PUBLIC NOTICE State Superfund Program PUBLIC NOTICE State Superfund Program Receive Site Information by Email. See next page to Learn How. Site Name: 64th Street Storage Yard July 2018 Site No. 241106 Tax Map No. 4-1185-20 Site Location: 33-32 64th Street, Woodside, NY 11377 State Superfund Site Classification Notice The Inactive Hazardous Waste Disposal Site Program (the State Superfund Program) is the State's program for identifying, investigating, and cleaning up sites where the disposal of hazardous waste may present a threat to public health and/or the environment. The New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC) maintains a list of these sites in the Registry of Inactive Hazardous Waste Disposal Sites (Registry). The site identified above, and located on a map on the reverse side of this page, has been added to the Registry as a Class 2 site that presents a significant threat to public health and/or the environment for the following reason(s): Previous operations at the site have resulted in chlorinated volatile organic compounds (VOC) contamination of soil, groundwater, and soil vapor at levels exceeding applicable standards, criteria and guidance values. VOC contamination has also been detected in soil vapor off site and in groundwater downgradient from the site. There is a potential for people to be exposed to site-related contamination via direct contact with soil and groundwater and there is also a potential for exposure resulting from soil vapor intrusion. When the site was in the Brownfield Cleanup Program (BCP) under BCP Project 64th Street (C241106), the site was determined to represent a significant threat to public health and the environment. The site has since been terminated from the BCP and remedial actions under the Superfund program are needed to address the potential for exposure to site-related contaminants. DEC will keep you informed throughout the investigation and cleanup of the site. If you own property adjacent to this site and are renting or leasing your property to someone else, please share this information with them. If you no longer wish to be on the contact list for this site or otherwise need to correct our records, please contact DEC’s Project Manager listed below. BOARDMAN REGIONAL DIRECTOR COMMISSIONER PHILLIP ENG, P.E. DEPUTY REGIONAL DIRECTOR March 25, 2004 Name Title Name of Newspaper Address Dear - On behalf of the New York State Department of Transportation (NYSDOT), I am pleased to enclose a list of Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) regarding the Kosciuszko Bridge Project. As you may know, the Kosciuszko Bridge Project is a multi-year study to explore options for the rehabilitation or replacement of the bridge. Focusing on a 1.1-mile segment of the Brooklyn- Queens Expressway from Morgan Avenue in Brooklyn to the Long Island Expressway interchange in Queens, the project will be a major public works effort. For this reason, we are asking you to join NYSDOT in reaching out to the public with information about the project. The enclosed FAQs, which we encourage you to re-print in its entirety, will provide your readers with basic facts and contact information. Community outreach is the cornerstone of the Kosciuszko Bridge Project, and we would greatly appreciate any assistance you could provide. If you have any questions or would like further information, please do not hesitate to call me at (718) 482-4526 or Lisa Kuhner, Assistant Director, Regional Government and Public Affairs at (718) 482-4002. Thank you for your interest in this matter.
