Presentations for two day event at the Pettigrew Center covered the following topics: “Dating Violence”, “Playing the Game: Keeping Yourself on the Field”, “Love, Lust, and Lies”, “Mature Thinking: Choices and Conflict Resolution”, “Peer Relationships and Bullying”, “Controlling Your Destiny”, “Suicide Prevention”, “Family Functions and Dysfunctions”, and “The Biology and Psychology of Anger and Violence”. The event was attended by students from twelve local high schools, alternatives schools, and special education programs (e.g., pregnant teen program).

• 2007 – Georgia Department of Corrections – Risk Reduction/Reentry Services (32 hrs.) “Train the Trainers/Facilitators – Sexual Offender Psychoeducational Program. The presentation covered the curriculum, the relapse prevention workbooks, and the facilitator’s tasks and responsibilities.

• 2007 – Basic Training for Family Violence Facilitators (116 hrs) – Under the auspice of the Georgia Department of Corrections, Fort Valley State University, and the Georgia Commission on Family Violence, the program provides facilitator trainees with the mandatory 84 hours of direct face-to-face contact facilitating or co-facilitating or participation as a trainee in male batterers group using a power and control model. Additionally, the program will educate the facilitator trainees (32 hours) on the requirements stipulated RULES OF THE BOARD OF CORRECTIONS, CHAPTER 125-4-9, FAMILY VIOLENCE INTERVENTION PROGRAM

• 2009 - FVSU/Project Yes Trainer – working with disadvantage by endorsing leadership training, suicide prevention, substance abuse awareness, and developing healthy lifestyle commensurate with their personal goals. The training empowers students to create change in their environments and connect authentically with their families and communities. • August 18, 2014 – Assigned as the coordinator for the Fort Valley State University Social Work Program. As the program coordinator, the following tasks are completed to ensure that the program is productive and effective in meeting the mission goals at FVSU:

o Coordinates, monitor or supervise the activities of the social work program. Develops and recommends new or revised program goals and objectives. o Develops and schedules program work plan in accordance with specifications and funding limitations; oversees daily operations and coordinates activities of program; determines priorities. o Monitors and approves program expenditures ensuring that budget allocations are not overspent. o Confers with and advises staff, students and others to provide technical advice, problem solving assistance, answers to questions and program goals and policy interpretation; refers to appropriate department person when unable to respond. o Coordinates activities of program with inter-related activities of other programs, departments or staff to ensure optimum efficiency and compliance with appropriate policies, procedures and specifications. o Prepares periodic reports, financial statements and records on program activities, progress, status or other special reports for management or outside agencies. o Evaluates program effectiveness to develop improved methods; devises evaluation methodology and implements; analyzes results and recommends and/or takes appropriate action. o Reviews applications or other program documents independently or in conjunction with supervisor to determine acceptance or make decisions pertaining to program. o Recruits program participants, members and volunteers utilizing most appropriate promotional or marketing methods, such as individual letters, brochures or presentations at meetings.

• September 15, 2014 - Presentation to Mercer University School of Nursing on the psychopathology and therapeutic regimen for sex offenders. The event was hosted by Bridget Holyfield Moss, LPC (1995 FVSU social work graduate)

GRANTS

• 1995 - Fort Valley State College was awarded a grant for $5,500.00 to establish a peer counseling/mediation program for violence prevention/intervention.

• 1999 - Fort Valley State University was awarded a grant for $11,650.00 peer education program on HIV/Aids.
