Our cover feature, which is a UFO crash case and what Dr. Allen Hynek described as ‘high strangeness’ cases. In other words, UFOs up-close and personal! My old friend and colleague Russ Callaghan asks a very vital question ‘Where is all the evidence?’ Let’s start with the UFO crash case. There are many of course with the most famous being that in Roswell in 1947. It strikes me as extremely peculiar that if UFOs are vehicles from another world (ET) then their technology must be thousands if not tens of thousands of years in advance of ours, yet they still manage to crash when they get here. Is it only me who finds this peculiar? Our own brief ventures into space saw no manned missions crash when going to the moon although Apollo 13 did explode en-route. However, when we’ve tried to send various vehicles (all unmanned) to the planet Mars approximately 50% of these have crashed or malfunctioned in same way. Surely ET can do better than us? Now when it comes to the ‘high strangeness’ cases such as UFO landings sometimes with accompanying occupants how come there is no reliable movie film or photographs of such events? Today there are countless millions of mobile phones all around the world most of which have cameras, but have we captured one bona-fide UFO landing on film? Not to my knowledge. I personally have investigated a UFO landing case complete with humanoids back in the 1980’s and I have no doubt that the witnesses in question were telling the truth. But what perplexes me is that the UFO landing in question took place on a bright sunny day next to a busy housing estate and only a stone’s throw away from a very busy motorway but yet no other witnesses came forward. Not only that, the landed UFO and its occupants didn’t leave any trace behind in the field where the incident took place, not even a bent blade of grass. How come? You will see a number of question marks throughout this editorial and these are questions that I personally believe ufology has generally either ignored or has made up fantastical theories to try and explain them. We have a few good quality images of UFOs in the sky but none of the close encounters case on the ground. How come? It just does not make sense to me. I may be naïve, I may be missing something but these answers have to be addressed and as far as I am concerned until they are we will be no closer to uncovering the facts surrounding the ufo enigma than we were in 1947 when Kenneth Arnold made his historic sighting.
