National Sorry Day National Sorry Day is observed annually on 26 May, National Sorry Day remembers and acknowledges the mistreatment of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people who were forcibly removed from their families and communities, which we now know as 'The Stolen Generations'. We would like to thank Mrs Alice Watts, Tyler’s grandmother, who came to school on 26 May to tell us about her father’s stolen story. Wayne McKenzie was a part of the stolen generation and was taken from his family. We really appreciate Alice’s honesty and openness as it helps the students, and staff, better understand the horrendous trauma inflicted on Aboriginal people.
