The District of West is a local government located in 's Okanagan Valley. The municipality is composed of several distinct communities with a population of 30,892, making it the second-largest municipality in the Central Okanagan region of BC. The district was incorporated on December 6, 2007 and on January 29, 2009 the district was renamed . The community has a diverse economy, which includes agriculture, construction, light industry, lumber manufacturing, retail, services, tourism and wineries. Set in a stunning part of British Columbia, the community is located on the western shores and hillsides of Okanagan Lake and boasts beaches and parks; hiking, cross country skiing and mountain biking trails; vineyards and orchards; and wineries and resorts.

Chief Administrative Officer DISTRICT OF WEST Kelowna, BC

As the Chief Administrative Officer (CAO), your primary responsibility will be working with Council to develop and implement the strategic vision for the District and overseeing the staff in delivering that vision. You will foster West Kelowna’s commitment to outstanding customer service while building capacity within the organization to address the new and emerging issues that face modern local governments. As a relatively newly incorporated municipality, you will ensure the leadership team continues to work as a cohesive unit to make resource, service and program decisions that benefit the organization and the municipality as it continues to develop and grow. In addition, you will work closely with the Regional District of Central Okanagan and your colleagues located throughout the region to address issues that affect the area as a whole.

You are an experienced local government executive who has had responsibility for providing effective leadership to a high performing, multi-disciplinary team. As the ideal candidate, you bring strong interpersonal skills, a genuine belief in the value of public participation and a proven ability to manage multiple priorities and interests. You have a demonstrated ability to work with elected officials in the planning and execution of a strategic vision for a community. Demonstrated effective ability to move an organization to the next level in its development will be an asset.
