  • Wxw Holds Keynote on Wxw NOW Streaming
wXw holds keynote on wXw NOW streaming service, announces details on Germany's first wrestling network wXw just announced the first in-depth details on our new "wXw NOW" streaming network, which will launch one month from now on 8/13 at www.wxwnow.de. It will not just be a collection of shows like a lot of companies offer for a monthly fee via Pivotshare but also offer original content and a lot of archived shows, some dating back as far as 2006. We will also have our uniquely designed interface/UI, while hosting and infrastructure will be managed by Vimeo, our long-time streaming partner, dating back to 2013. Wrestling journalist Markus Gronemann (DarkMat.eu, Wrestling Observer) considers this to be the biggest launch of an over-the-top pro wrestling channel by a single promotion since New Japan World. wXw Managing Director Christian Jakobi held a keynote presentation tonight at 8 pm CEST at the wXw Wrestling Academy training school, which was streamed live on Facebook (the video is available, albeit only in German, here) and talked about what future and past events and what kind of original content would be available. We had up to 750 viewers simultaneously on Facebook and also had some students and a trainer (Toby Blunt) in attendance to provide some crowd noise and cheering at key points during the announcement. Marquee Events are wXw's version of pay-per-view caliber shows, where feuds start and end and international talent often appears. There currently are 10 marquee events on the calendar, with some of them being multi-day shows:

COMMENCEMENT THIS IS NOT AN OFFICIAL GRADUATION LIST While every effort is made to ensure accuracy in this commencement program, printing deadlines may result in omission of some names and use of names of persons not completing graduation requirements as intended. This printed program, therefore, should not be used to determine a student’s academic or degree status. The university’s official registry for conferral of degrees is the student’s permanent academic record as reflected on the student’s transcript, maintained by the Office of the University Registrar. Commencement SPRING 2020 Greetings from the President n behalf of the University of Florida, our faculty and our entire university community, I would like to extend my deepest congratulations to you, the Graduates of 2020. OI celebrate your remarkable accomplishment in earning a degree from one of the world’s leading research institutions. I applaud you for the education you have received, for honing your creative, scientific, or analytical skills and for your achievements as students. I join you in thanking your professors, advisors and family and friends for their contributions to your success. This is a time for celebration, but also for reflection on your future. I am confident that the knowledge and experience you gained as a UF student will serve you well regardless of your career or how you choose to invest your life. The university has benefited from your active engagement and contributions to your classes, programs of study and your peers, and we are grateful for your time here. We hope you will recall these years fondly, and that you will remain connected to UF as active members of our distinguished alumni.

  • When Did British Wrestling Get So Big? Ben Carass
Cubed Circle Newsletter – Best of 2015 Issue With the 2015 Cubed Circle Yearbook and end of the year fast approaching, we have decided to put together a Cubed Circle Recap issue this week, encapsulating some of the best content the newsletter had to offer in 2015 ahead of our biggest issue of the year coming up in less than two weeks. This special issue will be released alongside the new, and hopefully improved, cubedcirclewrestling.com. The site has been made dramatically easier to navigate, and the content is far more organised, which should make for a better user experience. The site logo has also changed, as visitors of the website will quickly notice. As always, any feedback is very much appreciated, particularly as far as the new website is concerned, as, realistically speaking, we should have some growing pains, although the old-site, one could argue, was the manifestation of three or so years of growing pains. But, for now, we hope you enjoy this special issue, and we will be back with another issue in approximately ten days – what will be, if not the biggest, hopefully the best issue we have ever published. Merry Holidays and Happy New Year, everyone! – Ryan Clingman, Cubed Circle Newsletter Editor When Did British Wrestling Get So Big? Ben Carass On November 13th 2004, FWA (Frontier Wrestling Alliance) ran the biggest post-World of Sport era show the British Wrestling scene had ever seen. A reported 1,785 fans saw such names as Terry Funk, Drew McDonald, AJ Styles, Colt Cabana, Paul Burchill, Spud and Doug Williams on the card at the Coventry Skydome that night for British Uprising III.

  • Year Ago, Inspired by the Dr. Keith Presents Annuals of 2011 and 2012, We Published
year ago, inspired by the Dr. Keith Presents Annuals of 2011 and 2012, we published the Ainaugural Cubed Circle Yearbook, attempting to encapsulate what was a pivotal year for professional wrestling in 2014. This year we hope to do the same, albeit for a year of a decidedly different sort. 2015 was dissimilar to 2014 in many respects. It didn't see moments as grandiose as the end of the Undertaker's Streak, Daniel Bryan's WrestleMania victory, or the Guerrero-Atlantis mask match. When evaluated from afar 2015 may even appear stagnant in comparison, as did many of the world's largest and most influential promotions during the year – WWE, NJPW, and CMLL in particular. But, upon closer inspection, the seemingly motionless landscape of 2015 wasn't only very much alive, but both morose and vibrant, disheartening and emboldening. The open wrestling fan of 2015 had more choice and freedom than perhaps ever before, with some ardent observers of the industry even abandoning Monday Night RAW for lack of faith in the lumbering weekly juggernaut. Some turned to Lucha Underground, a show that garnered considerable cult popularity. Others looked to alternative facets of the company such as NXT, which grew beyond what many considered its zenith at the end of 2014, harbouring one of the better years for American women's wrestling in decades. AAA showed promise and ambition on several fronts, but was subject to unfortunate, and at times tragic, circumstances. NJPW was as repetitive creatively as it had been under the Kidani administration, but produced one of the best nights of wrestling of the last several years in WrestleKingdom 9 – made more readily available to an American audience than ever before.
