Financial Planning - Wollongong & South Coast NSW 2013 NSW Sports Sedan Championship – Commodore Class Regulations 1 NAMING (i) The class shall be officially known as the “Commodore Class.” (ii) The Commodore Class will run as a class within the 2013 Kumho Tyres NSW Sports Sedan Championship. All regulations for this championship will apply to drivers competing in the Commodore Class. 2 COMMODORE CLASS ELIGIBILITY (i) Vehicles eligible to compete in the Commodore Class will be any Holden Commodore sedans produced from 1978-2000 (i.e. VB, VC, VH, VK, VL, VN, VP, VR and VS Commodores), fitted with an engine of no more than eight cylinders. (ii) Vehicles must use either a Dunlop Formula R D01J – size 225/50 16, Dunlop DZ03G H1 size 225/50 16 as supplied by Dunlop Motorsport or Kumho V70A - size 225/50 16 as supplied by Peak Race Tyres. (iii) Vehicles ARE NOT permitted to have wheel arch flares. Aerodynamic devices are limited to current Commodore Cup front spoiler and rear deck / wings as per the 2012 Commodore Cup regulations or similar. (iv) Beyond the description outlined above, eligibility will be at the discretion of the class manager. The class manager’s decision on vehicle eligibility for the Commodore Class will be final. 3 REGISTRATION AND CLASS MANAGEMENT (i) To be eligible to score points in the Commodore Class, competitors must pay a one-off registration fee to the Australian Sports Sedan Association (NSW) prior to official practice or qualifying for the race meeting. (ii) The registration fee is $70 & includes membership of the Australian Sports Sedan Association (NSW). Financial Planning - Wollongong & South Coast NSW 4 CLASS ORGANISERS (i) The organiser of the Commodore Class shall be David Ross and the Australian Sports Sedan Association (NSW), hereinafter referred to as "the organisers". The Commodore Class manager and eligibility officer is David ROSS. Contact details: Mob. 0439 409 036 Email [email protected] The NSW Sports Sedan Championship Director is Chris Jackson – Vice President, Australian Sports Sedan Association (NSW) Contact details: Mob. 0409 209 480 Email [email protected] (ii) The organiser’s website is www.sportsedan.com.au 5 RACE FORMAT & POINTSCORE (i) Race Format for the 2013 Khumo Tyres NSW Sports Sedan Championship will be in the form of a Qualifying session of at least 10 mins duration, and 3 Sprint Races. If possible the sprint races should be progressively increased in duration: example R1-6 laps, R2-8 laps, and R3-10 laps, or their equivalents when races are time-based . It is requested that organisers adopt this format, while defining the exact duration in laps, or time, according to the specific track length & track time allocated to the category. The Grid for R1 will be determined by qualifying times, & the grid for following 2 races will be determined by the finishing order of the prior race. Grid positions for drivers in the Commodore Class will be determined by their position in the overall race results, i.e. there will NOT be a separate grid setup for Commodore Class competitors. Points for the Commodore Class shall be awarded as follows: Points towards the Commodore Class will be awarded in the qualifying session and ALL races. (ii) The Commodore Class shall be won by the driver attaining the highest number of points at the completion of the championship. (iii) In the event of a tie on points in the Championship, awards shall be determined by comparison of the number of first placings gained in the races. If then not resolved, comparison of the number of second placings, then third placings etc. Then if after all comparisons are effected and the award is still not determined, the relative placings in the last race, second last race, etc shall be the decider. 6 AWARDS (i) Awards for 1st, 2nd and 3rd in the Commodore Class shall be presented at the NSW Sports Sedan Championship presentation function. (ii) Awards for 1st, 2nd and 3rd in the Commodore Class at each round will be presented at the conclusion of each round by the class manager. These positions will be determined based on points accumulated across qualifying and the three races at each round. If two or more drivers are tied on points at the end of a round, the higher overall position will be awarded to the driver who finished higher in the final race of the round. DNF, DNS or DNQ 0 points awarded Financial Planning - Wollongong & South Coast NSW 7 SPONSORS (i) Competitors shall carry any stickers in a clearly visible location as nominated by the organisers for championship sponsors. (ii) The upper front windscreen Banner and above the car numbers on each side of all cars is reserved for the 2013 Championship’s major sponsor “Khumo Tyres”. All cars MUST carry windscreen banners and stickers, which will be supplied by ASSA NSW prior to the commencement of the first meeting. Replacement stickers will be available from ASSA NSW on request. (iii) The front and rear number plate location will be reserved for Westpac Financial Planning which will be supplied by David ross prior to round one. (iv) Failure to comply with (i) & (ii) shall render the competitor ineligible for Commodore Class points at any rounds where the stickers are not carried and/or clearly visible. 8 COMPETITION NUMBERS (i) Competitors may request a competition number from the organiser. These numbers will be kept on a register & sent to the meeting organisers, however no guarantee can be given that these numbers will be issued by the meeting organisers. 9 CALENDAR The calendar for the Commodore Class shall be as follows: 1 27/28 April Wakefield Park 2 22/23 June Eastern Creek (TBC) 3 10/11 Aug Wakefield Park 4 21/22 Sept Eastern Creek (TBC) 5 9/10 Nov Eastern Creek .
