Dear Sisters & Brothers,

rd On Sunday, April 3 at 6:00 PM, we will be showing the movie War Room here at Rolling Plains Church. The story line of the movie is of a couple struggling in their marriage and careers and how the power of prayer totally changes their lives in miraculous ways. Many of you have seen this movie and have been blessed by the strong reminder of the power and effectiveness of a prayerful life. After seeing War Room with my family just over a month ago, I have felt a fresh power, passion, and sense of effectiveness in my prayer life. In fact, we have rearranged three rooms in our house: Elizabeth has started a prayer list on the wall in her closet, Tawna has completely reorganized her closet as a prayer room, and I have started a personal prayer wall in our bedroom closet. Some of those prayers are already being

Some of us find ourselves too busy to with “e-newsletter” and your first and last name in the subject line. pray and it never really becomes a priority in our lives. We believe in God and know He wants to hear from us, but we get so easily discouraged when it feels like our prayers go unanswered. Others get caught up in the right words to use or even what to say when we pray, and the idea of praying with others in public just scares the daylights out of some of us! We just get stuck before we even get started by not knowing how to pray. Because of this, many Christians walk through life feeling their prayers are powerless and ineffective.

So many persons struggle deeply in their lives filled with fear, robbed of joy, and feeling defeated. The reason is that

without prayer, we are going to war alone. We are fighting a losing battle in our lives against a very real and strong

enemy. It’s time we declare war on our enemy in the power of God with a faith-filled and passionate prayer life. Let us cry out to God asking Him to go to battle for us and to crush our enemy with a power we do not possess. When we pray, we are leaving behind the frailty of humanity and tapping into the supernatural power of God. God wants to War Room Movie Event fight for us, but is waiting until we are tired of fighting on our own. It’s time we take back our relationships, our families, our careers, our passions, our future, our hope, and our joy by letting Satan know that God is in charge and -- a collaboration of the Prayer Ministry, Journeyers, & RP Youth -- that He will fight for us. When we pray, we wage war! When we cry out to God, we go to battle to break down strongholds and to break through into God’s great abundance. Believe God’s promise about prayer in James 5:16: The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective. Sunday, April 3 | 6:00 PM

It will only happen by declaring war on the enemy through the power of prayer.

If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land. 2 Chronicles 7:14

PREPARE THE SOIL Have you liked us on Facebook but aren’t getting our posts in your newsfeed? We are entering our second season of having raised-bed gardens at Bethel. We will expand from two garden beds to four, a project expansion made possible through the cooperation of the Try updating your notifications. Ohio University Zanesville Early Childhood Class and funding from Coburn UMC Fair Stand Committee. As we enter into this planning stage, I am reminded of the Parable of the Sower found in Matthew 13:18-23. Here, Jesus tells us that what is sown on good soil bears fruit. 1. Click the settings wheel next to newsfeed, 2. Choose “Prioritize who to see first.” then click Edit Preferences. I just took a walk around our current beds and I see that our soil is in need of some upgrade, for sure. Our seeds may not fall on rocks and stones, but there is much evidence of weeds, which can potentially choke out our planting efforts. Therefore, the first task will be to truly prepare the soil so that we increase our chances of a good harvest. In this preparation stage, we will also be working with the children and youth by planting some seeds indoors to be transferred to the garden after the danger of frost has passed in May.

I know Jesus was using the above parable to illustrate the point that the Word of God is the seed. The good soil 3. This is also evident at Bethel, where we are intentionally sewing spiritual seeds through our regular Bethel Bible Club lessons, through our daily devotionals, through frequent prayers, and by servant volunteers who model the Christian lifestyle by serving, loving, and being faithfully present. In February we had thirty different volunteers who served a total of 237.4 volunteer hours. This in-kind donation equals a value of $1,922.94, if paid at the minimum wage rate of $8.10 per hour.

Through our programs for children and youth we are feeding the mind, body, and soul so that they will be able to stand strong against adversities and the challenges of life when they come. Those of you who have provided us with healthy snacks, after school supplies, and monetary donations are greatly appreciated for your partnership with us to share the love of Jesus in the Putnam neighborhood. If you are feeling called to serve on-site with us, we will be transitioning from game nights to our Second Saturday Picnics on April 9 from 5:00 to 7:00 PM. We would appreciate food and your presence, in order to serve and get to know the children and families we serve. We will be having VBS the week of June 13th through the 17th. We also welcome people for games and activities, weekdays during the Summer Lunch Program, at War Veterans Park. Again, we continue to pray for our $100,000 miracle. This is our BREAKTHROUGH YEAR, a time when we become a more stable and sustainable organization. Stars of Righteousness Donations to Bethel are tax-deductible. RP Youth,
