The Raiders are coming off of a 4-3 2017-18 16-19-6-2, 40 PTS win over the WHL-leading Moose Jaw Warriors on Saturday night. Jordy 2016-17 8-31-2-2, 20 PTS Stallard (2g-1a) and Curtis Miske (1g-2a) each had a three-point night to lead LEADERS GOALS J. Stallard (29) the charge offensively for the Raiders. Kody McDonald scored the fourth and ASSISTS C. Fonstad (34) final Raiders’ goal of the evening. In goal, Curtis Meger stopped 19 shots to POINTS J. Stallard (56) earn his sixth win of the season.

VS. REGINA: This is fifth of eight meetings between the Raiders and the Pats this season and the third of four at the Art Hauser Centre. In their last trip to Prince Albert, the Pats edged the Raiders 2-1 on the strength of a 47-save performance by Tyler Brown.

SCORING IN BUNCHES: With two goals and an assist on Saturday, Jordy Stallard recorded his fifth three-point game of the season. Three of those games were at home. It was also his 10th multi-point game at home this year. The Winnipeg Jets draft pick is also two assists shy of 100 for his WHL career.

COMING UP CLUTCH: Kody McDonald has picked the perfect time to score his two goals with the Raiders. Both of McDonald’s goals were game winners on back-to-back Saturdays. McDonald now has seven game-winning goals this season between the Prince George Cougars and the Raiders.

The Lead Up: Pats offence explodes in win over Calgary Saturday The Regina Pats got a goal and four assists from Josh Mahura in a 8-2 win over the Calgary Hitmen on Saturday night at the Brandt Centre. Logan Nijhoff (3), Jesse Gabrielle (1) and Jared Legien (17) all scored in the first period to make it a 3- 0 Pats lead. In the second, Josh Mahura picked up his 14th to extend the lead before Sam Steel scored on a shorthanded breakaway for his 16th and it was a 5-0 game. The Hitmen got one back before the end of the period to trail by four heading to the third. In the final frame, Jesse Gabrielle scored his second of the night, Robbie Holmes snapped home his 13th of the season and Matt Bradley rounded out the scoring with a highlight reel goal for his 27th in an 8-2 final score. Mahura led the way with five points while Cale Fleury, Jesse Gabrielle, Jared Legien and Sam Steel each had three points.

Head to Head Tonight is the fifth of eight meetings between the Pats and Raiders, Regina has won the first four in the season series. The Pats have outscored Prince Albert 13-7 in the first four matchups. Matt Bradley leads the Pats with a goal and five assists against P.A. while Jake Leschyshyn has five points and Josh Mahura and Cale Fleury have each put up four points. Jordy Stallard leads the Raiders with four points against Regina, Spencer Moe and Brayden Pachal each had three points.

Kubic’s Strong Start Goaltender Ryan Kubic is off to a great start in his Regina Pats career. The 19-year-old has started three straight games since being acquired from Saskatoon, going 2-0-1-0 with a 2.31 goals against average and a .940 save percentage. The product of St. Andrews, MB highlighted his impressive first week with a 47 save performance in a 3-1 win over the Tigers on Friday.

Mahura Hits 100 Pats defenceman Josh Mahura eclipsed the 100 point mark for his WHL career on Saturday with his five point effort against Calgary. The signed prospect of the has 104 points in his career in 161 games between Regina and Red Deer. Pats make three deals on WHL Trade Deadline Day The Pats were busy on January 10 acquiring four players in three different trades. First the team acquired Edmonton Oilers prospect Cameron Hebig and goaltender Ryan Kubic from Saskatoon for Tyler Brown, Bryan Lockner and draft picks. In the afternoon the Pats picked up defenceman Aaron Hyman from Seattle for Owen Williams and a pick. The final trade of the day was with the Lethbridge Hurricanes, getting defenceman Brady Pouteau for a draft pick.

Pats trade for Lightning prospect Libor Hajek The Pats Hockey acquired Tampa Bay Lightning prospect defenceman Libor Hajek from the Saskatoon Blades on January 8. In exchange the Pats send 19-year-old defenceman Dawson Davidson, prospect forward Tristen Robins and a first round pick in 2019 to the Blades. Hajek (6’2, 210), is playing in his 19-year-old season in the WHL. Hajek, a second round pick of the Lightning in 2016, represnted the Czech Republic at the World Junior Hockey Championships where he had a goal and seven assists in seven games.

