As you prepare to enjoy another movie, we want you to know more about the Crandell and our year-round programming. 3 TRACY MEMORIAL The Crandell was built as a vaudeville house in 1926 and is now the oldest, KINDERHOOK STREET • largest single-screen movie theatre in Columbia County. In 2017 the 4 CRANDELL THEATRE Crandell was listed on the National and State Registers of Historic Places. PP Since 2010 when the Crandell was purchased by a community-based, not- MORRIS MEMORIAL 12 • PARK ROW GC 5 for-profit organization, nearly $1 million has been raised to make extensive repairs to the building and install new sound and digital projection systems that allow us to continue showing first-run films. 9 MAIN STREET / ROUTE 66 6 10 For nearly a decade the lights of the marquee have been on 365 days each • year, screening over 1,100 mainstream and independent films that have attracted 35,000 people of all ages. RAILROAD AVENUE / ROUTE 295 Since 2000 FilmColumbia has received national recognition for the DEPOT SQUARE • quality of its programming, screening over 500 movies before their general release. Of these, 24 received Academy Awards. We keep ticket prices and concessions low through membership, donors, • and grant income that supports day-to-day operations as well as year- round programming.
