Abstract I am a Grammy award-winning music producer and - turned computer scientist. I wrote my first song at age seven and my first computer program when I was ten; now I am realizing my old dream of doing research in Computational Music Production (CMP). As a teenager I skipped out of high school to work professionally with programming and music for games on the Commodore 64 and Amiga. It was in relation to this that my interest in machine learning was ignited - and I ordered my first book on neural networks from the MIT Press. When I was twenty years old I started my own music studio, and only two years later one of my songs became a worldwide number one hit.

Automata can be viewed and edited on external hardware (Novation Launchpad) and controlled via MIDI. Output can be patched to any MIDI device, and thus be used to control virtually anything. Ideal for iPhone implementation, eg. for use in laptop orchestras. Read abstract & more here. Supervised by Dr. Joseph Kiniry @ IT University of Copenhagen.
