CAMHS service locations and contact details

There are six generic locality Child and Adolescent Mental Health teams covering the area. The service is an out patient service provided at the four locations where teams are based:

In addition there are 6 functional teams, all based at the Glenshirra Building, Coathill hospital, Coatbridge, ML5 4DN. These teams are contactable through a central admin team on 01236 703010.

CAYP (CAMHS for Accommodated Young People) – tier 3 service Offer a specialist service to infants, children and young people with moderate to severe mental health issues who are in local authority care and placed in foster care or one of the North or South Lanarkshire Local Authority Children’s .

CAMHS Adolescent Addictions service – (tier 3 service) Offers a range of interventions and support to young people aged 13-18, their families and supporting systems around substance misuse issues. Note that there must also be co-morbid mental health issues in order to refer a young person to this service.

Reachout team (tier 3 service) Support children and young people whose mental health is affected by parental mental ill-health.

Primary Mental Health Team (Tier 2 service for under 12’s) Offer a wide range of evidence based interventions and groupwork, including parenting interventions, to children and families who present with mild to moderate mental health issues.

Youth Counselling Service (Tier 2 mental health service for young people aged 12 and up) Offer counselling to young people with mild to moderate mental health issues, normally within High Schools.

CAMHS Intensive Treatment Team (CITT) Only accessible through internal referral from a CAMHS service, and exist to offer intensive support and intervention to children and young people at home, who require support in addition to input from their locality CAMHS team, for example to maintain them at home, avoid hospital admission, etc.

ALL CAMHS teams including the functional teams have a duty worker on call every day from 9am to 5pm to answer queries, discuss referrals or receive information on open cases. Duty workers are contactable by calling the team which covers the child’s address.
