The spring Phonathon was held during two weeks of Mike Burrus ‘73 March. More than 50 students and a dozen parent President volunteers stepped up to man the phones and contact a wide variety of constituents in the KMC family. I want to thank them all for the volunteerism and hard work making calls and following up with written confirmations.

I would like to remind you again that the Annual Fund is used strictly for the day-to-day operation of our school. Expenses covered by the Annual Fund include salaries for teachers and staff, utilities, insurance and maintenance to name a few areas covered by the proceeds of the Annual Fund.

And while the Annual Fund does not contribute to the cost of the new Coach Herm and Jackie Bachrodt Athletic Complex, it does help to cover the increased costs mentioned above associated with the complex.

In addition to providing a valuable service to their school, our student volunteers learned some valuable life lessons on a number of subjects, including: • making telephone contacts with people they don’t know • engaging themselves and their contacts with the school • the process of making a request for a financial gift, and • learning about the kind of character that Chaplain Kapaun Memorial, Mount Carmel Academy and 2 Kapaun Mt.
