Thank you to our volunteers and girls that got out and shared our message this month! Girls walked in parades, atended community events, and participated in take-action projects. Troops have been at camp and traveling, seizing the opportunity to get together. We have loved seeing your pictures! Please continue to share your adventures.

On-Time Renewal It's time to renew your membership!

We kicked of August with On-Time Renewal and our frst t-shirt drawing! Every three days we will draw three renewed girls to win a new Girl Scout t-shirt and share the winners in the GSU Program Support Facebook group.

Troops have the opportunity to earn extra cookie proceeds and a camping fast pass.

Action Needed: Review On-Time Renewal rewards and renew today. Girl Scouts of 's On-Time Renewal runs August 1 – September 30.

Programs & Activities

New Badges are Here!

Now there’s 28 new ways for Girl Scouts of all ages to explore their world, either online or unplugged. With this year’s newest class of badges, Girl Scouts can take on more topics that mater to them, like geting outside and discovering math in nature (sponsored by Johnson & Johnson), taking their online cookie business to the next level, and learning how to be digital leaders (sponsored by Instagram). Get ready, because these new badges will spark her sense of wonder this year!

Join GSU's FIRST Robotics Team

Is your Girl Scout interested in robotics? Check out our FIRST Robotics program! We are currently seeking both Girl Scouts and adult volunteers for our FIRST Robotics teams for fall 2021. FIRST Lego League Explore is for Girl Scouts in grades 1-4 and they will build projects and a simple machine out of Legos. FIRST Lego League Challenge is for Girl Scouts in grades 4-8 and includes designing, building, and programming a Lego robot and creating an engineering project.

No technical experience is required to be a coach and coaches can be any gender. Be sure to let us know if you’re interested in this exciting and fulflling program!

Action needed: Check out our STEM webpage to learn more about FIRST Robotics under “Robotics.” Save your spot at our August 12 open house or complete the interest form if you or your Girl Scout is interested in joining a team.

Outdoor Program Spotlight: Girl Scouts Love State Parks Events

Girl Scouts Love State Parks is BACK! Girl Scouts of Utah is hosting two events for girls and families on September 11 at and Snow State Parks. Wrap up the Girl Scouts Love the Outdoors Challenge with service projects at two of Utah's many beautiful state parks.

Antelope Island State Park September 11 | 3:00–9:00 p.m. Cost: $5 Participate in a service project at Antelope Island State Park to show how we care for our earth. After our service project, we will enjoy some astronomy as we work on some of the requirements for the new Dark Skies council patch. Girls will explore space through a telescope and guided stargazing. A snack will be provided; however, participants must bring their own dinner.

Snow Canyon State Park September 11 | 6:45–9:30 p.m. Cost: $2 Join us for a service project at Snow Canyon State Park outside of St. George to show how we care for our earth. After our service project, we will embark on a sunset hike and enjoy astronomy. Girls will explore space through a telescope and guided stargazing. Dinner not provided.

Action needed: Register online by September 2 @ 11:59 p.m. for Antelope Island State Park or Snow Canyon State Park.

Virtual programs have limited space and registration is required. In addition to our many live virtual events, GSU also ofers self-paced courses that allow girls to go at their own pace.

2022 Cowabunga Bay Cookie Party Survey

Vote on the Cowabunga Bay Cookie Party for 2022! Help choose the format for this cookie reward and make your voice heard.

Two options are available:

Atend a party at Cowabunga Bay on a specifc date. The park will be reserved for Girl Scouts of Utah, and you must register through GSU to atend one of the two sessions. Family and friends can register to atend for an additional cost based on availability. This would be the only opportunity to visit Cowabunga Bay for the girls who earn the reward. Receive vouchers for admission, food, and dessert. Girls can choose the date and session they wish to visit Cowabunga Bay for the 2022 season. Additional admission tickets will be available at a discounted price for family and friends. Action needed: Complete the survey by August 10.
