Convergent projects must have a traditional broadcast component and a rich and substantial digital media Program component. Aboriginal Program English POV Program Approved applications for the English Development Envelopes as of March 31, 2011 are listed below. Commitments total $7 million. Diverse Languages Approved applications are shown with the title of the convergent project, the applicant production company, region of production, project Program component viewing platform, the content type of the digital media component, the corporate group envelope, and the amount committed Versioning Program to each component. If the digital media component receives no funding from the CMF, it will not appear on this list. For inter-provincial English Development co-productions, the region of control reflects the residence of the majority co-producer and the location of principal photography. At Degrassi: The Next Generation, engaging our fans and encouraging them to become ambassadors for the show, is our number one priority. We love to see our fans express themselves about the themes we develop in the show, and technology provides the tools to make this possible. There comes a point, however, when technology is used to go one step too far. At Degrassi we draw the line at the pirating of episodes before they go to air and the use of our content or our fans' content by other people in order to profit at our collective expense. When unauthorized people profit from the use of Degrassi content, it crosses the line of fairness and affects our ability to produce a quality series—one which has become a prized cultural product and job creator in Canada. Television production can only flourish and provide opportunities to actors, producers and the scores of others working in the field, if we have a set of rules that protects original creators. Such laws, that are up-to-date with today's digital environment, are imperative to helping us protect our creative content from those who would misuse technology.

Participants • Delegates: youth screen-based media enthusiasts – those who think it up, produce it and deliver it (writers, researchers, directors, assistants, hosts, actors, target audience analysts, producers, distributors, technicians, artistic directors). • Speakers: local and international guests selected for their talent and expertise came to share their experiences and show us their programs and multimedia products. • Workshop leaders: recognized professionals in Canadian youth production. 2. Conference agenda and content From November 18 to 20, 2015, Youth Media Alliance brought together about 200 youth production professionals from Canada and abroad for its Children, Youth & Media Conference in Toronto. The Conference is a prime networking opportunity for creators, producers and broadcasters of children’s and youth media industry. The event drew speakers and facilitators from all over Canada and the United States, as well as the Netherlands and United Kingdom.
