JOB DESCRIPTION

JOB TITLE: ASSISTANT CHIEF OFFICER (RESOURCES)

ACCOUNTABLE TO:

LOCATION/WORK BASE: Police Headquarters, , Lincoln

JOB PURPOSE AND SCOPE

To provide inspirational leadership for Lincolnshire Police to achieve all aspects of the Chief Constable’s Distinctively Lincolnshire plan. Specifically, as part of the Chief Officer Group to provide the best corporate and support services that can be achieved within the available resources.

To provide input to the Chief Officer Group to drive forward organisational change, deliver improved results and to increase efficiency.

To effectively deliver high quality and developing services through the line management of departments (Commercial Partnership, Information Management, Media & Communications, Force Control Room and Technology Futures); acting as the Chief Officer Group lead for all strategic partnership departments (ICT, Estates, Facilities and Asset Management, Human Resources and Force Control Room). Undertaking the responsibilities as the force’s Senior Information Risk Owner (SIRO) and line managing the Chief Finance Officer.

CORE WORK AREAS  Provide inspirational leadership and direction to the workforce, modelling the values and behaviours set out in the College of Policing’s Code of Ethics.

Deliver the highest standards of service to the public of Lincolnshire within the resources available.

Participate in the Corporate Governance arrangements of the Force to contribute to the vision, strategic direction, organisational development and cultural change programme of the Force.

To provide Chief Officer leadership for the continued development of designated areas of service.

In conjunction with the Office of the Police & Crime Commissioner to drive improved performance and value in the Strategic Partnership with G4S.

To develop the capability and capacity of Lincolnshire Police’s technology to deliver effective operational policing.

Maintain productive relationships with the Office of the Police and Crime Commissioner

Positively promote Lincolnshire Police and develop their profile at local, regional and national levels.

To have full responsibility as the Senior Information Risk Officer for the Force.

Lead, manage, develop and motivate the staff in the postholder’s area of responsibility to deliver the highest quality of service possible.

To provide mentoring and coaching support to colleagues as required.

Direct and monitor activity in respect of policy implementation.

To determine appropriate actions in response to national and regional initiatives as determined by the Chief Constable.
