Editorial Assistant Dawn Middleton Truth is that the one thing Line dance demands most of its adepts, is time. Very often, dedication, [email protected] passion and loyalty follow but just because life all of a sudden is busier for someone does not mean that by not going to a regular class dancers are not interested anymore. As for many of us, Webmaster once you stop an activity (the gym is a good example in my case), the motivation of returning falls Paul Swift flat. Do you meet them in the street sometimes as they hurriedly walk by with a vague excuse Steve Healy for chat, seemingly embarrassed and ill at ease? “Five week old Lewis is the newest member of our Line dance club, Jaycee Liners from Camborne in Cornwall,” Carol Sterratt wrote. His Mum, Laura and Gran, Linda are both members of the club. “Lewis was born seven weeks early and was a little poorly but now is a dear little boy and spoiled by all the class.”

Reader’s Tip Liz Alcock suggests: “Try dancing ‘Come Dance With Me’ to 10:10 by Paulo Nutini. It is a little faster but wonderful fun to a wonderful track!

At the Girls’ Easter social, which Easter Eggscitement took place at The Peace Memorial Hall in Penkridge, Staffordshire, dancers wore yellow and white and transformed their tables into beautiful, impressive Easter themed displays. Maureen and Michelle let us into a secret: “There is quite a competition building up between tables, they have developed an element of fun rivalry in their costumes and table decorations. Their stunning presentation for socials has resulted in one of their photographs being quite frequently published either in the local newspaper or in Linedancer Magazine and they are now both very keen to outshine the other.” Fun and laughter made the whole evening an occasion to remember.

Angel Fire (122bpm) is laced with steel guitar and has a couple of cracking guitar solos. A good country rocker and defi nitely a good country dance track.

ShoDear Sho, I am hoping that you can help me Q with an increasingly annoying and problem. If I have been Line dancing all the evening at a social or party, soon after I get into bed, I get really bad cramp in my feet and legs which can take at least half an hour or so before it stops. I started Line dancing at your beginner class at the Hailsham Leisure Centre many years ago and dance three and often four times a week. Although I am now 76 years old apart from taking blood pressure tablets I am quite fit and not overweight. I don’t smoke or drink and I unwind for about half an hour after an evening dancing. I also drink water when I go dancing, maybe not enough. If you have any suggestions as to something I could do either before or after dancing to prevent the cramp, I would be very grateful. I always enjoy your section in the Daphne, good to hear from you and previously wore dance sneakers and they were Linedancer Magazine. that you are still dancing regularly. also very comfortable. Over the years, Lizzie has been and is one of the most revered and loved personalities that Line dance has ever known. And when the news came she was about to retire from the dance scene, it was a shock for many. If you have never enjoyed the “Lizzy Experience”, here’s a unique opportunity to do it in real style.

just for fun.indd 2 29/04/2010 16:39 Liesi Erler is the organizer of this event and 130 enthusiastic dancers soon join us daniel in tittmoning to listen to the songs to the first warm up dances. Daniel soon joins us and presents dances and workshops, teaching us “Turning” as well as “Dawning“, two of his great dances.

To finish, Daniel showed us a funky choreography called “I got a woman“ written by him and Pim van Grootel.

Liesi brought the day to an end with “Sexy Baby” by Raymond and Line Sarlemijn.

The party was a good mix of every style of Line dance music and Daniel’s choreographies were all big hits with dancers. When it was announced that Daniel would come back next year with his best friend Pim Van Grootel, people whooped with delight.

We were then treated to some brilliant demos by United We Dance (three clog dances) and Daniel who wowed us all all over again. It all ended at about 1am with a snowball fight and a midnight feast at Liesi’s. Linedance parties! Claudia Lezár is a Line dancer who every so often sends us some news from Germany where she dances. Here are a couple of mini reports on the latest events she has been lucky to attend.

At the end of March, in Vienna, Pim Van Grootel held a technique workshop. Happy Birthday, pim... Beginners and Newcomers were particularly welcome which was terrific.

There were even more reasons to celebrate during the event as it turned out to be Pim’s birthday. It was also Mike Grone’s birthday from the ACWDA and it was an excuse to even have a bigger party!

At around 10pm each birthday kid received a birthday cake and various sweets. Pim also received a remote controlled Mini-Cooper- Fan, as he is passionate about remote control cars. Super day and super evening!
