The term ‘legend’ is overused. But if anyone in rugby deserves this label it’s Willie John McBride, former Irish international, British & Irish Lion and skipper of both. But if anyone in rugby deserves this label it’s Willie John McBride CBE, former Irish international Willie John is the most capped British & Irish Lion of all time and was skipper of “The Invincibles” on the Lions tour to South Africa in 1974. ‘Rugby World’ magazine has named him as Rugby Personality of the Century. And he’s a tremendous supporter of the Wooden Spoon Society charity.

This will be a fantastic event with fine food and in the presence of a superb raconteur. Willie John will be introduced at the Dinner by another great British Lion, the charismatic John Bentley. There’s already been a strong demand for tables. Please contact the Club Office on 01253 734733 or email [email protected] as soon as possible.
