NEW MOUNTAIN BIKE TRAILS & BIKING EVENTS • NEW 24 MILE SNOWMASS LOOP TRAIL – With over 90 miles of trails, Snowmass is a mountain biker’s heaven, whether it’s a gravity-defying rush of a world-class downhill trail or a gentle single track through meadows bursting with wildflowers. Bike Snowmass offers lift-served terrain to cross country trails and some of Colorado’s best mountain biking trails. The new Snowmass Loop trail debuts in late June, consisting of 24 miles of sinuous and continuous single track combining over 10 different trails and can be divided into 3 or 4 different routes. The terrain ranges from high desert and Oak mountain shrub lands to Aspen groves and cool shaded Conifer forest. Also, 3 more miles of trail will be added by the end of summer of 2016 with the addition of the “7-Star Trail,” which will connect the North Rim to the Ditchline Trail in Sky Mountain Park in Snowmass. Click here for more trail details. • NEW ENDURO WORLD SERIES HEADQUARTERED IN SNOWMASS – The only U.S. stop of the Enduro World Series, (EWS) bike competition will take place in Aspen Snowmass, Colo., Saturday, July 30, and Sunday, July 31, 2016. EWS features eight rounds across three continents, including four completely new venues in Chile, Argentina, and the USA (Aspen Snowmass, Colorado). The series brings in some of the best mountain biking competitors in the world along with legends of the sport. Snowmass serves as the event headquarters, hosting lodging and the EWS expo area, and bringing world-class mountain biking competition to Snowmass.

ARTS & CULINARY NEWS • ANDERSON RANCH ARTS CENTER CELEBRATES 50TH ANNIVERSARY – Anderson Ranch Arts Center celebrates an incredible milestone—50 years at the forefront of art making and ideas in art. Throughout the year, Anderson Ranch will host exciting events that honor this legacy and the evolution of the Ranch today—and where it will be in the next 50 years. Working with local and national partners, Anderson Ranch will present symposiums, exhibitions, lectures and more featuring some of the Ranch’s “art all-stars,” many of the important faculty, students, Artists-in-Residence, Visiting Artists and more who have come through the Ranch. The excitement includes a festive weeklong celebration at the Anderson Ranch campus in Snowmass, July 17 to 22, 2016, during which events will draw upon the Ranch’s roots as a place for exchange of ideas—continuing to spark dialogue and innovation in art making.

• NEW TURKS SNOWMASS OPENS – TURKS, the newest hot spot in Snowmass, brings local bands and national acts to guests and locals alike and offers live music and late-night hours renovating nearly 4,000- square-feet of prime space in Snowmass. The seating is tiered so that patrons always have a good view and enjoy great acoustics with its state-of-the art music stage and huge dance floor.

MUSIC & NEW EVENTS • MORE FREE MUSIC THAN EVER! – Snowmass offers more free music than ever this summer with 12 concerts on Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights. Celebrating the 25th Anniversary of the Snowmass Free Summer Concert Series, Snowmass Tourism is pleased to present a full lineup of amazing talent this summer at Fanny Hill and Base Village. Locals and visitors alike will enjoy a wide variety of acts, such as such as Royal Southern Brotherhood, Taj Mahal, Xavier Rudd, Jamestown Revival, Pimps of Joytime, Chali 2na and the Samples—all in a stunning mountain setting. Other great ticketed summer concerts include Stevie Wonder, Train, Duran Duran and The Killers. • NEW AND RETURNING MAJOR EVENTS – Also abrew is the Snowmass Craft-Beer Rendezvous, on June 11, presented by the Colorado Brewers Guild. More than 50 craft brewers from around the state will each showcase multiple beers in a grand tasting, and there will be homebrew workshops and a pre-event 5k run as well. Returning this summer are the popular culinary events Heritage Fire and Grand Cochon, Wanderlust yoga festival, the Colorado Scottish Festival and Rocky Mountain Highland Games and Tough Mudder.

UNIQUE THINGS TO DO IN SNOWMASS • VERY IMPORTANT KIDS PROGRAM – The Snowmass Very Important Kids (VIK) Summer Program offers fun activities for the whole family. Campfire sing-a-longs and marshmallow roasts complete a perfect Colorado evening. Celebrating 43 years, the Snowmass Rodeo is the oldest continuously running rodeo in Colorado. (Wednesdays, June 8 – Aug. 17) • SLOPESIDE BOWLING ALLEY – It’s not the type of thing you would expect to find in a mountain town, but Slopeside Lanes is a popular addition to the otherwise outdoors-focused Snowmass. Conveniently located at the end of the Snowmass Mall and just steps from the mountain, Slopeside Lanes features six full-sized lanes, a lounge area with full bar, locally brewed beers, -fired oven pizzas, upscale bar food and more.

NEW NON-STOP FLIGHTS FOR SUMMER • Setting sights on Snowmass this summer is easier than ever with new non-stop flights into Aspen/Pitkin County Airport on American and United Airlines. Beginning June 2, 2016, American Airlines will offer new summer non-stop flights from Chicago/O’Hare International Airport (ORD), expanding their existing daily flights from both Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) and Dallas/Ft. Worth International Airport

(DFW). United Airlines will offer new summer non-stop flights from San Francisco International Airport (SFO) from June 9, 2016 through August 15, 2016. This will add to their existing summer service from Denver International Airport (DEN), Chicago (ORD), Houston (IAH) and Los Angeles (LAX). Both Chicago and LAX are being extended into the fall with Chicago flights continuing through October 4, 2016, and LAX flights continuing through October 29, 2016.
