The Status of Carbon Offset Credit Offerings for Achieving “Tokyo Zero Carbon 4 Days in 2020” and Cooperation in the “Carbon Offset at Tokyo 2020 Games” Program
As the host city for the Olympic and Paralympic Games Tokyo 2020, the Tokyo Metropolitan Government (TMG) has invited facilities covered by the Tokyo Cap-and-Trade Program to cooperate by donating carbon offset credits for the hosting of the Games. The current status of cooperation in the program is shown below. We would also like to express our gratitude to cooperating businesses and call for cooperation in this program continually.

1) Achieving “Tokyo Zero Carbon 4 Days in 2020”: 720,000 t-CO2
Efforts to offset all CO2 emissions generated across Tokyo during the four days of the opening and
closing ceremonies of the Tokyo 2020 Games (approximately 720,000 t-CO2 equals 4 days’ worth of emissions)

Cooperation in efforts to “Implement the carbon offset for CO2 emissions related to the Tokyo 2020
