21 Farm Foundation’s Bennett Agricultural Round Table

One of the objectives of Farm Foundation’s strategic Steering Committee members who provide plan is to foster dialogue and build networks leadership to the Round Table include: to increase understanding of public issues and Nicholas C. Babson, Chair policies. We do this through dozens of conferences and workshops across the country involving James A. Christenson, Vice Chair diverse groups—producers, researchers, agribusiness Bruce Andrews leaders, regulators, interest groups and policy Jay Armstrong makers. Many of the programs follow the model Robert Boozer used in the Bennett Agricultural Round Table. Larry Groce Farm Foundation has administered the Round Carol Keiser Table since the 1983 retirement of its founders, Martha Roberts Charles Dana and Edith Thoman Bennett. They Henry E. Rodegerdts originally brought together a diverse group of agricultural leaders to advise the Eisenhower Chris Schlect Administration on agricultural policy development. Thus the Round Table was born.

The Round Table’s June 2002 meeting in Wilmington, Del., focused on biotechnology’s role in the fast-paced world of agriculture. The January 2003 meeting in San Diego, Calif., centered on agricultural trade in the Pacific Rim markets.
