Many of us might ask ”What does that look like?” One of the best descriptions I know is from a fellow church leader who speaks of us ‘taking note of the whispers of God’. I remember – may be 20+ years ago – thinking to myself I really must pop in and see Jack … then deciding I was too busy that day so no I would do that tomorrow. The following morning the phone rang – it was a Funeral Director to say: ‘Jack died during the night; will you take his funeral?’ I had heard the whisper of God but dismissed it as something no more than a random thought and could wait.

These photographs were taken by Ken Munday from Graveley ELTISLEY ROGER’S RAMBLINGS Well, I predicted it, and sure enough Highways England (formerly the Highways Agency – whatever did that pointless rebranding cost?) failed to appear yet again at a meeting on 29th September to discuss the proposed new dualled A428. If this is an indication of their efficiency then perhaps the road will never appear also – I expect holidays got in the way! It is worth noting that if the new road is eventually built work will not commence until 2020. We continue to press for improvements to the Cambridge Road junction, particularly as the A428 is advertised by Highways England as the “preferred diversion route” during the work on the A14 – can you believe that? – so the overstretched road will be even busier. To add power to our elbow please write to Highways England, your County Councillor and your MP expressing your concern. If you are unsure of the contact details please phone me 01480 880122. East West Rail - Making Meaningful Connections Non-Statutory Consultation I am writing on behalf of Huntingdonshire District Council (HDC) in relation to the above non- statutory consultation on the East West Rail (EWR) project. Thank you for confirming in the email dated 15th April 2021 to Mrs. Burton that HDC’s comments would be accepted after the end of the consultation period in order to enable the responses to be considered by our Cabinet. The Council’s response is attached as appendix 1 to this letter. You will see from the information that the Council is of the view that a lot of information remains outstanding and we are therefore unable to recommend a route, and instead focus on key principles. The Council would welcome close collaboration with East West Rail as the project progresses. Recognising that feedback will inform next steps we strongly encourage EWR to share the evidence bases that inform route alignments to aid the public understanding of the rationale in the approach. Furthermore, in future consultations it is recommended that information be more transparent, easily accessible and simplified to allow members the public to understand proposals insofar as sections relate to communities.     Parish Council of Waresley-cum-Tetworth Draft Minutes of Meeting Wednesday 11 March 2020 Held at Waresley Village Hall 8pm Present: Councillors Eleanor Jack, Jonathan Lawton John Archer, Richard Jerman & Malcolm Gordon. In attendance : County Councillor Julie Wisson, District Councillor Richard West & Richard Nash. Minutes: Rod Kerr (Clerk) Apologies for absence : None received. Declaration of disclosable pecuniary interests . None declared. Minutes of parish council meeting of 28 January 2020. These were read by the Clerk & signed as a true & correct record by Chairman Eleanor Jack. Matters arising not on the agenda. The Jubilee Lamp is now functioning and the battery on the timer switch is working fine. It is thought that the issues have occurred when members of the public have been playing around with it. Councillor Archer will reset it and put a notice on it asking people to leave it alone. We will continue to monitor the situation. The interactive road sign has now been fixed. Councillor Jack sent a message to the parish councilllors regarding the “Scams in your Parish” scheme and Ian Jack is willing to be the village champion. Councillor Jack sent a response into the Greater Cambridge Local Plan. Open Forum Richard Nash asked if a litter pick was to be organized in the village this year as we did not have one last year. The Councillors agreed that there would be one in the spring, and it would be included on the agenda of each January meeting in future. The cleaning of the road signs could be incorporated into this event. We will try to tie it in with the cutting of the verges.
