(16 CCR § 1426) (Consent) REQUESTED BY: Mary Ann McCarthy, Nursing Education Consultant BACKGROUND: According to Board policy, Nursing Education Consultants may approve minor curriculum changes that do not significantly alter philosophy, objectives, or content. Approvals must be reported to the Education/Licensing Committee and the Board. Minor Curriculum revisions include the following categories: • Curriculum changes • Work Study programs • Preceptor programs • Public Health Nurse (PHN) certificate programs A list of schools who have submitted Minor Curriculum Revisions, Clinical Agency or Facility Approvals, and Program Progress Reports, that have been approved by the Nursing Education Consultants, are in your materials packet as a tables named Minor Curriculum Revisions, Clinical Agency or Facility Approvals and Program Progress Reports. This is a consent agenda item and concludes my report. Schutte 04/01/2021 Temporary. UCI NS263 Frameworks for Professional Nursing moves Irvine Entry Level Master’s from Fall Quarter 2021 to Summer Quarter 2021 and is replaced with Degree Nursing Program NS262 Foundations of Professional Nursing Practice to accommodate continued remote instruction as required by the University during the COVID-19 pandemic period. This resequencing of courses does not change total units required for licensure or graduation. Effective date June 21, 2021 and is only in effect Summer and Fall Sessions 2021. The EDP-P-05a Total Curriculum Plan has been updated. BSN (alpha A-Z) Brandman University D. Schutte 4/30/2021 Temporary Minor Curriculum Revision for Brandman University due to Baccalaureate Nursing the impact of COVID-19 on the availability of clinical placements for Program pediatrics. The following Summer Session I 2021 courses will move to Fall Session 1 2021: NURU 454 Acute Care III and NURU 457 Acute Care III Practicum; NURU 462 Family Centered Care – Childbearing and NURU 465 Family Centered Care Practicum– Childbearing. The following Fall Session 1 will move to Fall Session 2: NURU 491 Leadership and NURU 493 Leadership Practicum; NURU 492 Capstone; and NURU 495 Capstone Practicum. An EDP-P-11 Nursing Curriculum and Clinical Facilities identifies faculty and clinical facility placements for Fall Sessions and 1 and 2. No change to EDP- P-06 CRL. California State University D. Schutte 03/09/2021 Permanent. CSUCI NRS 391 Transition to Practice Course (2 clinical Channel Islands units) moves from Content Required for Licensure to Other Degree Baccalaureate Degree Requirements. Total nursing clinical units change from 20 to 18 and Nursing Program overall total nursing units change from 38 to 36. Total Units for Licensure change from 66 to 64 with Total Units for Graduation remaining the same at 120. EDP-P-06 updated. CSU GE requirements changes from a 3-unit Humanities elective to a 3-unit Ethnic Studies elective. The EDP-P-05a revised. Nursing Program California State University K. Daugherty 05/07/2021 Permanent minor curriculum changes. Effective Fall 2021 change the Sacramento Baccalaureate course code/name from CHDV 30 Child Development to CHAD 30 Degree Nursing Program Lifespan with no changes in content or course units. Change science course requirements to include Soc 1 or Anthro 2 or Ethnic Studies or its equivalent to meet societal/cultural pattern requirements. Total science units, CRL and graduation units unchanged. California State University J Wackerly 04/1/2012 Temporary Unit change for classes N521/N520 and N531 from 3 units San Francisco to 2 units as clinical partners significantly cute down the clinical practice Baccalaureate Degree opportunity, times and hours, for nursing students. Nursing Program California State University J Wackerly 04/010/2021 Permanent change as a result of faculty curriculum review, course Stanislaus Baccalaureate name remain the same, course number change and updates to the Degree Nursing Program course objectives.
