Those texts were posted on my web site and translated into many languages. In 2006 most of the information posted at Yiquan Academy site was collected in free e-books , which can be downloaded from www.yiquan.pl The materials about yiquan history and its founder became basis for this new free e- book. You will find a lot of new information, especially about yiquan’s situation in second half of 20th century. Described here is development of the main line of yiquan. I concentrate on the founder Wang Xiangzhai , his successor Yao Zongxun and his twin sons, especially my Teacher – Yao Chengguang . This e-book will provide you with information about facts and people, and should also help you to understand the process of yiquan development better. But please remember that descriptions of events, especially fights and challenges, are based on orally passed subjective relations, and written down by someone else at much later time. Because my research was based on Chinese sources, where names of foreigners writ- ten in Chinese, are then pronounced very different than originally, I was not able to recon- struct original form of names of Europeans in some cases. -

Introduction
INTRODUCTION The wuxia film is the oldest genre in the Chinese cinema that has remained popular to the present day. Yet despite its longevity, its history has barely been told until fairly recently, as if there was some force denying that it ever existed. Indeed, the genre was as good as non-existent in China, its country of birth, for some fifty years, being proscribed over that time, while in Hong Kong, where it flowered, it was gen- erally derided by critics and largely neglected by film historians. In recent years, it has garnered a following not only among fans but serious scholars. David Bordwell, Zhang Zhen, David Desser and Leon Hunt have treated the wuxia film with the crit- ical respect that it deserves, addressing it in the contexts of larger studies of Hong Kong cinema (Bordwell), the Chinese cinema (Zhang), or the generic martial arts action film and the genre known as kung fu (Desser and Hunt).1 In China, Chen Mo and Jia Leilei have published specific histories, their books sharing the same title, ‘A History of the Chinese Wuxia Film’ , both issued in 2005.2 This book also offers a specific history of the wuxia film, the first in the English language to do so. It covers the evolution and expansion of the genre from its beginnings in the early Chinese cinema based in Shanghai to its transposition to the film industries in Hong Kong and Taiwan and its eventual shift back to the Mainland in its present phase of development. Subject and Terminology Before beginning this history, it is necessary first to settle the question ofterminology , in the process of which, the characteristics of the genre will also be outlined. -

Zhou Xuan Yun On Feb. 1, 2013, the Library of Congress of the United States hosted an event to receive Wudang San Feng Pai. This event included a speech by Taoist (Daoist) priest and Wudang San Feng Pai Master Zhou Xuan Yun and the presentation of important Wudang historical documents and artifacts for a permanent display at the Library. Wudang Wellness Re-established in recent decades, Wudang San Feng Pai is an organization in China, which researches, preserves, teaches and promotes Wudang Kung Fu, which was said originally created by the 13th century Taoist Monk Zhang San Feng. Some believe that Zhang San Feng created Tai Chi (Taiji) Chuan (boxing) by observing the fight between a crane and a snake. Zhang was a hermit and lived in the Wudang Mountains to develop his profound philosophy on Taoism (Daoism), internal martial arts and internal alchemy. The Wudang Mountains are the mecca of Taoism and its temples are protected as one of 730 registered World Heritage sites of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO). Wudang Kung Fu encompasses a wide range of bare-hand forms of Tai Chi, Xingyi and Bagua as well as weapon forms for health and self-defense purposes. Traditionally, it was taught to Taoist priests only. It was prohibited to practice during the Chinese Cultural Revolution (1966- 1976). -

Yihequan, Liguajiao, Hongquan e Meihuaquan Di Storti Enrico Questo mio lavoro vuole rimettere in campo delle nozioni storiche già ampiamente documentate e sottoposte ad analisi critica soprattutto da studiosi Cinesi e Americani. In lingua Italiana ho trovato, all’altezza di questi, unicamente la Tesi di Laurea del Dr. Smolari Fabio, ma sicuramente ci saranno altri scritti non a mia conoscenza. Il mio lavoro è molto più modesto e vuole essere da stimolo ad altri, più titolati di me, verso un approfondimento, ma soprattutto verso la diffusione delle conoscenze a tutti. In particolare ho voluto sistematizzare i resoconti storici dei legami intercorsi tra Yihequan, Liguajiao, Hongquan e Meihuaquan che a volte paiono più di un semplice caso, lasciando però aperta la possibilità al contraddittorio. Nel fare ciò parto dalla mia appartenenza alla Scuola Meihuaquan e dalle ricerche svolte in loco su questo stile. Il Meihuaquan si presenta con notevoli varianti sia tecniche che culturali, che indicano l’influenza di esperienze esterne siano esse Dottrinali o Marziali. Diventa perciò difficile fare un discorso univoco e finalmente totalmente chiarificatore. Allo stesso modo le fonti storiche sono poco chiare sulla tecnica marziale, per cui risulta arduo un confronto con gli stili di Wushu, mentre le fonti delle Scuole di Pugilato sono sovente auto referenziali. Naturalmente nel corso dello studio di questi temi da parte mia ho maturato alcune convinzioni, che potrebbero anche non avere un fondamento storico,o meglio che sono di natura indiziaria. Lungi dal dimostrarlo, leggendo i vari testi storici ho avuto l’idea che il Meihuaquan sia un emanazione dell’Hongquan e che nel corso degli ultimi trecento anni si sono fortemente influenzati a vicenda. -

(C) 2005 Kung Fu Tai Chi Magazine, reprinted by permission sHan li A story about the longest staying foreigner in Shao Lin since over 500 years On 6th February, 1998, sHan li arrived at the Shao lin temple to study Buddhism, Chinese culture and tradition, and he has done so ever since. He has taken part in many events and demonstrations of the Shao lin Temple, and thus drew a lot of attention in the Chinese media. In 2000, sHan li was chosen by the Shao lin temple to take part in the "liu da men pai", a meeting held in Nanjing between Wudang Mountain, Ermei, Shaolin, Chen jia gou, Tibetan Lamas and kung dong. This meeting was the first of its kind for 800 years and lasted 2 weeks, in which time the attendants performed and exchanged knowledge. On the 9th April 2003, sHan li was personally chosen by his abbot, Shi Yong Xin, to be one of the select 10 people that would perform traditional Shao lin kung Fu to define the true Shao lin art. Professional Martial artists, both fighters and intellectual analysts from all over the world were invited. The meeting lasted for 3days, in which time "chan wu yi" (Zen, Art, Medicine and Kung Fu) was discussed and also the future development of the Shao lin tradition. sHan li has been in Shao lin for 7 years and is as much an intricate part of Shao lin as Shao lin is a part of him. Just imagine yourself, sitting on a couch at the age of 16 and suddenly being captured by a very strong urge to go to China. -

Pochodzą one z pierwszej połowy lat 90-tych ubiegłego wieku i zostały opublikowane w czasopiśmie T’ai Chi Magazine, opisującym chińskie, wewnętrzne sztuki walki. Marvin Smalheiser1, założyciel, wydawca i redaktor naczelny tego działającego od 1977 roku periodyku przez niemal czterdzieści lat prowadził badania na temat stylu Yang taijiquan. Jego dociekliwość i przy tym duża otwartość na ludzi zapewniała licznym studentom oraz anglojęzycznym pasjonatom tej sztuki walki dostęp do wiarogodnych informacji źródłowych. Wiedzę tę gromadził latami. Na bazie wieloletnich doświadczeń wyniesionych z pracy szkoleniowej z mistrzami kungfu dawał innym praktykom taiji nieocenione wsparcie poradnicze z zakresu ćwiczeń mających na celu utrzymanie ciała w dobrej kondycji i sprawności
