ARI extends Montenegro presence with Tivat Airport opening MONTENEGRO. Aer Rianta International (ARI) today opened its new store at Tivat Airport, extending its footprint in Montenegro. It opened its first store at Podgorica Airport in April. As reported, the Irish state- owned travel retailer struck a five-year agreement to run the duty free retail concession at both airports last year. The new 100sq m store in Tivat features the core categories of beauty, liquor, sunglasses and travel essentials. ARI said the offer also includes a strong destination element, with a broad choice of wine, souvenirs, gifts and toys. The new store blends international brands and a strong destination offer in just 100sq m of space Montenegro Duty Free General Manager Deyan Fitzgerald said: “We are very proud to add Tivat to our portfolio, serving this fantastic and awe-inspiring tourist destination with a world-class duty free shopping experience. “The team in Montenegro, as well as our central colleagues in ARI have pulled out all the stops to make these two openings happen within a short space of time. It’s been a true team effort. Montenegro Montenegro is a small, but extremely attractive Mediterranean country. It is located in the south of Europe, on the Adriatic coast. Montenegro is located between 41º 52´- 43º 42´ north latitude and 18º26´ - 20º22´ east longitudes and belongs to the central Mediterranean that is Southern Europe. INFORMATION ON IMPLEMENTATION OF ACTION PLAN FOR REALIZATION OF STRATEGY FOR PERSONS WITH DISABILITIES IN MONTENEGRO FOR 2010 Podgorica, February 2011. INTRODUCTION The Government of Montenegro adopted in December 2007 the Strategy for integration of persons with disabilities in Montenegro, for the period from 2008. to 2016. This document comprises the following areas: health care, social protection and pension disability insurance, field of education, professional training and employment, accessibility, culture, sport and recreation, as well as the field related to the position of disabled people’s organizations in civil society. The Strategy envisages measures and activities to be undertaken during the aforementioned period, in order to make the position of persons with disability in Montenegro in accordance with the European standards and standards prescribed by the UN Convention on rights of person with disabilities. The Government of Montenegro in 2008. also adopted the Action plan I for 2008. and 2009., which defines priority activities to be implemented in all the above stated fields, while in 2010. it adopted the Action plan II for 2010. and 2011. Also, since 2009. the Government of Montenegro each year has adopted annual reports on realization of measures envisaged for the previous year. In creation of the Report on implementation of the Strategy for integration of persons with disabilities for 2010., also participated an inter-sectoral comprising of, besides representatives of relevant ministries, representatives of NGO dealing with disabled people issues. In this way it was fulfilled a necessity to integrate issues related to disabilities in all sectors, as well as to make direct participation of end beneficiaries, in creation of the policy, while making the strategy and Action plans, and also in monitoring of defined measures and activities.

INTRODUCTION Goals/objectives: The International City/County Management Association (ICMA) established the US – Montenegro Partnership for Municipal Development in November 1999, initially under a one- year grant from the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID). Phase I activities were designed to assist local governments in responding more effectively and efficiently to increased demands on municipal services due to the influx of internally displaced persons from the Kosovo conflict. The ICMA grant, which expanded and was extended until December 2002, now serves as the technical and operational hub for USAID assistance to the local government sector in Montenegro. During Phase II, ICMA offers an integrated package of training and technical interventions designed to: A. Develop and promulgate a new legal framework for fiscal and democratic decentralization and devolution of authority and resources B. Improve municipal financial management skills and practices C. Develop a local government in-service training delivery system to insure sustainable implementation of enacted reforms D. The project comprises the following five schemes: Improvement of sections of the E-80 coastal corridor between Tivat and the port of Bar, with a total length of approximately 39 km. Rehabilitation of the E-762 link between Danilovgrad and Podgorica, with a total length of approximately 16 km. Rehabilitation of the E-65 corridor between Lepenac and the national frontier at Spiljani, with a total length of approximately 91 km. Rehabilitation of the E-763 link between Ribarevina and the Dobrakovo border with Serbia (excluding the border crossing and the Bijelo Polje bypass), with a total length of approximately 17 km. Rehabilitation of the M-8 highway link between Pljevlja and Mihajlovica at the border with Serbia, with a total length of approximately 16 km. Four out of the five schemes consist of rehabilitation only, with only minor and localised alteration of the current footprint. If located in the EU, these schemes would not fall under the provisions of either Annex I or Annex II of the EU EIA Directive 2011/92/EU as amended. Under national legislation, they were subject to screening and the Competent Authority for the Environment has screened them out.

The focus of the research was the impact of the Arsenal brownfield regeneration on the urban development of Tivat in Montenegro, following its decades-long transformations from industrial settlements (military shipyard) to the “new town” of Porto Montenegro (the center of nautical tourism), which is 10 km away from the UNESCO World Heritage site in Kotor, which had a strong influence on the development of Tivat. The theoretical and empirical research was focused on three aspects of sustainability. This study identifies key parameters that indicate the specific causes and consequences of the urban transformations, as well as impacts of nautical tourism on the development of a particular tourist destination with accompanying sustainability factors.
