Fire Juniors – Return to Play Protocols FAQ

When is the CFJ Fall season scheduled to begin?

The week of August 17th.

What is the season format?

All players will be placed into age-group teams of up to 45 players and will participate in training and intra-team scrimmages with the players in their team. Training schedules will be conducted Monday-Thursday with scrimmages on the weekend. All training and games will take place at Legends (Plainfield South High School). All of this programming will be led by CFJ West professional coaches.

What happens next?

An email will be disseminated by club staff in the coming days to you regarding the Fall season. As a reminder registration for current players began in June but the club will require all players to accept updated waivers and their payment plan options. Payments will be taken on a monthly basis only.

Will returning players be able to apply the credit from the Spring season?

Yes! All credits will be applied to the Fall season. Please reach out to Kathy Ayres at [email protected] for details on this.

What are the payment options for the 2020/21 season fees?

Due to the fluidity of the season, we will only be asking for families to pay fees towards the Fall season at this time. In addition, a monthly payment plan will be applied to all registrations.

Can I join multiple groups?

Players will only be allowed to register and play with one team during the season. Teams will also remain consistent during this phase due to the state health officials’ guidelines, meaning players will not be able to change teams after a certain period.

Can you provide a schedule example for a regular game night?

Due to the restrictions with the health guidelines, we are unable to provide specialized training such as SAQ or goalkeeping training. However, those specialized trainings will be included within the team training this Fall.

What equipment should my player bring to the session?

Please bring all personal equipment needed for you to play including, cleats, shin guards your ball and water bottle. To promote a safe environment, all parents/players should sanitize their own equipment prior to arrival.

Do I still have to purchase the new CFJ uniform?

All returning and new players will be required to purchase the new uniforms. Despite not being able to compete in any leagues and tournaments at this time, players will still be participating in intra-team scrimmages that will require players to have multiple uniform and jersey options. In addition, if the guidelines do change and allow for outside competition, we would require all players to be prepared for this event with the correct uniform.

What documents am I required to review prior to the start of the program?

All players must review and sign:

• Update Player Agreement • Updated Club Waiver • Updated CIBC Fire Pitch Waiver • Updated Player Code of Conduct • Updated Parent Code of Conduct • IYSA Communicable Disease Waiver

What is the check-in and check-out process for the program?

Players will check-in before each session at a CFJ West table. A staff member will take attendance, conduct a screening questionnaire and a temperature check before providing direction on where to go. Any player found to be skipping the check-in process will be removed from his/her pod for the remainder of the season.

What happens if I am late to my session?

You must still check-in at a CFJ West table.

What happens if I arrive early?

You will not be allowed to enter the field of play until all players from the preceding groups have cleared the field.

Are there bathroom facilities?

Yes, bathrooms are available as you check in and will be open and will follow approved cleaning, sanitation, and social distancing guidelines.

Are spectators allowed to watch training and/or scrimmages?

The state health official guidelines require that all participants, staff and spectators be included as part of the maximum number of 50 people. Due to this restriction, no spectators will be allowed within 30 feet of any fields or facilities.

What happens if there is inclement weather?

Play will continue during rain. If there is heavy rain, pooling on the field, and/or lightning – play will be suspended and players will be directed to the nearest shelter.

In the event of lightning, parents will be asked to pick-up their child(ren) at the earliest convenience.

Should this result in any future scheduling changes or cancellations, we will of course notify all participants and parents as soon as possible and work with you on appropriate next steps, including any applicable credits or refunds.
