Starting out formalities: departure days between 1.30 and 6 pm. Boarding: as soon as the boat is ready. On site:

Access:

A 62 - E 72 exit 7 Perigueux / Villeneuve sur Lot / Agen, then follow Agen - N21 - Bordeaux, then "Centre Hospitalier" (6 km) Train station Agen (1km). Take the pedestrian path underneath the tracks to reach the canal. The base is situated at 300 m to your right. Airport Agen-la-Garenne (5 km) Airport Toulouse-Blagnac (116 km) Airport Bordeaux Mérignac (147 km) Parking: enclosed, not guarded : € 35/week covered car park, not guarded : € 49/week. Number of places are strictly limited. Reservation by e-mail to the base necessary! They are given depending on the reservation order we received, with the concept first received, first served.

Shops:

Agen: closed on Sunday afternoons and Monday.

Markets: on Wednesdays, Saturdays and Sunday Mornings.

Gastronomic specialities: Foie gras, magret de canard, potted duck, goose and pork, stuffed chicken, wood pigeon salmis, garlic tourins, broad bean soup, pastis pie dish or with apples, prunes.

Local drinks:

Red wines from the Côtes de Brulhois, Buzet, Duras and Marmandais, Armagnac.

To see:

The Museum, the 'Coteau de l'Ermitage', cathedral Saint Caprais.

Fishing:

Fishing licence information at the base, trout, pike, zander, perch, eels, crayfish.

WATERWAYS INFORMATIONS

The automatic locks on the Canal Latéral à la Garonne have to be activated by the crew. They are open daily from 9 am to 7 pm (high season) or to 6 pm (low season). Closed on the 1st of May.

On the Baïse and the low Lot, the locks (automatic) have to be activated by a magnetic-card (available at the first lock). They are open daily from 9 am to 7 pm. A pilot drives the boat across the Garonne. The overcross is subject to a fee.

PARTICULARITIES: During springtime and at the end of October: risk of flooding on the Baïse, the Lot and the

Garonne, though not on the canal. Locks on the Lot and Baïse are all automatic, operated by magnetic card.
