The Lethal Legion and the Black Order are their chess pieces, and they’re fi ghting to claim Pyramoids, which wreak elemental havoc on their surroundings. Most of the world’s heroes and villains have been trapped in stasis to limit the number of “designated obstacles,” leaving behind only a handful of Avengers as the planet’s last line of defense. The return of Voyager, the lost founding Avenger, has increased their chances of survival, but the endgame has begun. So far, the Black Order and the Lethal Legion have each claimed a Pyramoid, and the Avengers have claimed two, but their team members were seemingly disintegrated as a result. With the title of “Grandmaster” on the line, the competitors are pulling out all the stops to claim the fi nal game piece: the Soul Pyramoid, which has been deployed directly on top of the hospital where longtime Avengers butler Jarvis is fi ghting for his life! And now that the Challenger has revealed that his ace in the hole is the strongest one there is, the odds have tipped dramatically in his favor… WRITERS Jim Zub, Mark Waid & Al Ewing PENCILER Paco Medina INKER Juan Vlasco Color Artist Jesus Aburtov Letterer VC’s Cory Petit CoVER Mark Brooks VARIANT COVER Editor in Chief C.B. THOR VOLUME 1 GODDESS OF THUNDER 1ST EDITION PDF, EPUB, EBOOK Jason Aaron | 9780785192381 | | | | | Thor Volume 1 Goddess of Thunder 1st edition PDF Book I was not at all disappointed. Even tropes that get overused in superhero comics where superheroes fight superheroes feel fresh here as we see Thor vs Thor, a unique conflict. But, overall, I thought Goddess of Thunder was a winner. But I appreciate what he is doing here. I've got no problems with a lady holding the hammer, mind you--she's awesomely fierce--the name thing is just sticking in my craw, because I'm a comic geek, and I smell like one too. Blake flees from the aliens into a cave. Accept all Manage Cookies. This doesn't hinder 'Thor, Vol. Original Title. Following the murder of Uatu and the revelation of his many secrets during the " Original Sin " storyline, Thor learns that Angela is the daughter of Odin and that she was thought to have been killed during Asgard's war with the Angels of the Tenth Realm. They handled the handover to the female Thor really well and the whole story is packed with great action. But it's unlike any Thor we've ever seen before. It might be fun to delve into the old Norse legends Lady Thor was an excellent character. Retrieved July 28, I liked the role reversal and a woman taking the mantel of Thor, instead of it being just an accident the woman actually picks it up which proves she is definitely worthy. All of the Avengers are going to have to stop calling him Thor and start calling him Odinson , now? My knowledge of the character comes from the Marvel movies, plus the variations of Norse mythology.
