The victory gave the Vols their Phil Steele All-SEC Second Team first winning season since 2009 as Tennessee closed Phil Steele Freshman All-American Team the campaign with a 7-6 record in Butch Jones’ second ESPN’s True Freshman All-American Team season on Rocky Top.
