Kfar Saba, founded in 1903, is a suburb of , located approximately 30 km from Ben Gurion International Airport and 25 km from Tel Aviv. It boasts a quiet atmosphere while providing housing to 90,000 warm-hearted citizens.

Kfar Saba was founded primarily on the precept of farming and its farmers mainly grew oranges and various other citrus fruits. However, due to the industrialization of the town about 40 years ago, farming began to wan and therefore fewer of its citizens earned an income from agriculture. Kfar Saba is now a thriving community which mainly earns its income from the high- tech industry. Kfar Saba also enjoys a reputation of high educational standards and serves as an example to other Israeli cities. Sports is also wholly integrated into the educational curriculum and is considered an important aspect of education. These sports include soccer, volleyball, and, of course, fencing. GOOD REASONS TO PARTICIPATE IN THE KFAR SABA JUNIOR WORLD CUP COMPETITION

Weather The average temperature in the month of March is a comfortable 20-25 degrees Centigrade and has between a 50-60% level of humidity since Kfar Saba is located approximately 15 km from the . Besides the comfortable temperatures, boasts a spring filled with blossoming flowers and a carnival atmosphere following a rainy winter season. This year, the Coupe du Monde falls during the holiday of Purim, the Jewish Mardi Gras or Festival of Masks. During this holiday, people hold parties, wear costumes and give food baskets as gifts. This is quite a colorful holiday!

Return of Expenses In order to encourage fencers to attend the competition and uphold the tradition of attracting world-class sportsmen/women, the organizing committee has decided to grant a return of expenses to all those who register prior to 31-1-04. These expenses include: Free roundtrip transportation to and from Ben Gurion International Airport. Free roundtrip transportation to and from the hotel to the competition. Free room/half-board for each fencer. ÆReturn of 100 Euro to each fencer upon presentation of flight ticket

* Any coach/escort accompanying a delegation of at least 3 fencers is entitled to the same conditions mentioned above.

Prizes Prizes will be awarded to those fencers who come in the first eight places. Security and Lodging Due to Israel's current sensitive security situation, strict security precautions will be taken to ensure the utmost safety of all those fencers, coaches, referees and escorts participating in the Kfar Saba Junior World Cup Competition. All fencers, coaches and escorts will be provided lodging at The Select Team Hotel at Wingate Institute which is located on a cliff overlooking the Mediterranean Sea near Netanya and 15 km from Kfar Saba. This is a closed, secure facility and works in close cooperation with Israel's security forces. Also present on the grounds are a fitness center, public beach, restaurant and cafeteria.
