INFORMATION REPORT Special Group Recognition License Plate Committee I. STATUTORY DIRECTIVE The Indiana General Assembly enacted legislation directing the Committee to do the following: (1) Review applications for new special group recognition license plates. (2) Recommend new special group license plates to the Bureau of Motor Vehicles (BMV) for distribution. (3) Review special group license plates that have been in production for 10 years or more. (4) Make recommendations to the BMV regarding special group license plates that have been in production for 10 years or more. II. SUMMARY OF WORK PROGRAM The Committee met two times during the 2013 interim session: on July 30 and November 18. The Committee is not required to file a final report. SUMMARY OF TESTIMONY At the July 30 meeting, Ms. Elizabeth Murphy and Commissioner Scott Waddell of the BMV provided the Committee with information regarding the special group recognition license plate program. IV. COMMITTEE ACTION The Committee did not make any recommendations regarding current special group license plates. The Committee also did not consider any new special group license plates. .
