Well Well Well… Remember how last month I mentioned how Collette, my pig, has been just as happy as can be in her house. Not being disturbed by the outside world like the big goats, or the dirty chickens, she occa- sionally gets a visit from Lucy and may miss her best friend the big ugly duck but besides that she is just con- stantly wagging her tail around in her princess style life. Unfortunately that came to a rude halt this month. Every morning, and evening, I feed/water, and open doors for the chickens, ducks and little goat Joe. Obvi- ously I feed and water Miss Piggy as well. Well the weather has been so nice I felt that I could leave her door open for the hour or so that I give everyone to get their food and water before I let the big goats out. See the big goats rule the “roost”, they take over everything, the food, water, hay, play things, everything! So I give everyone an hour or so to get their day under their feet, before letting the big guys out. One of these nice days, I forgot I left Collette's door open, and I went ahead and let the big goats out of their house on top of the hill. The goats found out that she is the keeper of the eating hay (her area has a shelf that we store the hay on). They made themselves at home in her section of the house and rammed her out of it, so much that the poor girl was BLEEDING! Alas Collette has finally made a debut outside of her house, she has officially ex- perienced the outdoors for the first time since THANKSGIVING! She ran around her pen for about an hour avoiding the goats, that were picking on her. I went out to save her and coerce her back into her house, even though this was the first time that black piggy skin had felt fresh air since NOVEMBER! Miss Collette was obvi- ously happy to see me to save her from the big goats and even happier when Lucy was there to herd them away from her, but there was now coercion happening… She sat on my feet for an hour, couldn't sit in the mud that was squishing into my shoes, but sat on top of them so her little piggy buns didnt get dirty. Those piggy buns didnt think about getting up and moving to her house at all! Mum came out and put the big goats, the chickens, and the ducks away so Collette was alone outside. She does not like being alone. (Remember she tried to stay inside my house the first night we got her!) We left her outside, in the sunshine, for a couple hours and my friend Ryan came over to help move my pig. I gave him the details of Thanksgiving and how ter- ribly rough it was to get her into her new house then, and he was prepared for the high pitched pig screams to follow. We got our plywood, that creates blinders, on both sides of her chubby face and with our mud boots on we walked her NO PROBLEMS AT ALL RIGHT BACK TO HER HOUSE! It was like it was any other day, and this was an everyday occurrence. It took Ryan longer to drive here then it did to get Collette back into her house! Boy did she play a joke on us or what!
