Those on the gills of Ch.orinemus tala were picked from specimens of fish preserved in 5 per cent formalin in the field and examined in the laboratory after washing and stainin.g as above, but the fixation was not satisfactory. -

The body tegument is composed of an external syncytial layer, musculature, and an inner layer containing tegu- mental cells. The syncytium consists of a matrix containing three types of body inclusions and mi- tochondria. The musculature is constituted of several layers of longitudinal and circular muscle fi- bers. The tegumental cells present a well-developed nucleus, cytoplasm filled with ribosomes, rough endoplasmatic reticulum and mitochondria, and characteristic organelles of tegumental cells. Zoosystema 39 (4): 501-598. https://doi.org/10.5252/z2017n4a5 ABSTRACT 313 nominal species of monogenean parasites of aquatic vertebrates occurring in Mexico are included in this checklist; in addition, records of 54 undetermined taxa are also listed. All the monogeneans registered are associated with 363 vertebrate host taxa, and distributed in 498 localities pertaining to 29 of the 32 states of the Mexican Republic. Th e checklist contains updated information on their hosts, habitat, and distributional records. We revise the species list according to current schemes of KEY WORDS classifi cation for the group. Th e checklist also included the published records in the last 11 years, Platyhelminthes, Mexico, since the latest list was made in 2006. We also included taxon mentioned in thesis and informal distribution, literature. As a result of our review, numerous records presented in the list published in 2006 were Actinopterygii, modifi ed since inaccuracies and incomplete data were identifi ed. Even though the inventory of the Elasmobranchii, Anura, monogenean fauna occurring in Mexican vertebrates is far from complete, the data contained in our Testudines. -

Boeger3 Abstract Background: The rather species-poor oviparous gyrodactylids are restricted to South America. It was suggested that they have a basal position within the otherwise viviparous Gyrodactylidae. Accordingly, it was proposed that the species-rich viviparous gyrodactylids diversified and dispersed from there. Methods: The mitochondrial genome of Aglaiogyrodactylus forficulatus was bioinformatically assembled from next-generation illumina MiSeq sequencing reads, annotated, and compared to previously published mitochondrial genomes of other monogenoidean flatworm species. Results: The mitochondrial genome of A. forficulatus consists of 14,371 bp with an average A + T content of 75.12 %. All expected 12 protein coding, 22 tRNA, and 2 rRNA genes were identified. Furthermore, there were two repetitive non-coding regions essentially consisting of 88 bp and 233 bp repeats, respectively. Maximum Likelihood analyses placed the mitochondrial genome of A. forficulatus in a well-supported clade together with the viviparous Gyrodactylidae species. The gene order differs in comparison to that of other monogenoidean species, with rearrangements mainly affecting tRNA genes. In comparison to Paragyrodactylus variegatus, four gene order rearrangements, i. e. three transpositions and one complex tandem-duplication-random-loss event, were detected. Conclusion: Mitochondrial genome sequence analyses support a basal position of the oviparous A. forficulatus within Gyrodactylidae, and a sister group relationship of the oviparous and viviparous forms. -

ABSTRACT This paper is the twelfth installment of the present series presenting the data concerning monogenetic trematodes collected during the years 1951-1954 at the Alligator Harbor Marine Laboratory of Florida State University. It comprises an emendation of the family Gastrocotylidae Price, 1943 and the subfamily Gastrocotylinae Sproston, 1946 and descriptions and/or discussions of several species. The new genera Scomberocotyle and Neothoracocotyle have been diagnosed with Scomberocotyle scomberomori (Koratha, 1955) n. comb. and Neothoracocotyle coryphenae (Yamaguti, 1938) n. comb., respectively as their type species. (Monogenea) from common dentex (Dentex dentex) in the Mediterranean Sea, Greece Jin Woo Jun Laboratory of Aquatic Biomedicine, College of Veterinary Medicine and Research Institute for Veterinary Science, Seoul National University, Seoul 151-742, Republic of Korea. Received 30 June, 2015; Accepted 13 August, 2015 The monogenean Microcotyle sp. was isolated from common dentex in the Sea of Crete, the part of the Mediterranean Sea. The 28S rRNA gene of Microcotyle sp. was amplified by polymerase chain reaction (PCR). The PCR product was sequenced and compared with other 28S rRNA sequences of Monogenea. Phylogenetic analyses were performed with neighbour-joining (NJ), minimum evolution (ME), maximum likelihood (ML) and maximum parsimony (MP) method. The result of analysis shows that NJ and ME method presented the same topology; ML method led to a similar but slightly different topology from NJ or ME method; MP method resulted in a totally different topology from the other methods. Also, Microcotyle sp. isolated in this study was proven to be closest to Microcotylidae gen. sp. MAF-2012 and Bivagina pagrosomi. INTRODUCTION Mediterranean mariculture production has focused on two infections (Rodgers and Furones, 1998). Monogeneans species: gilthead seabream (Sparus aurata L.) and have been considered as a factor limiting aquaculture European sea bass (Dicentrarchus labrax L.) (Akyol and productivity as it frequently causes mixed infections with Ertosluk, 2010).
