Torrey Pines State Natural Reserve (0.8 mi) – Hike a trail in this beautiful 2,000-acre coastal state park overlooking the Pacific Ocean. Some trails lead directly to Torrey Pines State Beach. North Beach or “Dog Beach” is located north of 29th Street and stretches nearly one half mile. La Jolla Shores (4 mi) – A mile-long crescent of prime sand beach favored by active beachgoers of all interests. Anchored by the Scripps Institute of Oceanography pier, this swimming area is popular among families and surfers alike. It was originally built as a safe swimming area for children but was claimed long ago by seals and sea lions who beach themselves on the sand. SeaWorld (12 mi) – Soar, splash and play the day away at SeaWorld and delight in the activity and adventure with exciting shows, thrilling rides and unforgettable animal encounters.
