave my last summer in grade school, since that’s where all of our memories lie and that’s when we really started becoming close. Being service officers together really brought us closer, and I wouldn’t have had it any other way.

To Mara Hill: Where do I start? Ever since seventh grade we have been friends, and now we are practically sisters. You have been with me through the living death trap that we call high school, and now I’m sad because you aren’t going to be close (in distance) to me anymore. To Adele Pietras: To you I leave my glitter, because you have a strange obsession with it (wonder where you got that from?), and since you still insist on buying if even after our season has ended, you can have the gold bottle in my makeup bag. It will save you a trip to Sally’s and a total of $1.00.

To Kaley Taylor: Ginger! To you I leave all the times we were actually able to hang out outside of guard, which weren’t many. But we made it work. I do want to thank you for being a constant support system to me, for listening to me complain time and time again about my crazy lifestyle. You were and still are always the one I can fall back on to have a taste of “normalcy” in my life. I also leave you my nickname of Wicked, because besides Mara, and she has her own version, you are the only one that calls me that anymore, yet it works better than my own name sometimes.

To Stephanie Guarneri: To you I leave my legacy as the nerd bird. No, really, school and guard has been awesome with you and I have taken away memories from our adventures that I will never forget, especially our last luminary fundraiser.

To Brittany Martin: To you I leave the feeling of accomplishment. Yes, I am extremely jealous of you that you are able to graduate early and get out of high school, but hey, it is what it is. You have been doing guard for a couple years now, and you have improved so much over the years and you aren’t such a “Baby Britt” now, but you will always have that name reserved in my heart. I will miss you a lot when I move away.

To Kim Boone: To you I leave our partnership of McDonald’s frappes. Only you and I will know the true power inside the cup full of sugar. To Brittney Wilson: To you I leave my love for Starbucks. I will never forget all the coffee runs we have made over the years whether we needed a quick fix before an event or because IB was just that brutal that week. Not to mention all the Starbucks I stole from you.

To Skylar Theis: Little sis! To you I leave the power to master the IB gods and to become an absolute beast at colorguard. If I can do it, you can too. I knew since the first day of auditions that I wanted you for my little sis, and I never regretted my decision even for a second. I’ve seen you grow so much over this year and I couldn’t be happier. I know you will go so far over your next three years, anyone would be able to see that. Hopefully you will be a big sis soon enough and be able to have the same awesome experience that I did.

To Cindy Nguyen: Other Asian! To you I leave my gratitude of friendship. We were friends before, but once you joined guard we became really close, and I am really thankful because I am really glad I got to know you. Being a new person on guard while going through IB senior year is really rough, but you managed to pull through, and I applaud you for that. I’m sad that we are going to different colleges, but I know we will find a way to see each other.

To Eliza Budanio: To you I leave my constant encouragement. I know IB is tough, but just work through it and it will all work out. Just remember that you always have somewhere to go for encouragement, and knowing our team, someone is going through the exact same thing as you. Befriend them and take awesome pictures and then share them with me. 

To Elaine Newbern: To you I leave that first moment in our show when I lay my head on your leg. We bonded. Big time. To Alexandria Isais: I’ve known of you, but this year we really got a chance to become friends since you joined the team and all, and I’m really glad we got that chance. You’re a great person and great to talk to and the way you handled guard this season was awesome. Keep doing what you do and you will go very far.

To Aliyah Mollock: I’m kind of upset that we never created a nickname for you like we did for Sahdyah, but that doesn’t stop the fact that I still think you’re awesome.

To Kira Wade: To you I leave our field trip to the STEM expo. We never really get to talk anymore, so its nice when we actually get a chance to.

To Sahdyah Morgan: Beyonce! To you I leave our prom night, which easily was one of the highlights of senior year. I’m upset that I didn’t get to see you do gas pedal on the dance floor, though.

To Taylor Miller: To you I leave all of those mornings when both of us would get there before the rest of civilization. We kind of dropped that once the year progressed, but hey, it happens.
