MIDWIFERY CARE OF PEEL & HALTON HILLS REGISTERED MIDWIVES Ultrasound scans are diagnostic tests ordered to assess fetal clinical health to guide the care you and your baby receive. Ultrasound findings can only be communicated to you by your clinician (midwife or radiologist). Support staff are NOT authorized to share clinical findings. Routine findings will ONLY be communicated to you at your next routine clinical appointment. Any ABNORMAL clinical findings will be communicated to you as soon as we are aware of them. Fetal sex is not a clinical finding but an incidental piece of information that may or may not be visible during a scan. Whether visible or not, we will not share fetal sex with you outside of your routine clinical appointments. Should you not wish to wait for information about your baby's fetal sex we would invite you to arrange for a 3D ultrasound which you can pay for privately.
