TUESDAY 7 JUNE TELEVISION & RADIO HIGHLIGHTS / BBC WEEK 23 ______

River City Tuesday 7 June BBC One Scotland, 8.00 – 9.00pm bbc.co.uk/rivercity

This week in Shieldinch… Michael and Leyla investigate the hate mail; Fraser gets in deeper with McCabe; and Jack tries to prove he still has a way with women.

The Brodie family are waiting the arrival of Zinnie but Michael and Leyla have more hate mail to worry about. After receiving another letter, Michael then gets an email from Eileen telling him there’s a problem with the drop-in centre and she needs to discuss it immediately. Michael and Leyla become concerned that Eileen has had letters too and maybe there’s a campaign going on against him. They meet Eileen who tells them it’s simply funding that is the problem with the drop-in centre but Michael realises that maybe Nick’s wife could be behind this. They go to meet Hannah and it becomes clear she was behind the council pulling out of funding but knows nothing about the letters. However, when Michael arrives home he gets a major clue as to who is actually behind them. Fraser is surprised to see a van bearing his company’s name on it that he knows nothing about. Chatting to the driver he soon realises that McCabe is in charge of the van – but Fraser is not too pleased about that. He sets up a meeting with McCabe who puts his mind at ease – he simply wants to go into business with him and the van will mean more deliveries. However, when the driver doesn’t make a delivery, Fraser nervously goes back to McCabe to sort it out – and Fraser soon sees exactly how McCabe sorts out problems. Robbie has noticed Jack’s womanising ways have hit a dry patch and teases him that perhaps he is getting too old for it. Jack is determined to prove that this is not the case, even although it’s clear he is pining for Gina. Jack decides to chat up Annie. Annie has just been chatting to Charlie about his big date tonight and is clearly jealous – so, even although she isn’t interested in Jack, agrees to meet him to discuss the West End festival float. But both soon realise they are wasting each other’s time.

Zinnie is played by Nalini Chetty, Michael by Andy Clark, Leyla by Maryam Hamidi, Hannah by Frances Thorburn, Eileen by Deirdre Davis, Fraser by Neil McNulty, McCabe by Tam Dean Burn, Robbie by Gary Lamont, Jack by John Comerford, Gina by Libby McArthur, Annie by Reanne Farley and Charlie by Ryan Smith.
