Proposal for the RD51 Collaboration Meeting in 18-22 June 2018

Piotr Gasik for the Local Organizing Committee

TU München, Excellence Cluster ‘Universe’

1 TUM in RD51

In our group at the Technical University of Munich (TUM), Physics Department (Dense and Strange Hadronic Matter lead by Prof. Dr. Laura Fabbietti) we develop and study gaseous particle detectors for basic research. In the past we were strongly collaborating with Prof. Bernhard Ketzer on the development of the large TPC with GEM readout (Panda TPC prototype).

We are currently involved in the ALICE TPC upgrade

with GEMs project for which we built all full-size

prototypes, run a dedicated R&D program and are

now involved actively in the production of the readout

chambers (GEM framing) and coordination duties.

In parallel to the ALICE activities, we continue our R&D on the MPGD stability against electrical discharges and optimization of their HV systems.

We would be happy to see you all in Munich for the RD51 Collaboration meeting in 2018! 2
