Meeting on Thursday the 29th of September, 2016 at 1800-19.30, Lecture Theatre 3.

2. MATTERS ARISING a. New PlayerLayer Rep, Lauren Moss. i. RD went over the method for ordering kit, and the importance of the Order Date as proof of order. Contact details: [email protected], office hours 14-16.30 on Thursday. b. Netball Club of the Year i. Congratulations to the netball club for being voted netball club of the year in . c. Presentation from Outgoing

3. PRESIDENT’S BUSINESS a. Varsity, Kingdom vs Capital and The Scottish Varsity matches. i. Edinburgh won Kingdom vs Capital 19-1. Congratulation to both of the rugby teams. b. SportsBox.

i. SportsBox is to target people who don’t normally get involved in sport. Will be launched at the start of next week. RD will be publicising via the SU’s media channels as well as help from EUSA, all clubs are asked to share information with their members both verbally and via social media. c. New Charity Partner – SAMH. i. Scottish association for mental health. The decision to change was made as Mental Health becomes a growing issue across the university. The SU wishes to play its part in the solution, and in helping all its members. ii. Next weekend (8th and 9th of October), SAMH are holding a national campaign to have collection buckets and awareness information in every Tesco’s in Scotland. If anyone wants to get their club involved get in touch with Robin. d. Club Meetings. i. A Doodle poll will go out on Friday the 30th so that presidents can sign up for a meeting with Robin to discuss targets for the year ahead. e. Club-Exec 1-2-1s. i. At least one meeting a month (can be more or less depending on what the club wants) with the clubs designated exec member. Skydiving will be added to Robin’s list. f. Presidents’ Dinner i. RSVP via the link on the email. One ticket for the club president, plus two extras, includes the after party at Lola Lo’s. After party tickets for non-dinner attendees will be £3. The club with the highest percentage of members attending the after party will receive a cash prize. g. MSL i. Ensure all club members sign up ASAP. 20 members are required for the club to be a member club of the SU, at present less than half qualify.

5. TREASURER’S BUSINESS a. Presentation of new SU budget. i. Club grants have gone down across the board this year. This is because the SU is paying for more than it has done in the past, on behalf of clubs. A new system has been put in place to keep club grants at a reasonable level, Robin and Georgie intend to spend the year in consultation with club treasurers devising a new method for going forward. b. Finance Committee i. Sign-ups are still available online.

6. SECRETARY’S BUSINESS a. Make sure you sign in to the GM and workshops.

7. INTRAMURAL’S BUSINESS a. Launch of new leagues.

i. Six aside woman’s hockey leagues on Fridays ii. Trying to get woman more involved in typically male dominated sports as well as getting more people involved in general.

8. PUBLICITY OFFICER’S BUSINESS a. Club of the Week i. The clubs with the lowest membership sign-ups will be advertised. Clubs will be invited to interview with the Publicity Officer so that he can write the best advert of each, giving people more information on what their sport is all about. b. New Publicity Committee i. This year George will be setting up a new publicity committee to help get as many clubs advertised as possible, with a heavy emphasis on getting University Sport better represented within the University media.

11. PARTICIPATION OFFICER’S BUSINESS a. Launch of Rec Sport i. What can your club do? ii. Sport in a new, fun way, with no training required e.g., glow in the dark volleyball. Again with the aim of getting as many people as possible involved in sport. b. Club Participation Officer’s roles. i. By the end of the year each club will have a participation officer. c. Mental Health Training – October 3rd&10th. i. Every club must have at least one attendee at a session at some point this year. ii. Note: the second date has been changed from the 4th to the 10th, details of date change to be sent out soon.

12. EUSU STAFF BUSINESS a. Edinburgh Award Dates i. TR the Edinburgh Award is recognition for the work you do in your committee roles. The meetings will be on Thursday the 17th of November, Tuesday the 24th of January and Thursday the 2nd of March, the dates are also on the SU website and MSL calendar. b. OC club members must have an SE memberships if the club uses SE facilities; the deadline is the 16th of October. i. A list of who has gym memberships will be sent out a week before the deadline. ii. £10 back to the club for every member who signs up. c. Only use the main gate when accessing Peffermill.
