2. Admissibility of the following Adjournment Motion will be determined:-

Adj. Motion No. 3 (270)/2017-M, notice given of by Senator Mian Muhammad Ateeq Shaikh to discuss the highly complex system of taxes in as revealed by recent Annual Flagship Report of World Bank according to which Pakistan stands at 172 position out of 190 countries in international ranking where the system of filing of tax returns has been made easy.

SENATOR ABDUL , Chairman, Standing Committee on Interior, to move under sub-rule (1) of rule 194 of the Rules of Procedure and Conduct of Business in the Senate, 2012, that the time for presentation of report of the Committee on the Bill further to amend the Pakistan Penal Code, 1860, and the Code of Criminal Procedure, 1898 [The Criminal Laws (Amendment) (Protection of Rights of Transgender Persons) Bill, 2017], introduced by Senator Rubina Khalid, on 21st August, 2017, may be extended for a further period of thirty working days with effect from 1st December, 2017.

4. SENATOR ABDUL REHMAN MALIK, Chairman, Standing Committee on Interior, to move under sub-rule (1) of rule 194 of the Rules of Procedure and Conduct of Business in the Senate, 2012, that the time for presentation of report of the Committee on the Bill to provide for remedy and payment of compensation to those who are convicted as a result of miscarriage of justice [The Miscarriage of Justice (Compensation) Bill, 2017], introduced by Senator Mohammad Azam Khan Swati, on 21st August, 2017, may be extended for a further period of thirty working days with effect from 1st December, 2017.

8. MR. AHSAN IQBAL, Minister for Interior, to lay before the Senate the half yearly report of the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) in respect of its activities as required under section 53 of the Prevention of Electronic Crimes Act, 2016 (XL of 2016).

9. SENATORS SHERRY REHMAN AND SEHAR KAMRAN to draw attention of the Minister Incharge of Aviation Division towards the proposal to sell out key assets of PIA such as hotels in New York and Paris.

WINDING UP OF DISCUSSION ON THE ADMITTED ADJOURNMENT MOTION

10. Minister for Petroleum to wind up the discussion on the admitted adjournment motion moved by Senators Mohammad Azam Khan Swati and Col. (R) Syed Tahir Hussain Mashhadi on 1st November, 2017, and discussed in the House on 22nd November, 2017, regarding the increase in prices of petroleum products which has placed extra burden on the poor segments of society.

DISCUSSION ON THE ADMITTED ADJOURNMENT MOTION

11. Discussion on the admitted adjournment motion moved by Senator Mian Muhammad Ateeq Shaikh on 31st October, 2017, regarding the non- profitability of FTAs with China, non-utilization of concessions granted by China under the first phase of these agreements, need to review the existing FTA agreements which are not promoting value added exports and the serious concerns regarding the promotion of local industry of Pakistan.
