Their theater work includes Hundred Days (La Jolla Playhouse, New York Theatre Workshop, National Tour), The Lucky Ones (Ars Nova), The Keep Going Song (Actor’s Theatre of Louisville), Where the Mountain Meets the Sea (ATL’s Humana Festival), Anything That Gives Off Light (Edinburgh Theatre Festival, The Public Theater), You’ll Still Call Me By Name (New York Live Arts, Jacob's Pillow), and Iphigenia in Aulis (Classic Stage Company). Their music has been featured on “So You Think You Can Dance” (FOX). They have received the Jonathan Larson and Richard Rogers awards and nominations for the Drama Desk, Drama League, and Lucile Lortel awards. Shaun is a Dayton native and the Bengsons are proud to get to be a part of this wonderful production. Ian Benjamin (Composer “The At- Home Rag”) grew up in Dayton, where his passion for the performing arts was ignited and nurtured by Kay Wean. He spent thirteen consecutive summers in the Epiphany Players musical (sometimes sharing the stage with Mrs. Sears) before going on to study Acting and Musical Theatre at Wright State University. Since graduating in 2015, he has traveled to over forty different countries and performed for thousands of international guests on luxury cruise ships. He is a singer, actor, pianist, music director, composer, and baseball enthusiast. Ian lives with his wife, Eva, in New York City. Matthew P. Benjamin (Lighting Designer) is the Head of the Theatre Design/Technol- ogy Program in Wright State University’s Department of Theatre, Dance and Motion Pictures. Professional credits include seven seasons as the resident lighting designer for the Opera Theatre of Lucca, Italy. Other design work includes productions with the Aspen Music Festival, Alley Theatre, Cincinnati Opera, CATCO, TriCities Opera, Luna Negra Dance Theatre, Dayton Contemporary Dance Company, Dayton Opera, Opera at Florham, and ballettech Ohio, among others. Member: United Scenic Art- ists. Matt is pleased to be returning to work with Megan and The Castle Players this year!!! Gabriel Bordner (Composer “Isolated Nation”) is 11 years old and was born in Day- ton, Ohio. He currently lives in Melbourne, Florida. Gabriel has been playing piano since the age of 5 and started composing at the age of 8. In his free time, he enjoys coding, performing in musical theater and playing the cello. He would like to thank Mrs. Sears for giving him the opportunity to compose a song for her show. David Brush (Co-Creator/Writer/Lyricist “Something to Leave Behind”, “Home Enough to Me”/Writer of “Scared to Life”) is a director, music director, vocal coach and librettist/lyricist for five original musicals. He received his M.A. in Theatre from Regent University and has assisted in the development of over 15 original musi- cals - two of which had successful Off-Broadway runs. His producer credits include: Off-Broadway - Hot Mess in Manhattan; Regional - Pump Up The Volume, The Consequences, and Spring Awakening. Directing credits include regional premieres of Next Thing You Know, Rent, 35mm, The Last Five Years, Tick, Tick...Boom! and Rea- sons to Be Pretty. Writing credits include: Summer of My German Soldier (American Harmony Prize 2014, Chicago Stages Finalist); The Anxiety Project (New York, Original Cast Recording streaming now); and the upcoming Amelia and Coyote Sunrise. With Alter, David has served as Music Director for the past seven years and also served as Co-Director for And Then They Came for Me and The Guys. David has also served on the directing team for Epiphany Lutheran Church for the last seven summer musicals. David is a member of the Dramatists Guild, teaches musical theatre voice and serves as adjunct for Sinclair Community College. (For CEB) Ryan Burgdorf (Sound Designer/Engineer) Is happy to return to Alter Castle Players for another amazing production! His credits at Alter as Sound Designer/Engineer include: Once on This Island and Thoroughly Modern Millie. His recent professional credits as a sound engineer include: americUS (Cincinnati Playhouse in the Park)The Frog Princess, Fun Home (Ensemble Theater of Cincinnati), Lizzie (Human Race Theater Company), The Music Man (Asolo Repertory Theater). Ryan was also the audio supervisor for the Hudson Valley Shakespeare company last spring. He also works part time for local pro- duction companies in the area. Ryan is a graduate of Wright State University where he received a BFA in Sound Design from the Theater Design and Technology program. He is thrilled to be once again working with the talented students of Alter! Rachel Dean (Composer “Lights Fade”, “Something to Leave Behind”, “Home Enough to Me”) is a New York City-based composer, pianist, and music director. She is a pianist for Hamilton and Moulin Rouge on Broadway as well as a staff pianist at NYU Steinhardt. An ASCAP award recipient, Rachel’s work has been performed in New York, Tokyo, Mi- ami, Ohio, Arizona, and New Jersey. Musicals in development include The Anxiety Proj- ect (with David Brush), On the Line (with Amy Burgess; upcoming production at Rubber City Theatre), Medusa (with Wes Braver), and The Ballad of Janis Matthews and the Dodo Scouts (with Giancarlo Rodaz). Rachel is a member of ASCAP and AFM Local 802. Kim Harvey (Costume Designer) has been with the Alter Castle Players for 3 years. Her favorite shows to costume have been Thoroughly Modern Millie with the Castle Players and Why We Tell the Story with the Epiphany Players Drama Ministry. She has had a love of costuming since she was a young adult when she made Belle and Jasmine cos- tumes for her and her best friend. She would like to thank Megan for trusting her with her vision and Lori for being such an amazing partner and mentor. She would also like to thank her daughter for inspiring her to make costumes ranging from Alice In Won- derland to “A plate of spaghetti” and just about everything in between.