Pats Acquire Gabrielle and Harkins from Prince George The Pats acquired Boston Bruins prospect forward Jesse Gabrielle and defenceman Jonas Harkins from the Prince George Cougars on Friday, January 5. In exchange, the Pats send prospects Kjell Kjemhus and Ethan McColm to the Cougars along with third and fifth round picks in the 2018 WHL Bantam Draft. Gabrielle has been playing the first half of the season in the with the Providence Bruins. The 20-year-old has put up a goal and three assists in his first 21 games as a pro. Harkins was a second round pick by the Cougars in 2015.

Steel Golden Pats Captain Sam Steel and Team Canada won the gold medal last night at the World Junior Hockey Championships with a 3-1 win over Sweden on January 5. Steel had an assist in the win and had at least a point in all seven games of the tournament, scoring four goals and adding five assists.

Pats acquire Jared Legien in trade with Victoria On December 27, the Regina Pats Hockey Club announced they acquired 19-year-old forward Jared Legien from the Victoria Royals. In exchange the Pats sent 19-year-old Braydon Buziak and a conditional 7th round pick in 2018 to the Royals. Legien (6’1, 194), originally a first round pick of the Kootenay ICE in 2013, ninth overall, is enjoying a career year in the WHL. The product of Pilot Butte, Saskatchewan has scored 13 goals and has 20 assists for 33 points in 33 games in Victoria. Legien started his career in Kootenay in 2014 before being picked up by the Royals ahead of the 2017- 18 season. In 120 games he has 17 goals and 42 points.

Pats Acquire Mahovlich from Kamloops The Regina Pats Hockey Club acquired 18-year-old forward Scott Mahovlich from the Kamloops Blazers in exchange for a seventh round pick in 2018 on November 28. Mahovlich (6’2, 187) is playing in his second full season in the WHL, last year with the Blazers he scored one goal and had four assists in 48 games. The Abbotsford, B.C. product played his minor hockey at the Yale Hockey Academy in Abbotsford and won a CSSHL Championship in 2014-15.

Pats Acquire Cale Fleury from Kootenay The Pats acquired Montreal Canadiens prospect defenceman Cale Fleury from the Kootenay ICE on Monday November 13. In exchange, the Pats sent 18-year-old defenceman Jonathan Smart, 16-year-old forward Cole Muir, a 2nd round pick in 2018, a 6th round pick in 2018 and a conditional pick in 2019 or 2020 to the ICE. Fleury was drafted 87th overall in the third round of the 2017 NHL Draft by the Montreal Canadiens.

Pats Acquire Sidaway and a pick from Kootenay The Regina Pats Hockey Club acquired 18-year-old forward Tanner Sidaway, as well as a seventh round pick in 2018 from the Kootenay ICE in exchange for 19-year-old forward Jeff de Wit on October 10, 2017. Sidaway (6’0, 181) is playing in his second full season in the WHL, last year with the ICE he scored two goals and had eight points in 65 games. Sidaway was originally a listed player by the Red Deer Rebels, but was sent to Kootenay in a trade in January of 2016.

Pats Acquire Bradley from Medicine Hat The Pats acquired 20-year-old forward Matt Bradley from the Medicine Hat Tigers along with a second round pick in 2018 and a fifth round pick in 2019 on May 23, 2017. In exchange the Pats sent 18-year-old goaltender Jordan Hollett to the Tigers.

Pats Trade Draft Picks for Morrisseau On June 13, 3017 Regina acquired 17-year-old forward Koby Morrisseau from the Spokane Chiefs along with a conditional 5th round draft pick in 2020. In exchange, the Pats sent a 4th round pick in either 2019 or 2020 and a conditional 3rd in 2020 to the Chiefs.

Schioler and Bradley Attend NHL Camps Pats defencemen Liam Schioler as well as forward Matt Bradley all attended NHL rookie camps in the fall of 2017. Schioler was a free agent invite by the Edmonton Oilers and Bradley by the Minnesota Wild.

Pats Trade for Goaltender The Pats acquired 17-year-old goaltender Jacob Wassermann from the Vancouver Giants on September 13, 2017. In exchange, the Pats traded a sixth round pick in the 2018 WHL Bantam Draft to the Giants. The day previous, Regina traded goaltender Kurtis Chapman to the Kootenay ICE for a conditional 6th round pick in 2018.
