William Kain Park Sunday, August 9, 2020 – 8:30 and 10:30 AM

“God is for Us”

We won't fear the battle we won't fear the night We will walk the valley with You by our side You will go before us You will lead the way We have found a refuge only You can save

Chorus Sing with joy now our God is for us The Father's love is a strong and mighty fortress Raise your voice now no love is greater Who can stand against us if our God is for us

Even when I stumble even when I fall Even when I turn back still Your love is sure You will not abandon You will not forsake You will cheer me onward with never ending grace

Bridge Neither height nor depth can separate us Hell and death will not defeat us He who gave His Son to free us Holds me in His love

Responsive Scripture Declaration: Romans 8:28-39

Leader: And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to His purpose. For those whom He foreknew He also predestined to be conformed to the image of His Son, in order that He might be the firstborn among many brothers. And those whom He predestined He also called, and those whom He called He also justified, and those whom He justified He also glorified. What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us?

All: He who did not spare his own Son but gave Him up for us all, how will He not also with Him graciously give us all things?

Who shall bring any charge against God's elect?

It is God who justifies.

Who is to condemn?

Christ Jesus is the one who died—more than that, who was raised—who is at the right hand of God, who indeed is interceding for us. Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or danger, or sword? As it is written, “For your sake we are being killed all the day long; we are regarded as sheep to be slaughtered.”

No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us. For I am sure that neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers, nor things present nor things to come, nor powers, nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.

“My Jesus, I Love Thee”

My Jesus I love Thee I know Thou art mine For Thee all the follies of sin I resign My gracious Redeemer, my Savior art Thou If ever I loved Thee my Jesus 'tis now

I love Thee because Thou has first loved me And purchased my pardon on Calvary's tree I love Thee for wearing the thorns on Thy brow If ever I loved Thee my Jesus 'tis now

I'll love Thee in life I will love Thee in death And praise Thee as long as Thou lendest me breath And say when the death dew lies cold on my brow If ever I loved Thee my Jesus 'tis now

In mansions of glory and endless delight I'll ever adore Thee in heaven so bright I'll sing with the glittering crown on my brow If ever I loved Thee my Jesus 'tis now

“Great I Am”

I wanna be close close to Your side So heaven is real and death is I wanna hear voices of angels above Singing as one

Chorus Hallelujah holy holy God Almighty great I Am Who is worthy none beside Thee God Almighty great I Am

I wanna be near near to Your heart Loving the world hating the dark I wanna see dry bones living again singing as one

Bridge The mountains shake before You the demons run and flee At the mention of Your name King of majesty There is no power in hell or any who can stand Before the power and the presence of the great I Am

Central Thought: The calling of an apprentice is to be with Jesus, to become like Jesus, and to do what He did. Jesus described His way of life as an ongoing and vital connection to His Father, and we have the opportunity to do that as well. When we join God in the work that He's doing in the world, we find that we are joining Him in the incredible works that He's doing in the world.

Celebration at the Lord’s Table

Prayer for those searching for truth: Lord Jesus, You claim to be the Way, the Truth, and the Life. Grant that I might be undaunted by the cost of following You as I consider the reasons for doing so. If what You claim is true, please guide me, teach me and open me to the reality of who You are. Give me an understanding of You that is coherent, convincing, and that leads to the life You promise.

Prayer of belief: Lord Jesus Christ, I admit that I am weaker and more sinful than I ever dared admit but, through You, I am more loved and accepted than I ever dared hope. I thank You for paying my debt on the cross, taking what I deserved in order to offer me complete forgiveness. Knowing that You have been raised from the dead, I turn from my sins and receive You as my Savior and Lord.

“My Savior's Love”

I stand amazed in the presence of Jesus the Nazarene And wonder how He could love me a sinner condemned unclean

Refrain How marvelous how wonderful and my song shall ever be How marvelous how wonderful is my Savior's love for me

For me it was in the garden He prayed not My will but Thine He had no tears for His own griefs but sweat drops of blood for mine

He took my sins and my sorrows He made them His very own He bore the burden to Calvary and suffered and died alone

When with the ransomed in glory His face I at last shall see 'Twill be my joy through the ages to sing of His love for me

“Death was Arrested”

Alone in my sorrow and dead in my sin Lost without hope with no place to begin Your love made a way to let mercy come in When death was arrested and my life began

Ash was redeemed only beauty remains My orphan heart was given a name My mourning grew quiet my feet rose to dance When death was arrested and my life began Chorus Oh Your grace so free washes over me You have made me new now life begins with You

Released from my chains I'm a prisoner no more My shame was a ransom He faithfully bore He cancelled my debt and He called me His friend When death was arrested and my life began

Chorus Oh Your grace so free washes over me You have made me new now life begins with You It's Your endless love pouring down on us You have made us new now life begins with You Oh yes it does

Our Savior displayed on a criminal's cross Darkness rejoiced as though Heaven had lost But then Jesus arose with our freedom in hand That's when death was arrested and my life began That's when death was arrested and my life began

Bridge Oh we're free free forever we're free Come join the song of all the redeemed Yes we're free free forever amen When death was arrested and my life began

Jesus the name above every other name Jesus the only one who could ever save Worthy of every breath we could ever breathe We live for You we live for You

Chorus Holy there is no one like You there is none beside You Open up my eyes in wonder and show me who You are And fill me with Your heart And lead me in Your love to those around me

Bridge I will build my life upon Your love It is a firm foundation I will put my trust in You alone And I will not be shaken
