Kingsman: The Secret Service was a success in the box office grossing a total of four hundred fourteen million. However, its sequel Kingsman: The Golden Circle crushed that number by exactly thirty-nine million. The old cast has returned as along with some new members joining and help the main character, Eggsy on his new adventure. In the previous movie, Eggsy, a high school dropout, found himself in trouble one way or another. Growing up with no father and an abusive step dad Eggsy found himself bailed out of jail by an unknown individual leading him to Kingsman. Eggsy is back once again to take on yet another challenge in saving the world. The destruction of the Kingsman headquarters leads Eggsy to a new ally in the U.S, the Statesmen. The two secret agencies must be united as one to defeat their new enemy, such a challenge has Eggsy never faced before. Taron Egerton returns as Eggsy joined by Colin Firth as Harry, Mark Strong as Merlin, Colin Firth as Harry, and a couple new faces such as Channing Tatum and Jeff Bridges. Taron, who had his rise to Hollywood with the first installation of the Kingsman franchise, has been appealing to some, “He is entertaining because well he is a kid, and he has a lot on his shoulders” said Cole Grissom, a SRHS Sophomore. Channing Tatum who plays the role of Tequila is believed to be played as an exaggerated version of himself. “It’s interesting to see Tatum join the Kingsman movies, I never thought he could play a funny spy but it will be exciting to see how he does” says Cole Rudnick, a SRHS Sophomore. Tatum also commented during an interview how he personally was thrilled during filming to see his character do things his childhood only dreamed of. Jeff Bridges yet another new cast member joins Channing Tatum with the Statesmen boos business. Bridges has a diverse background in Hollywood having starred in movies such as Iron Man, Tron Legacy, True Grit and many others. Bridges plays the role of Champagne, head of the Statesmen. In a recent interview Bridges told Comic Con reporters “I think one of the main reasons I enjoyed the first one is the surprises...you think you’ve got it figured out and then hit you with something from left field”. Halle Berry stars as Ginger named after the soda “Ginger-ale” and set to play “The Q of James Bond” for the Statesmen, as Mark Strong (Merlin) currently is for the Kingsman. Halle Berry is well known on the big screen with numerous appearances from Kidnap to Catwoman. Producer and Director, Matthew Vaughn landed a hit with the Kingsman movies. Growing up in London, Vaughn never really knew what he wanted to pursue until he began working as an assistant director in Los Angeles. Vaughn prior to Kingsman had directed movies such as X-Men series, and Stardust. The cast and crew seem to have Vaughn as a favorite “...The surprises... Matthew Vaughn who directed the first one was a master at that” Jeff Bridges commented on his appreciation for the first film. Vaughn has been known to use this style of surprises in his previous films stealing the audience's attention. Kingsman: The Golden Circle in all has the fans excited to see what comes as well as the cast members’ excitement. Fox has high hopes of the sequel and will make arrangements for a third film, should the sequel hit. .
