DR. ANTHONY PERL—AN ASSESSMENT OF PAST, PRESENT AND FUTURE OF CANADIAN RAIL PASSENGER OPTIONS

Dr. Anthony Perl has recently published a book with the University Press of Kentucky entitled, “New Departures-Rethinking Rail Passenger Policy in the Twenty-First Century”. This book has been well received by reviewers and makes a positive contribution to the review of transportation policy surrounding the resurgence of passenger rail. The Van Horne Institute awarded Dr. Perl a fellowship to develop the “New Departures” text as well as the creation of separate text (referenced above) that relates specifically to Canadian railway passenger policy. Some members of The Van Horne Institute have reviewed this text and Dr. Perl has incorporated, where possible, these comments. The Van Horne Institute is seeking funds to assist in the publication of this work.
